Realmwalkers and The Seething Realms Guide (Season of Hatred Rising)

Diablo 4 Season 6, aptly named the Season of Hatred Rising, is right on our doorstep and with it comes new challenging seasonal mechanics.

These mechanics offer nightmarish monstrosities that house giant portals on the tops of their back that once defeated allow you entrance into a new Dungeon type called the Seething Realms.

Alongside this season comes Diablo 4's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which will bring along a whole host of new items, mechanics, skills, passives, and even the brand-new class, Spiritborn!

Explore the best Season 6 meta builds curated by our Mobalytics experts.

Seasonal Questline - Unlocking Realmwalkers

To begin your journey, you’ll want to first unlock access to the Realmwalkers by following the new Seasonal Questline, Creeping Hatred, which should be marked when you begin the season.

Head over to Crsuader Damond in Zarbinzet, located inside Hawezar, to start Creeping Hatred. You’ll be presented with information about the Realmwalkers, how they’re defeated, and how to harness the power of the Seething Realms and Seething Opals.

It’s important to note that you must either complete the base game’s campaign or choose the option to skip the campaign upon character creation to gain access to the season quest line.

Zones of Hatred Rising - Finding a Realmwalker

Realmwalkers are not native to a specific location; instead, they spawn during the Hatred Rising Event in one of the 5 Regions of Diablo 4's base game.

A Realmwalker will spawn during the event every 15 minutes, rotating locations each time. Additionally, once an hour, a second Realmwalker will appear in Nahantu, the new DLC region.

Once encountered, they'll initially be invulnerable, and killing their Bloodhound Guardians will lower their defences. Be wary, as within these areas, monsters will ambush the player from portals, releasing waves of enemies. Some monsters will also be empowered by hatred, making them tougher than usual.

Seething Realm - New Dungeon

Once you’ve been successful in bringing down a Realmwalker, a portal to the Seething Realms will open up. The Seething Realms is a new dungeon type; here, you’ll defeat enemies to reach the Realm Gate. The player can then decide to offer materials at the Realm Gate, which will influence the rewards provided at the end of the Dungeon.

In total, there will be five different options on release:
