Build Overview

Blessed Hammer is probably one of the fatest build of the Paladin if not the fatest. You use Disciple oath to be in Arbiter of Justice mode all the time. This allows you to get extra damage buff and your Blessed Hammer follow and around you thanks to Disciple's Halo Blessed Hammer. You can jump everywhere with Falling Star and melting them after landing on it!

This build assumes you’re level 60 with Torment I unlocked. The requirements are listed below.

If you are not level 60 yet, make sure to check out the Paladin Leveling Guides from our Tier List instead.

Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Fastest Build
  • Hammerdin
  • Can be a bit squishy in high pit

Build Variants

  • Showcase
  • This is the endgame version of the build with Mythic Uniques. It’s the most versatile setup, suitable for all content!
  • Requirements for this build in order of priority: Shroud of False Death, Heir of Perdition and Ring of Starless Skies.
  • Make sure to have 5 points in Arbiter of Justice and 100% uptime on it
Check the cooldown of Arbiter of Justice outside the town while moving because of the glyph Relentless. The duration of Arbiter of Justice must be higher than the cooldown.
  • If you don't have enough damage for tormented boss use Aspect of Holy Punishment and Aspect of Lagera's Sovereignty because they don't need to be stacked.

If you have toughness or Arbiter of Justice uptime problem, you can switch back to Hammerkuna Shako variant.

On your boots the implicit Attacks Reduce Evade's Cooldown by 1.5 Seconds is mandatory if you want to Perma Evade.

A legendary shield with Aspect of Holy Punishment max aspect should be a bit better than Herald of Zakarum but the difference isn't noticeable. The stats would be GA Strength, Damage Reduction, Armor and crit or life.

Masterworking (MW) enhances an item's stats. Each MW rank boosts all affixes by 1%, up to 25 ranks. Fully Masterworking an item now gives a 50% upgrade to a random affix, which can be a Tempering Affix. The boosted affix will be colored differently to highlight it.

Use the Masterworking menu at the Blacksmith. You can reset the final Masterwork, so feel free to reroll it until you hit one of the recommended stats for the extra 50% bonus.

Paragon Board

The priority is to unlock all the Legendary Nodes first, then unlock your Glyphs and their requirements. After that, spend the remaining points based on what you prefer. Nodes around the Glyph usually give more damage, while Max Life nodes are the best for toughness. Other Rare nodes can offer a bit of extra damage or toughness. The last points generally go into main stats.

Glyph leveling priority isn’t too strict:

  • Level all your Glyphs to 15 first, one by one.
  • Then take each Glyph to 46, one by one.
  • Once they’re all 46, level them evenly to 100, the order doesn’t matter too much.

How it Works

Progressing from T1 to T4

There’s only one variant for progressing from T1 to T4 because in Diablo 4 you can get all the best gear even in T1. You can usually speed-farm T4 with basic Ancestral gear, even if you only have one Greater Affix.
Most of your damage actually comes from Paragon Points, unlocking the Legendary Nodes gives a huge power spike.

  1. The first thing you want to do is get the requirements to start the build. At this point, you’re probably still using your 1-60 leveling setup.
Farm some boss materials and kill T1 bosses to get the required Unique, then switch to the build.
  2. Once you have everything needed to get started, it’s time to farm Paragon XP.
Paragon farming is very efficient at this stage, unlocking Legendary Nodes gives a huge power spike, with each one providing roughly 50–60% increased damage.
  3. A good way to farm XP is by running Helltides to collect boss materials. Then, kill Tormented Bosses on a difficulty you can clear comfortably. This gives a large amount of XP and rewards you with more materials.
  4. You can use these materials to open chests at Asmodan, located in the bottom-right of Zarbinzet.
These chests can drop a lot of boss materials again or Nightmare Sigils to target-farm what you need. Treasure Breach affixes and Prankster are the best options. Strongrooms also give Obducite for Masterworking.
  5. You can also Temper and Masterwork if you need extra boost. At this stage, don’t worry about perfect rolls — just focus on steady progression. Put aside Sanctification until you're really satisfied with the state of your item, especialy legendaries.
  6. Finally, start comparing your gear to the final build setup or an endgame version. This will help you identify which Greater Affixes (GAs) you should aim for as you continue optimizing.
