Overview

Chaos Perks, or Powers as they’re fondly known in the community are one of the two core seasonal mechanics in Season 10. They let you change how your skills work, giving new damage options, resource tricks, or survivability.

You can equip any three non-unique Chaos Powers and one Unique Chaos Power at the same time, totalling up to four Chaos Powers. The four rarities of Chaos powers are Magic, Rare, Legendary and Unique. On top of this there are also Class specific Chaos Powers that are only selectable by that specific class, allowing for a broad, unique coverage of powers for every class and overall, each class has access to 16 powers.

Before beginning you should look into starting and completing the Seasonal quest at assassin Shyan who works for the order Viz-Jaq'taar. She can be found in Ked Bardu and she’ll start you off with the questline Sands of Chaos.

For a look at the overall contents of season 10s Season of Chaos, check our overview here.

Chaos Power - Rarity Types

Chaos Powers come in four rarities:

  • Magic – simple bonuses.
  • Rare – stronger effects.
  • Legendary – major build-shaping effects.
  • Unique – extreme, one-per-character effects that can redefine a build.

General Chaos Powers

Magic

  • Invigorating Attacks – Every 5 seconds, your next Basic Skill generates an additional 50-100% of your Maximum Primary Resource, but your Basic Skills deal 30% reduced damage.
  • Accelerating Chaos – Lucky Hit: Damaging an enemy has up to a 10% chance to trigger a Chaotic Burst on the enemy, dealing 200-400% damage. Your Chaotic Bursts that hit an enemy reduce a random active Cooldown by 0.5 seconds.
  • Unstable Power – Chaotic magics erupt from your Basic Skills, making them guaranteed to Critically Strike and Overpower for 50-100% increased damage, but the power is unstable, giving them a 3 second cooldown.

Rare

  • Erupting Chaos – Chaotic Bursts randomly erupt around you, dealing 200-400% damage of your highest damage type. Your Chaotic Bursts also deal 100% of their initial damage over 4 seconds.
  • Power Siphon – Your Core Skills deal 50-100% increased damage, but also reduce your Maximum Current Resource by 20 for 6 seconds. This reduction stacks but does not refresh.
  • Alternating Alterations – Casting a Core Skill empowers your next non-Channelled Cast of a different Core Skill, refunding 50% of its Resource cost and dealing 10-30% increased damage.

Legendary

  • Chaotic Cooldowns – Casting a Skill with a Cooldown will randomly set its Cooldown between 2 seconds and its base cooldown. You no longer benefit from Cooldown Reduction. Using a Cooldown unleashes a Chaotic Burst, dealing 300-500% damage of your highest damage type.
  • Crazy Brew – Your Healing Potion is infused with the power of Chaos, granting you 100% Resource Cost Reduction, 40-80%[+] increased Attack Speed and 40-80[+] increased Movement Speed for 5.
