Honkai Star Rail Guide: Fu Xuan Best Relics Teams and More

Honkai Star Rail Fu Xuan Guide

Fu Xuan is a Path of Preservation Quantum character released in patch 1.3. She is a powerful defensive character that sustains the entire party by redirecting damage to herself while also providing healing, damage reduction, Max HP, CC Resist and CRIT Rate buffs for the entire party. Fu Xuan’s self heal being automatically triggered when she falls below 50% HP means she is always capable of healing even when it’s not her turn, making her very difficult to one shot.

Why Play Fu Xuan?

Pros

  • Strong party wide sustain
  • Healing not linked to her turn making her resilient to one shots
  • Damage reduction helps prevent party members from being one shot
  • Provides good utility with CC Resist, HP and CRIT Rate Buffs
  • Skill Point positive, only needing to use skill once every 3 turns following the rotation of Skill, Attack, Attack

Cons

  • Her party healing is limited meaning eventually enemies may out damage her sustain, but in practice she offers more than enough sustain for all of the current content in the game.
  • Fu Xuan generally prioritizes Max HP% as most of her talents scale on it. However she also benefits from DEF to increase her personal survivability and SPD which helps generate skill points and energy for her ultimate.

Abilities

Basic ATK – Novaburst

Novaburst

Deals Quantum DMG equal to 25%—55% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP to a single enemy.

Skill – Known by Stars, Shown by Hearts

Known by Stars, Shown by Hearts

Activates Matrix of Prescience, via which other team members will Distribute 65% of the DMG they receive (before this DMG is mitigated by any Shields) to Fu Xuan for 3 turn(s).
While affected by Matrix of Prescience, all team members gain the Knowledge effect, which increases their respective Max HP by 3%—6.6% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP, and increases CRIT Rate by 6%—13.2%.
When Fu Xuan is knocked down, the Matrix of Prescience will be dispelled.

Ultimate – Woes of Many Morphed to One

Woes of Many Morphed to One

Deals Quantum DMG equal to 60%—108% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP to all enemies and obtains 1 trigger count for the HP Restore effect granted by Fu Xuan’s Talent.

Talent – Bleak Breeds Bliss

Bleak Breeds Bliss

While Fu Xuan is still active in battle, Misfortune Avoidance is applied to the entire team. With Misfortune Avoidance, allies take 10%—19.6% less DMG.

When Fu Xuan’s current HP falls to 50% of her Max HP or less, HP Restore will be triggered for Fu Xuan, restoring her HP by 80%—92% of the amount of HP she is currently missing. This effect cannot be triggered if she receives a killing blow. This effect possesses 1 trigger count by default and can have a maximum of 2 trigger counts.

Technique – Of Fortune Comes Fate

Of Fortune Comes Fate

After the Technique is used, all team members receive a Barrier, lasting for 20 seconds. This Barrier can block all enemy attacks, and the team will not enter battle when attacked. Entering battle while the Barrier is active will have Fu Xuan automatically activate Matrix of Prescience at the start of the battle, lasting for 2 turn(s).

Traces

Taiyi, the Macrocosmic – Requires Character Ascension 2

Taiyi, the Macrocosmic

When Matrix of Prescience is active, Fu Xuan will regenerate 20 extra Energy when she uses her Skill.

Dunjia, the Metamystic – Requires Character Ascension 4

Dunjia, the Metamystic

When Fu Xuan’s Ultimate is used, heals all other allies by an amount equal to 5% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP plus 133.

Liuren, the Sexagenary – Requires Character Ascension 6

Liuren, the Sexagenary

If a target enemy applies Crowd Control debuffs to allies while the Matrix of Prescience is active, all allies will resist all Crowd Control debuffs applied by the enemy target during the current action. This effect can only be triggered once. When Matrix of Prescience is activated again, the number of times this effect can be triggered will reset.

Eidolons

Fu Xuan  is a very powerful character without any Eidolons and does not need them to excel. However for those looking to spend or save more additional copies of Fu Xuan there are some added benefits. Fu Xuan  will perform well at E0 but here is a quick assessment of her Eidolons:

  • E1 – high impact – universal party wide buff
  • E2 – medium impact – good quality of life and stability, but not useful if party is already stable
  • E3 – low impact
  • E4 – low impact – more energy regeneration allows for greater sustain
  • E5 – low impact
  • E6 – medium impact – decent damage boost to Fu Xuan but not crucial for her to sustain the party. Can allow her to be played as a Sub DPS

Eidolon 1: Dominus Pacis

The Knowledge effect increases CRIT DMG by 30%.

Eidolon 2: Optimus Felix

If any team member is struck by a killing blow while Matrix of Prescience is active, then all allies who were struck by a killing blow during this action will not be knocked down, and 70% of their Max HP is immediately restored. This effect can trigger 1 time per battle.

Eidolon 3: Apex Nexus

Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.

Eidolon 4: Fortuna Stellaris

When other allies under Matrix of Prescience are attacked, Fu Xuan regenerates 5 Energy.

Eidolon 5: Arbiter Primus

Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.

Eidolon 6: Omnia Vita

Once Matrix of Prescience is activated, it will keep a tally of the total HP lost by all team members in the current battle. Fu Xuan’s Ultimate DMG will increase by 200% of this tally of HP loss.
This tally is also capped at 120% of Fu Xuan’s Max HP and the tally value will reset and re-accumulate after Fu Xuan’s Ultimate is used.

Relics

Stat Priority

Fu Xuan generally prioritizes Max HP% as most of her talents scale on it. However she also benefits from DEF to increase her personal survivability and SPD which helps generate skill points and energy for her ultimate.

General stat priority

  1. Max HP %
  2. SPD and DEF
  3. Max HP
  4. ERR (Energy Recharge Rate)

Main Stats by Relic Type

Body

1. Crit Rate
2. Crit DMG
3. ATK %

Feet

1. SPD

Planar Sphere

1. Max HP%
2. ATK %

Link Rope

Max HP% to reduce one shot potential or ERR % to improve sustain and damage

Cavern of Corrosion Sets

Set bonuses should ultimately just be thought of as additional substats, and Fu Xuan doesn’t make great use of any current 4 PC bonuses. Instead, mix and match 2-Pc bonuses of any of the following sets prioritizing strong substats

Longevous Disciple  – 2Pc or 4Pc

Honkai Star Rail Longevous Disciple

  • 2-Pc: 12% Max HP
  • 4-Pc: 8% Crit Rate when hit or HP is consumed for 2 turns, up to 2 stacks

More Max HP% scales most of Fu Xuan’s values and helps reduce her ability to be one shot.

Messenger Traversing Hackerspace – 2Pc

Honkai Star Rail Messenger Traversing Hackerspace

  • 2-Pc: Increases SPD by 6%.
  • 4-Pc: When the wearer uses their Ultimate on an ally, SPD for all allies increases by 12% for 1 turn(s). This effect cannot be stacked.

SPD is useful for SP generation. The 4PC can not be procced by Fu Xuan’s ultimate making it not useful.

Guard of Wuthering Snow – 2Pc

Honkai Star Rail Guard of Wuthering Snow

  • 2-Pc: Reduces DMG taken by 8%.
  • 4-Pc: At the beginning of the turn, if the wearer’s HP is equal to or less than 50% of their Max HP, restores HP equal to 8% of their Max HP and regenerates 5 Energy.

Damage reduction improves Fu Xuan’s survivability and effective HP. The 4PC is not recommended because she auto heals herself once she is below 50% meaning it has limited to no uptime.

Passerby of Wandering Cloud– 2Pc

Honkai Star Rail Passerby of Wandering Cloud

  • 2-Pc: Increases Outgoing Healing by 10%.
  • 4-Pc: At the beginning of the battle, immediately recovers 1 Skill Point.

Outgoing Healing does improve Fu Xuan’s personal and party wide sustain. The 4PC bonus can be decent for speed running as the extra skill point is worth more in short encounters.

Planar Ornament Sets

Fleet of the Ageless

Honkai Star Rail Fleet of the Ageless

  • 2-Pc: Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 12%. When the wearer’s SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies’ ATK increases by 8%.

Max HP% helps scale most of Fu Xuan’s values and the party ATK % buff is useful for many DPS.

Other planar ornament sets are not recommended as their set bonuses have much lower value than Fleet’s. Even just correct main stat with no relevant substats should be sufficient.

Light Cones

1. She Already Shut Her Eyes

She Already Shut Her Eyes

Increases the wearer’s Max HP by 24% and Energy Regeneration Rate by 12%.
When the wearer’s HP is reduced, all allies’ DMG dealt increases by 9.0%, lasting for 2 turn(s).
At the start of every wave, restores HP to all allies by an amount equal to 80% of their respective lost HP.

Fu Xuan‘s signature weapon is her best in slot as it gives her personal survivability, team wide damage bonus and party sustain for select encounters. This lightcone boosts everything Fu Xuan wants to be doing.

2. Texture of Memories

Texture of Memories

Increases the wearer’s Effect RES by 8~16%. If the wearer is attacked and has no Shield, they gain a Shield equal to 16~32% of their Max HP for 2 turn(s). This effect can only be triggered once every 3 turn(s). If the wearer has a Shield when attacked, the DMG they receive decreases by 12~24%.

The Max HP scaling shield adds considerable sustain for Fu Xuan and is the premiere defensive option for free to play accounts as it is obtainable from the Simulated Universe Herta Store.

3. Day One of My New Life

Day One of My New Life

Increases wearer’s DEF by 16~24%. After entering battle, increases DMG RES of all allies by 8~12%. Effects of the same type cannot stack.

DEF and DMG RES are both good ways to help with Fu Xuan’s survivability.

Teams

Fu Xuan is a very universal defensive support and can be slotted into any team comp, while also providing good party utility. DPS that can utilize Crit and Max HP benefit more, but she can also just be played for her sustain if needed.

Fu Xuan is SP positive as she only needs to use a Skill once every 3 turns, allowing her to pair with any character. This flexible nature of Fu Xuan makes her highly desirable and easy to build teams with.

Honkai Star Rail Fu Xuan Team

Notable Teammates

Silver Wolf – High Synergy

Silver Wolf is an excellent offensive support who benefits from Fu Xuan also being Quantum. Teams which use Silver Wolf, Fu Xuan and a Quantum DPS such as Seele or Qingque are very flexible and can slot in any support or SubDPS who matches an element type with the enemy weakness to guarantee Quantum Weak on the enemy from Silver Wolf’s skill.

Fu Xuan is still very good even outside of Quantum based Silver Wolf teams.
