4 Off-Meta Decks Worth Trying Out (Post-Patch 2.5.0)

4 Off-Meta Decks Worth Trying Out (Post-Patch 2.5.0)

Hey everyone!

Precipic here with another off-meta article series where I look at both the data for unique decks with reasonable win rates and decks from the community.

The most recent patch added a ton of new things to play around with now that many of the biggest decks got nerfed.

So let’s look at some of these lists:

  1. Swain Kindred
  2. Gangplank Sejuani
  3. RubinZoo Zoe P&Z
  4. Teal Red Draven Bots

1. Swain Kindred

[See Swain Kindred deck details]

The first deck here is Swain Kindred which comes in with a 53.9 % win rate.

This list got a lot better with the rise of aggressive strategies like Spider Aggro and other Legion Rearguard decks because of its fast array of removal.

This is also a fantastic Kindred deck because it has a ton of ways of triggering her slay and killing off the small units so that her trigger actually kills the bigger units you want to kill.

Whispered words and Rekinder also do a lot to give this deck a better long game once you have full control of the board.

If you see a lot of aggressive strategies this deck is a pretty reasonable choice.

2. Gangplank Sejuani

Gang Plank Sejunai (LoR Deck)

Coming in with a 53% win rate Gangplank Sejuani is an old classic deck that utilizes some of the most synergistic champs in all of Legends of Runeterra.

Gangplank and Sejunai have literally the same level-up condition and both play for a pure midrange game plan.

They got a pretty big upgrade with The Dreadway’s mana cost reduction with the latest patch.

This deck has quite a few ways to get damage triggered on both your turn and the opponent’s turn and should have both its champions leveled by turn 7|8.

Gangplank Sejuani should do pretty well into any midrange Demacia deck. But it struggles with more burn-focused strategies like spider aggro.

However, it is a pretty fun deck when you get to pop off and I’d recommend it if you want to play with some of the coolest champion level-ups in the game.

3. RubinZoo Zoe P&Z

The next two decks come from two different members of the Runeterra community.

The first comes from Steve Rubin, the lead of live design for Legends of Runeterra.

The list is a pretty sweet Subpurrsible Zoe P&Z deck coming in with a 54.6% win rate.

Subpurrsible (LoR Card)

The list features a ton of fantastic anti-aggressive tools with a bunch of cheap removal, life gain, and small blockers.

It’s also got some pretty great tools for out valuing other midrange decks.

The most notable thing about the list is that all of the champions in the deck function super well because of how many cards in the deck generate other cards.

Viktor and Zoe should level super quickly, Vi should get to 10 attack very fast and the deck even has Bastion to protect them.

I highly recommend this list if you enjoy generating a massive pile of cards off of every single spell in your deck.

4. Teal Red Draven Bots

This list comes from one of the wildest deck builders in the community, TealRed.

This list doesn’t have stats currently and I can’t really claim that the deck is super competitive or anything.

However, this list is just really cool.

The list looks to combo kill its opponent with a bunch of 0 mana Plaza Guardians plus Shunpo.

Plaza Guardian (LoR Card)

It runs a ton of draw tools to get through its deck super quickly with Rummage, Whispered Words, and Stress Testing.

Stress Testing (LoR card)

The list also runs Flash of Brilliance as a 3 of which both helps power up your Tri-Beam Improbulators super quickly, helps grow your Assembly Bots, and helps make Plaza Guardian cheap super quickly.

It’s likely pretty bad into aggressive strategies, should do pretty well into other midrange decks, and it has the ability to beat control.

I wouldn’t recommend this deck as a high-tier climbing deck, however, as a fun off-meta deck, I think this is a great choice.

That’s it for me today. I’ll be back later with another collection of interesting off-meta decks. See you next time.
