Build Summary

Frozen Orb got a lot of love in Season 5 with the buffs to the Fractured Winterglass Amulet

Winterglass is a build defining unique that lets us make a ton of lightning spears, ice blades, and hydras when we cast Frozen Orb. In turn these conjurations will spawn even more frozen orbs.

This is sorcerer's second best build this season, behind only a pure Lightning spear build. However with this you can still get 35 conjurations out. It is much easier to build and more engaging to play. You can ramp up to 25 conjurations just by casting with no enemies in sight.

To prove the strength of even the Pure version, which is 30% weaker than hybrid 25 second T8 Council Kill • Pit 140+

Build Notes

Gameplay Loop

Essentially press all your cooldowns whenever they are up. Spam cast frozen orb. Unstable Currents as needed and frequently.

The build requires some ramping to get the mana regen going. It starts off a bit slower. But once you have 10+ conjurations out, the mana regen from conj mastery kicks in hard and it should be smooth sailing!

• If you chose to use Tibault's Will Pants without the Snowveiled Aspect, You can still become unstoppable using Teleport • The damage from Tibault's persists for 5 seconds after using teleport • If you do not have or plan on using Snowveiled, try to not invest masterworks into Damage reduction while unstoppable.

How It Works

This is a Hybrid Frozen Orb + Lightning Spear build that is easier to gear than pure Lightning Spear. It comes fully online sooner, and has lower masterwork, affix, and cooldown demands. If you are not a trust fund baby or absolute grinder, this is the build for you. Trust me, this thing blasts T8 Hordes and has no issue farming Tormented Uber Bosses. It's actively engaging, fun, and powerful.

The Fractured Winterglass amulet received some extremely large buffs going into season 5, and as a result it makes sense that this is the second best sorcerer build, behind only pure lightning spear. The key to this build is very high attack speed. Cast more frozen orbs, make more conjurations, and conjurations make more frozen orbs.

We take the Splintering Aspect on gloves to get huge value out of all the lightning spears we make. Your lightning spears will obliterate everything in sight due to the chaining portion of the splintering aspect. Despite splintering not chaining on single target bosses, it does lend a lot strength to damage.

It is especially potent in Infernal Hordes. It excels during the wave section, and rips apart the bosses if you can manage to 2 or 3 o them to stand next to each other. Geleb the Flame does not cooperate likes to sit alone and teleport away. He can slow down your clear time by a lot

Because this is a Frozen orb build focuses on attack speed, we opt for a wand/focus setup instead of a Staff setup. I want attack speed to cast more Frozen orbs and make more conjurations. I can regularly get 25-35 conjurations out with the min maxed Uber guide. With the endgame guide you are looking at 15-25 conjurations out before you really get your attack speed dialed in.

The more conjurations we can get out, the higher our damage will be because of the Conjuration Mastery Passive. This passive also increases our mana regen which helps sustain this high attack speed. It also increases our movement speed to easily cap at 200%, which maxes out the 40% crit chance bonus from Esu's Heirloom boots. This build should hit 100% crit chance after the bonus crit chance from Esu's boots.
