Diablo 4 Season 10: Chaos Armor Guide

Chaos Armor is a new type of Unique gear introduced in Season 10. These items take existing Unique items and twist them into more powerful forms that can drop in different armor slots. This lets you equip combinations that were impossible before and opens up new build paths.

There are plenty of new unique variations because of this, that will encourages more flexible build crafting. You can move a familiar Unique to a new slot and free up space for another power piece.

Chaos Armor, or Chaos Unique items are essentially upgraded versions of existing Unique items that come in multiple different item slots:

• They always drop with maximum roll values on their powers.
• Each one has at least one Greater Affix guaranteed.
• They appear in different slots than the normal version of that Unique.
• • Example: Fists of Fate normally drop as gloves. A Chaos Armor version could drop as a helm, letting you wear another pair of Unique gloves.
• You cannot equip the normal and Chaos Armor versions of the same Unique at the same time.

Chaos Armor can drop for Helm, Chest, Gloves, Pants, and Boots.

Are Chaos Unique Items Permanent?

Chaos Armor is a Season 10 only feature. The items will move with your character to the Eternal Realm when the season ends, but the system itself (drops, Chaos Rifts, Bartuc guarantees) will not be available in Season 11.

Thankfully Chaos Armor isn’t locked behind a single activity. It can drop from many sources across Sanctuary where loot drops. So getting your hands on some Chaos Armour isn't going to be impossible. That said, Chaos Armor may not be common outside of Bartuc's guaranteed drops. Expect to farm several Rifts or Infernal hordes before something drops.

That said, these are the best ways to get Chaos Armor:

Bartuc, Lord of Chaos

• Found at the end of the Infernal Hordes activity.
• Available in Torment I and higher.
• Torment III and IV guarantee a Chaos Armor drop when you defeat him.
• Earlier Torment tiers (I and II) have a chance but are not guaranteed.

Chaos Rifts

• Appear in the open world during Helltides and inside Nightmare Dungeons.
• Sealing a Chaos Rift grants Viz-Jaq’taar Veneration (seasonal reputation), Infernal Warp, and a chance at Chaos Armor.
• Chaos Rifts scale with difficulty, Torment levels improve loot quality and drop rates.
• Extremely rare Mythical Chaos Rifts can appear in higher Torments and have the best chance for Chaos Armor.

Infernal Hordes and Greater Infernal Caches

• Completing Infernal Hordes waves and opening caches can yield Chaos Armor.
• Using the Urn of Chaos Armor seasonal blessing boosts the chance for Chaos Armor from Greater Infernal Caches.

Other than places to gain Chaos Armor, there are Seasonal Blessings you can use that will really increase your chances and speed at obtaining more Chaos Unique items.

• Urn of Chaos Armor (Season Blessing): increases the chance to drop Chaos Armor from Greater Infernal Caches.
• Urn of Reputation: speeds up Viz-Jaq’taar Veneration gains so you unlock other bonuses faster.
• Urn of Blazing Infernal: helps you farm high-wave Infernal Compasses, which lead to better loot pools including Chaos Armor.
• Urn of Chaos Nightmares: gives extra Nightmare Sigils with the “Chaos Rift” affix to increase Rift farming.
