Build Overview

The Pulverize Druid Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4 Season 11.

Pulverize is a one-button, immortal and one of the strongest builds in the entire game.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Easy to Play
  • Immortal
  • Great AoE
  • Mobility
  • Clunky
  • Bear

Build Variants

Santifications

The build doesn't require any specific Santification to function; you can take any positive outcome. I tested on PTR trying to get a specific Santification and it's simply not realistic to RNG the perfect Aspect on the correct slot piece. After an item is Sanctified it can never be modified again, meaning that your multi GA items will be bricked after just one Sanctification, making it impossible to create builds around it that are realistic.

Rotting Lightbringer is 100% mandatory to play this build.

Tibault's Will and Insatiable Fury are very strong but not build enabling, I would still use them, especially the Tibault's Will giving critical strike chance since S11 makes up for losing our guaranteed critical strikes from Purge the Infected that we used in S10.

Divine Gifts

Andariel:

Essence of Screams is very helpful with it's 20% resistances bonus, if you find yourself overcapped in resitances you can always opt out of this Divine perk for Essence of Anguish and gain some extra Movement speed which is never bad. Be careful not to overcap your Mov Speed, the maximum bonus you can have is +100% total.

Azmodan:

Essence of Sin is the only viable choice; an extra 20% armor makes it a lot easier to cap your armour and build a more offensive character.

Belial:

Essence of Lies is the stronger buff with it's 1% Fortify per second, but if you find yourself in trouble with crowd control you can always switch to Essence of Shadows

Duriel:

Essence of Pain is pretty useless in my opinion, having a barrier when already on low life isn't going to save your life very often. For that reason, I decided to take Essence of Squalor, which can be helpful for long fights like T4 Bosses or high pits/Towers.

    How it Plays

    • Alternate between casting Maul and Claw (Wolf) until 6 Stacks of Quickshift.
    • Cast Grizzly Rage.
    • If you accidently press Grizzly Rage before having 6 Stacks of Quickshift you can do it again on the next chance.
    • Cast Debilitating Roar against Elites and Bosses.
    • Spam Pulverize
    • Move between each cast to generate overlapping Puddles.

    How it Works

Pulverize is a very straightforward build to play and understand.

We use Grizzly Rage with Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast and Aspect of the Rabid Bear to get a huge damage multiplier. Grizzly Rage Cooldown Reduction and Duration Tempers with Calm Before the Storm allow us to up keep our ultimate a sufficient time.

    Leveling

Although leveling with Pulverize is possible, I would opt for leveling with Companions or Shred.

    Mercenaries

We use Subo with Wire Trap for Movement Speed and Cover Fire for Critical Strike Damage.

As a Reinforcement, we use Varyana with Ancient Harpoon to pull mobs in.

    Runes

We use Cir + Kry to pull in monsters.

Initially, we combine it with Poc + Lum for more Resource.

Later on, we swap it for either Bac + Jah for farming or Tam + Ohm for Pit Pushing.

    Spirit Boons

    Deer

    • Gift of the Stag for Spirit per Second,

    Eagle

    • Swooping Attacks for Attack Speed.
    • Avian Wrath for Critical Strike Damage.

    Wolf

    • Energize to help with resources.

    Snake

    • Calm Before the Storm to get better uptime on Grizzly Rage.

    Elixirs and Incenses

It's important to run Elixirs and Incenses at all times. Not only because they increase your Experience gain, but also because they provide very strong combat boosts.

For Elixirs, you will use Elixir of Advantage for Attack Speed, or Elixir of Fortitude for more Maximum Life.

For Incenses, you will use Spiral Morning for All Stats, Reddamine Buzz for Maximum Life or Song of the Mountain for Armor and Soothing Spices for All Resistances and more Armor.

    Masterworking and Greater Affixes Explained

    Masterworking

    • Since Season 11 Masterworking no longer increases your item’s affix values. Instead, it improves the Quality of an item, which gives a bonus to the base damage, armor, or resistance of an item.
    • Items can be Masterworked to a maximum Quality threshold of 20. Each time you Masterwork the item, it adds a random amount of Quality to the item (from 2-5 levels). Once at maximum Quality, you can roll it one last time for a Capstone bonus.
    • This Capstone bonus upgrades a random non-greater affix on your item into a Greater Affix. You can then choose to re-roll the Masterworked Greater Affix, without resetting your Masterworking Quality. Re-rolling the current Masterworked Affix will cost Obducite and Neathiron.

    Greater Affixes

Greater Affixes (GA) on an item force the affix to roll at the top of it's range of possible values and then applies a 50% increase to its value. GA increases are additive with Masterworking increases.

In this planner, the yellow star to the left of an affix denotes that is a GA.

    Masterworking and Greater Affix Priority

Unless a certain amount of a stat is required and no more, like in the case of Attack Speed Breakpoints, Armor and Resistances, the Capstone Bonus is not necessary.

Guides, which follow a Starter -> Midgame -> Endgame progression, are structured such that the difficulty of the MWing outcome and amount of GAs on items also progresses as expected.

For example, a Starter variant will generally have 1GA items. A Midgame variant will generally have 2GA items. An Endgame variant will generally have 2GA/3GA items with a perfect Capstone Bonus.

From this you can derive that the GA on the starter version is the most important, the second GA added is the second most important and the third GA added is the third most important affix.

When GA and Capstone don't align you are most likely in the presence of a stat with a certain threshold you have to meet or a cap and those will be explicitly stated in the guide anyways.

In the case of Uniques GA and Capstone, progression standards are generally shifted by one as they are easier to MW because they have 4 affixes and also easier to acquire with multiple GAs.
