ASPECTS INFORMATION (Main and optional)
The three “main” aspects that I advise you to keep permanently equipped in your jewelry are :
- Engulfing Flames, in the amulet
- Serpentine, in the ring
- Accursed Touch, in the ring
Here's a non-exhaustive list of interesting aspects to integrate into your build, particularly before passing a capstone, if you want to optimize your chances of passing it easily:
- Mastodon / Juggernaut: Defensive aspect, allowing you to recover a good amount of armor.
- Agitation / Hectic: Utilitarian aspect, allowing you to reduce one of your current CDs every 5 uses of FIREWORKS.
- Expeditious /Rapid: Offensive aspect, which increases the attack speed of your FIREBULB.
- Toute-Puissance / Might: defensive aspect, allowing you to reduce damage suffered by 20% for X seconds after your FIREBREAK.
WHY PUT MY ASPECTS IN JEWELRY?
As long as you're not in Tier 4, you'll be changing a lot of items. In general, we equip our pieces with armor and weapons that offer the best item level, and therefore, by default, the most armor and the most dps.
The only category of item I can advise you to keep, and which are therefore worth impregnating with an aspect, are jewels, which offer “only” implicit elemental resistances and can be kept over time in a difficulty tier.
NO AFFIX OR ASPECT FOCUS IN LEVELING?
As long as you're not in Tier 4, you'll be changing a lot of items. In general, we equip our pieces with armor and weapons that offer the best item level, and therefore, by default, the most armor and the most dps.
Certain affixes can be interesting to focus on, but they're not a priority:
As a general rule, your main stat, life, life per hit, resource regen per second, are stats appreciated in leveling.
I'd advise you to pay close attention to affixes once you're in TIER 4 and therefore have access to ancestral items!
WHEN SHOULD I UPDATE MY EQUIPMENT?
As for the rest of your equipment, equip yourself with the items offering the highest OBJECT LEVEL, as affixes won't be important until T4.
At each TIER OF DIFFICULTY, I advise you to quickly update your entire stuff with the new item level available on the TIER in question - Sacred in Tier 3 and Ancestral in Tier 4 -, at which point you can renew your jewelry once.
TIER 4+: Once you've unlocked the Ancestral items, you'll continue to respect the “I equip the highest level items” rule, but then you'll start to look at the higher affixes/affixes. There's no need to go looking for complicated items, just prioritize YOUR MAIN STATUS and/or LIFE will be more than enough for leveling (Example: an 850 item offering 60 intelligence will be less interesting than an 830 item offering 90 intelligence).
WHAT TO DO WITH THE YELLOW AND LEGENDARY ITEMS I COLLECT?
Since season 4, the power codex has been overhauled, now stocking a legendary aspect in its highest value ever recycled, so I invite you to collect and recycle all the legendary items you find to generate crafting resources while filling your codex.
BLUE ITEMS:
You should only pick them up in the first few minutes of the game, in order to get a piece of equipment from each of your available slots. As soon as you're “full stuff”, don't pick them up again.
YELLOW ITEMS:
We'll replace blue items with yellow ones as soon as possible, then with each new difficulty tier, it's more interesting to equip yellow TIER 3 items than legendary TIER 2 items (and similarly, we'll try to equip yellow TIER 4 items, i.e. ancestral items, rather than TIER 3 items, i.e. sacred items).
LEGENDARY / UNIQUE ITEMS:
You pick them up all the time to equip or recycle.
TREMPE AND PERFECTIONNEMENT MANAGEMENT
DIPPING
For dips, it may be interesting to consider them before passing a CAPSTONE, in which case you'll be looking for :
- damage that concerns you in your offensive slots (close damage, distance, vulne, over time...)
- armor or life in your defensive slots (helmet, torso, leggings)
Please note that before ancestral items, your items cannot receive TWO TYPES OF TREMPES.
I don't recommend soaking all your equipment every time you change, but you can try to get some interesting OFFENSIVE soaks on your jewelry, as these will be kept for a very long time.
Be careful not to invest in “important” weapon tempering before you have ancestral items that you can potentially keep for 870/900+. Example: Temperings that give a chance of double cast, Scraping or Barbarian Flaying....
IMPROVEMENT
Not recommended for LEVELING, see * STEP 3 (see AFFIX FOCUS - POST TIER 4 EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT)

POST TIER 4 EQUIPMENT MANAGEMENT
To be taken into account only for ANCESTRAL pieces of equipment, in leveling only you are concerned only in steps 1 and 2.
STEP 1, once you've passed TIER 4, you'll want to replace all your equipment with ANCESTRAL items, without looking specifically at the affixes.
STEP 2, once you're fully ANCESTRAL, you start looking for legendary items that offer 1 or 2 (or 3) interesting affixes.
*STEP 3, you'll be looking for items with 3 affixes, including 1 affix above an interesting affix.
**STEP 4, you'll look for items with 3 affixes, including 2 higher affixes on interesting affixes.
**STEP 5, you perfect your items.
**STEP 6...., you'll search for items with 3 affixes, including 3 higher affixes, on interesting affixes + EXPERTISE.
