TFT Set 10 – Remix Rumble: Emerald Rank Release

Emerald Rank is Coming to TFT

Emerald Rank

If you’ve been keeping up with other Riot Games, you might know that Wild Rift and LoL have an Emerald Rank. With Set 10, TFT will also be introducing Emerald Rank. Here’s a quick rundown of some details you might want to know.

Emerald Rank Details

The Emerald Rank will be after Platinum and before Diamond. For the most part, the goal of Emerald is to better differentiate the skill of players in high Platinum and low Diamond.

For a direct conversion, you can think of the range of Plat 1 – Diamond 1 turning into Emerald 4 – Diamond 1.

How Emerald will Affect your MMR

For a TLDR, Emerald doesn’t really change anything. Matchmaking is based on an algorithm that uses your hidden MMR. This MMR also determines how much LP you gain or lose when you play a game. Emerald tier is a way to change the average mmr placement.

If a majority of players were high Silver to low Gold, adding Emerald tier will simply make it so that the majority of players are now placed in gold.

For players that reach high Diamond or Masters and above, Emerald tier shouldn’t affect too much. It may make the climb slightly longer, but it shouldn’t be much different.

Closing Words

All in all, the Emerald tier is mainly a new badge to show off your rank. It shouldn’t affect your experience too much, so don’t worry too much about the details.
