Strengths and Weaknesses

  • Very High Mobility
  • Great Damage
  • Easy to Get Going

Build Variants

In this season, a lot of skills and upgrades are locked behind levels. So it’s important to know that you won’t be able to get Grizzly Rage early on, or even some key upgrades for Shred and your defensive skills.

Just keep filling in whatever you can as you level up and wait for the important ones to unlock. The build still feels good even before you have everything.

Gift of the Stag can help give you that extra Spirit every second. Otherwise the whole Deer category is pretty strong — Wariness for damage reduction against elites, Advantageous Beast for movement speed, and honestly all of them work fine here. Prickleskin is solid too because it boosts your damage against enemies after they hit you.

Always a must take is Avian Wrath from the Eagle category. That flat 40% critical strike damage is a massive multiplier and feels straight-up overpowered.

For your second Eagle boon you can pick whatever you’re missing: Scythe Talons if you want more crit chance, Iron Feather for extra defense, or Swooping Attacks if you need more attack speed.

Aspects for Leveling

For leveling there are a few aspects that are really worth mentioning.

Aspect of Might is very important — it reduces the damage you take, so I recommend keeping it on as much as possible.

I would suggest putting offensive aspects ring or amulet if you have to, but it’s definitely best used on a weapon.

For gloves, you can use the Nighthowler’s gloves (the ones that boost Blood Howl).

I’ve also included the Eluding Aspect for your pants or boots so you can break crowd control more easily.

These are the main ones that will make your leveling experience much smoother.

Paragon Board

The paragon board I showed is just a suggestion.

Rush all the legendary nodes and skip everything else early on. Your glyphs are going to be pretty low level at the beginning, so there’s no point wasting points on filler nodes. Just grab the big legendary bonuses as fast as you can.

Mercenary

Mercenaries

We use Subo with Wire Trap for Movement Speed and Cover Fire for Critical Strike Damage. In addition, Subo provides us with the invaluable ability to see Elites on our Minimap.

Our secondary Mercenary is Raheir with Crater to pull in.

How it Plays

  1. Cataclysm — This is your main source of AoE damage. Cast it first and try to keep it up as much as possible.
  2. Shred — This is your main damage skill. Use it both to move around and to deal massive damage. Make sure you save enough resources before spamming it.
  3. Claw — Your basic skill. It generates resources and deals good poison damage early on. Use this while you’re waiting for Shred to come online.
  4. Cyclone Armor — Keep this up all the time as your main defensive ability.
  5. Blood Howl — Use this on cooldown. It refills your HP and gives you a damage buff. It also refreshes whenever you get kills.
  6. Trample — Use this on cooldown for mobility and to become Unstoppable. It’s your main way to break out of crowd control.

How it Works

Shred has amazing mobility because it can jump to targets.

We use Cataclysm as our ultimate because it can turn into a wolf form, and more importantly, it has great damage early on. It’s also a really strong early game ability that heals everything around you while you’re running through packs.

Runes

Before we get access to Legendary Runes, we will use Moni + Que to keep ourselves Unstoppable and make us tankier.

Cir + Zec will be used for better Ultimate uptime.
