Elixirs and Incenses

ElixirElixir of Iron Barbs
Core IncenseSpiral Morning
Defensive IncenseSong of the Mountain
Resistance IncenseSoothing Spices

It's important to run Elixirs and Incenses at all times. Not only because they increase your Experience gain but also because they provide very strong combat boosts.

We use Elixir of Advantage for Attack Speed and Ancient Times for more Strength.

Soothing Spices and Song of the Mountain makes us tankier.

Mercenary

Raheir with Shield Charge + Raheir's Guard and Provoke + Iron Wolf's Ward is used for Armor + Damage but it can also be replaced with Subo, as Armor is no longer a massive scaler of damage.

Varyana with Bloodthirst gives us Attack Speed to get more out of Preacher.

How it Plays

Starter

  • Ascend through Falling Star or Condemn.
    • Re-Cast either to always remain in Arbiter Form to retain stacks of Aspect of Celestial Strifeand Aspect of Ascension.
  • Spam Fist of the Heavens Spear of the Heavens
  • Use Rally when you are low on Faith.
  • Use Fanaticism Aura and Defiance Aura for their buffs.
  • Use Falling Star for more mobility.
  • Use Condemn to group enemies.

    • You need Attacks reduce Evade Cooldown as implicit on your Boots.
  • Use Rally when you are low on Faith.
  • Use Fanaticism Aura and Defiance Aura for their buffs.
  • Use Falling Star for more mobility.
  • Use Condemn to group enemies.

How it Works

Core Mechanics

Damage

Spear of the Heavens upgraded with Fist of the Heavens turns it into a spammable Core Skill. We then use Disciple in combination with Falling Star and Condemn to ascend to Arbiter of Justice Form. This provides us with massive damage multipliers in the form of Aspect of Celestial Strife and Aspect of Ascension.

Argent Veil is then used in combination with Aspect of the Arbiter's Zephyr and Attacks Reduce Evade Cooldown to cast Spear of the Heavens when we Evade.

Fanaticism Aura is especially strong as it synergizes perfectly with Preacher while also making us attack faster.

Defiance Aura with Rite of Might further improves our damage.

Defenses

Although Paladin is fairly tanky with its high Armor, Block, we supplement our defenses with Cem + Que, which constantly generates Barrier for us.

Resource Management

Maintaining our Faith can get tricky before getting access to Ring of Starless Skies. We need a combination of Faith per Second affixes on Pants and Boots while tempering Valor Skills Restore Primary Resource on our Ring. A Lucky Hit: Chance to Restore Primary Resource on our Weapon can help before getting Griswold's Opus.

Poc or Igni + Lum can also help early on.

Runes

Early on, useCir + Gar for Critical Strike Chance, once we get Heir of Perdition we can swap this out.

Cem + Que is used for tankiness on Argent Veil Variants.

Igni + Thul is used for Vulnerable, CC for Dizzying Blow and [x]15% damage.

As mentioned previously, Poc or Igni + Lum can also help early on.

Amulet Affix Priority

Getting multiple great passives on an Amulet can be tricky or expensive here is a Tier List for all the Affixes you can get on your Amulet.

  • S-Tier

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we taking Rite of Might, how are we generating Resolve?

We generate Resolve with the Courage Passive that is granted to us by Shroud of False Death.

Alternatively, on some builds we generate it more consistently with Clash or Fortress.

Where are we getting Fortified from?

  • To count as being Fortified, any amount of Fortification will do.
  • We boost the Fortified amount with some magic nodes on Preacher.
  • Raheir, your mercenary, also provides a bit of Fortify through his ability.
  • Renewal gives Fortify and is provided by Shroud of False Death for free.
