Huohuo Character Guide

Huohuo is a Path of Abundance Wind character released in patch 1.5.

Huohuo is a powerful support character fulfilling the healer role while also providing substantial offensive buffs for the party, like what would be expected from a Path of Harmony character.

All of Huohuo’s healing is tied to her skill which cleanses and provides Healing to a single ally and heals all adjacent allies, while also putting stacks of her Talent which passively heals allies during Ultimates or the start of their turn and cleanses the ally who is healed. Her ultimate provides energy recharge for all Huohuo’s teammates as well as an ATK% buff for 2 turns giving her very high party utility.

Overall Huohuo fills a similar role to Luocha, but arguably has even better utility depending on the content. Huohuo is one of the strongest defensive supports in the game and gets even better with Eidolons gaining a SPD buff at E1 and a DMG% buff at E6.

Why Play Huohuo?

Pros

• Solid healing that is not linked to Huohuo’s turn, helping mitigate one-shots.
• Strong energy regeneration and ATK% buffs for the party
• Consistent cleansing for the entire party

Cons

• Healing is tied to her skill, so she will always need to consume some SP, but her talent helps offset the SP consumption.

• Huohuo generally prioritizes building HP% as all her values scale off of it, but she also benefits greatly from Outgoing
• Healing % and SPD. Huohuo is a very universal healer who offers excellent offensive support and cleanses for the party.

Abilities

Basic ATK – Banner: Stormcaller

Deals Wind DMG equal to 25%—55% of Huohuo’s Max HP to a target enemy.

Skill – Talisman: Protection

Dispels 1 debuff(s) from a single target ally and immediately restores this ally’s HP by an amount equal to 14%—22.4% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 140—623. At the same time, restores HP for allies that are adjacent to this target ally by an amount equal to 11.2%—17.92% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 112—498.4.

Ultimate – Tail: Spiritual Domination

Regenerates Energy for all allies (excluding this character) by an amount equal to 15%—21% of their respective Max Energy. At the same time, increases their ATK by 24%—43.2% for 2 turn(s).

Talent – Possession: Ethereal Metaflow

After using her Skill, Huohuo gains Divine Provision, lasting for 2 turn(s). This duration decreases by 1 turn at the start of each Huohuo’s turn. If Huohuo has Divine Provision when an ally’s turn starts or when an ally uses their Ultimate, restores HP for that ally by an amount equal to 3%—4.8% of Huohuo’s Max HP plus 30—133.5. At the same time, every ally with 50% HP or lower receives healing once.
When Divine Provision is triggered to heal an ally, dispel 1 debuff(s) from that ally. This effect can be triggered up to 6 time(s). Using the skill again resets the effect’s trigger count.

Technique Fiend – Impeachment of Evil

Huohuo terrorizes surrounding enemies, afflicting Horror-Struck on them. Enemies in Horror-Struck will flee away from Huohuo for 10 second(s). When entering battle with enemies in Horror-Struck, there is a 100% base chance of reducing every single enemy’s ATK by 25% for 2 turn(s).

Eidolons

Huohuo is a very powerful character without any Eidolons and does not need them to excel. However, for those looking to spend or save more additional copies of Huohuo there are some added benefits. Huohuo will perform well at E0 but here is a quickassessment of her Eidolons:

Eidolon 1: Anchored to Vessel, Specters Nestled

The duration of Divine Provision produced by the Talent is extended by 1 turn(s). When Huohuo possesses Divine Provision, all allies’ SPD increases by 12%.

Eidolon 2: Sealed in Tail, Wraith Subdued

If Huohuo possesses Divine Provision when an ally is struck by a killing blow, the ally will not be knocked down, and their HP will immediately be restored by an amount equal to 50% of their Max HP. This reduces the duration of Divine Provision by 1 turn. This effect can only be triggered 2 time(s) per battle.

Eidolon 3: Cursed by Fate, Moths to Flame

Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Eidolon 4: Tied in Life, Bound to Strife

When healing a target ally via Skill or Talent, the less HP the target ally currently has, the higher the amount of healing they will receive. The maximum increase in healing provided by Huohuo is 80%.

Eidolon 5: Mandated by Edict, Evils Evicted

Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

Eidolon 6: Woven Together, Cohere Forever

When healing a target ally, increases the target ally’s DMG dealt by 50% for 2 turn(s).

Relics

Stat Priority

Huohuo scales primarily off HP% and Outgoing Healing % while also benefiting from speed, making her similar to most other healers to build. Energy Regen Rate is a good option for players who feel Huohuo’s healing is already sufficient and want to focus more on her offensive/party utility capabilities.

Cavern of Corrosion Sets

Set bonuses should ultimately just be thought of as additional substats, and the weight of 4-Pc sets is very low. Mixing and matching two different 2-Pc bonuses can often be more optimal than completing a 4-Pc set bonus if it allows you to use substantially better relics. As with most healers and supports, correct main stat is the most important and sub stats are just nice extra bonuses.

Relic Sets

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace 4 Piece

2 Piece: Increases SPD by 6%.
4 Piece: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn(s). This effect cannot be stacked.

The most offensively oriented set, good for players who are not worried about survivability and want to optimize clear time/party utility.

Passerby of Wandering Cloud and Longevous Disciple 2Pc

2 Piece: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
2 Piece: Increases Max HP by 12%.

This set combination offers the highest amount of survivability and is a good option for players wanting to make sure their team stays alive.

Passerby of Wandering Cloud and Messenger Traversing Hackerspace 2 Pc

2 Piece: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
2 Piece: Increases SPD by 6%.

This set combination offers a good balance of survivability and SPD. Longevous can also be used in place of Passerby, depending on user’s relics.

Passerby of Wandering Cloud 4pc

2 Piece: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
4 Piece: At the beginning of the battle, immediately recovers 1 Skill Point.

Outgoing Healing % helps party survivability and the extra skill point helps improve clear times, especially for accounts that can clear content very quickly. The longer the encounters last, the less the skill point matters.

Planar Ornament Sets

Fleet of the Ageless

2 Piece: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.

Provides HP% which is Huohuo’s most desired stat while also providing good party utility. This set does everything Huohuo wants.

Broken Keel

2-Piece: Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 10%. When the wearer’s Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%.

This provides solid party utility and helps prevent crowd control effects on Huohuo making it a solid choice for players who have it available.

Light Cones

Night of Fright (5*)

Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 12~20%. When any ally uses their Ultimate, the wearer restores HP for the ally currently with the lowest HP percentage by an amount equal to 10~14% of the healed ally’s Max HP. When the wearer provides healing for an ally, increases the healed ally’s ATK by 2.4~4.0%. This effect can stack up to 5 times and lasts for 2 turn(s).

Huohuo’s featured light cone is custom made for her granting her both significantly better party utility through Ultimate up time and ATK% buffs, while also improving her healing output. Night of Fright is easily Huohuo’s best light cone, which is no surprise for a featured weapon.

Post-Op Conversation (4*)

Increases the wearer’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 8~16% and increases Outgoing Healing when they use their Ultimate by 12~24%.

Post-Op offers energy regeneration which can help Huohuo ultimate every 3 turns, but the outgoing healing for her ultimate is completely wasted.

Shared Feeling (4*)

Increases the wearer’s Outgoing Healing by 10~20%. When using Skill, regenerates 2~4 Energy for all allies.

A great 4* option that provides a good mix of Outgoing Healing% and party utility.

Quid Pro Quo (4*)

At the start of the wearer’s turn, regenerates 8~16 Energy for a randomly chosen ally (excluding the wearer) whose current Energy is lower than 50%.

This cone is an excellent supportive option for players who want to help further improve Huohuo’s party utility.

Teammatess

Huohuo is a universal defensive support that can be played in pretty much any party so feel free to play her with whichever characters you like. However, certain characters have especially good synergy and will be mentioned here.

Offensive Supports

Tingyun – High Synergy

Tingyun already offers Energy Regen and ATK buffs, which Huohuo also provides so they generally both work well with the same characters. Additionally, Huohuo granting Tingyun as well as all other allies’ energy, pairs very nicely with Tingyun’s ultimate and provides very high energy regeneration for a character.

Bronya – High Synergy

Bronya usually can’t maintain full uptime on her Ultimate so the extra energy regen from Huohuo can help improve this making them a very good pairing.

Carries

Jingliu

Jingliu benefits greatly from the energy regeneration as it helps her Ultimate for frequently and maintain more uptime on her enhanced Skill.

Kafka

Kafka only scales with ATK%, SPD, Energy and Damage, so the supports that benefit her are somewhat limited. Huohuo’s entire kit applies nicely to Kafka, and Kafka is often used in two DPS team comps which means Huohuo will be buffing two carries.

Topaz

Topaz has high energy requirements for her Ultimate making her benefit nicely from Huohuo’s kit. Additionally, Topaz is often played with another carry for Follow-Up synergy, making Huohuo’s kit apply to multiples carries.

Sample Team Comps

Jing Liu Hyper

Jing Liu, Tingyun, Bronya, Huohuo

Tingyun and Bronya help maximize Jingliu’s damage and work very well with her low SP consumption. Huohuo’s kit helps maintain uptime on buffs and Jingliu’s skill.

Huohuo Double DPS

Topaz, Kafka, Tingyun, Huohuo

This team has good follow up synergy and makes good use of party buffs to provide consistent damage to both AoE and single target. Himeko can be nicely substituted for either carry as well.
