I killed Mephisto quickly on T12 without using the 3x damage from Grizzly Rage and no Lightning Storm active.

This build uses Storm Strike to absolutely eviscerate bosses while damaging nearby enemies with chains of lightning and Lightning Storm. This has top tier DPS and survivability!

  • Check additional tabs for alternate variations of the build.
  • I moved the Wolf tabs to a new planner called Flicker Wolf.

Important Notes

  • Resolve caps at 30 now, so you don't need to go over.
  • Barrier Generation on gloves can be changed to Critical Strike Damage if you have 100% Barrier for Earthen Bulwark.

Stat Priorities

Offensive

  1. Critical Strike Chance (No more than 100%)
  2. Critical Strike Damage Multiplier (Main GA and Masterwork focus)
  3. Attack Speed (No more than 100% and factor in Wolves, Ferocity, and Varyana.)
  4. Vulnerable Damage Multiplier (Masterwork upgrade at least one with GA)
  5. Lightning/All Damage Multiplier (Masterwork upgrade at least one with GA)
  6. Skill Ranks
  7. Weapon Damage (Only on weapons)
  8. Willpower (Always prioritize on armor)

Defensive

  1. Maximum Life (You want this on all items unless you feel you can remove some and stay alive)
  2. Resistance (Get as much as you can without giving up Willpower or other important affixes)
  3. Armor (Be sure to have at least one affix on items minimum, but get as much as you can)

Utility

  1. Movement Speed (No more than 200%)
  2. Cooldown Reduction (Just enough to maintain Cataclysm 100% of the time)

  • Ranks to Nature Magic Skills are best. Ranks to Shapeshifting, Storm and Werebear Skills also work but are less ideal.

Important Notes

  • You can use Grizzly Rage for more DPS.
  • Iron Feather can be used instead of Avian Wrath for more survivability.
  • Calamity can be changed to Energize for better DPS if the Ultimate duration is not needed.
  • Poison Creeper can be used for passive Fortify if you prefer a 1 button build. You would remove Debilitating Roar.
  • Cyclone Armor is used automatically through Berú of the Storm Shepherd 3 piece set bonus for survivability.
  • Earthen Bulwark is used automatically with Que Rune for Barrier, Fortify, Healing, Resolve Stacks, and Unstoppable.
  • Wolves are entirely passive for an Attack Speed buff.

Skill Rotations

  1. Activate Lightning Storm and Hurricane to deal damage, proc Calm Before the Storm, Weaken enemies, and increase Movement Speed (You can re-cast Lightning Storm at 4 Ferocity stacks for faster strikes).
  2. Use and maintain Cataclysm consistently for damage and to apply Vulnerable.
  3. Spam Storm Strike to kill everything.

Important Notes

  • Skill point distribution will depend on your needs. Earthen Bulwark should be 100% Barrier and the rest can be dumped into Cyclone Armor for more survivability or Lightning Storm for more damage.
  • Hero of the Storm Lightning Storm doesn't show damage increases from skill ranks but it does benefit from them.

  • Prioritize getting all Legendary Nodes before all else. Example: Thunderstruck
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 25 before going higher unless you cannot equip the next Glyph yet.
  • Prioritize all Glyphs to level 50 before going higher on any.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why am I squishy?

A: Survivability is all about stacking multiple layers of damage mitigation and sustain. You want Maximum Life on every piece of gear because it prevents one shots and your Barrier from Earthen Bulwark scales with Maximum Life. The build has great healing built in, so focus on reducing damage taken by stacking All Elemental Resistances and Armor. The Gems on jewelry are very high value to prevent the worst types of damage. Be sure to make sure you get Damage Reduction items and Aspects as recommended in the guide or alternatives listed below them.

  • Changed Paingorger's Gauntlets to Fists of Fate since Paingorger's Gauntlets was only working for the 1st hit of the chain with Storm Strike.
