Diablo 4 Efficient Leveling Guide

How to Level Efficiently in Diablo 4

Hello everyone and welcome to Goblin Inc’s efficient leveling guide.

My name is Ruse Cruize and today we are going to be covering the quickest ways to level.

We are going to be going over everything from the very start of the leveling process to the very end of the leveling process.

The goal of this guide is to allow you to quickly and easily reach that juicy level 100.

To find the best leveling builds recommended by top creators, head to our Diablo 4 site.

World Tier 1

Diablo 4 World Tier

Start in World Tier 1 and blast through campaign if it’s your first character.

Do your class quest as soon as you hit 15 to unlock your class unique mechanic. Prioritize getting through Act 3 as this is when you will get your mount.

As you move through the campaign, stop to pick up Lilith Statues and complete strongholds. If you start to fall behind in levels target dungeons that give you aspects that your class needs.

If you have farmed up your Aspects and you find yourself still needing more power then focus on leveling up your renown in each region. Getting 3 renown in each region is ideal as this will give you a total of 10 extra skill points, as well as 5 extra health potions.

Note: If it’s not your first character you can skip the campaign. I suggest that you focus on doing the Tree of Whisper as it gives lots of XP and Gear, and can be farmed simultaneously with other things like Dungeons and World Events.

Levels 45-55

After you finish the campaign focus on getting to level 3 Renown in each zone. This will give you a total of 10 extra skill points, which is going to significantly increase your character’s power. Focus on doing Strongholds first as they give the most renown.

At around level 45 is when you should try to defeat the Capstone Dungeon to unlock World Tier 3.

  • World Tier 3 will give you significantly better loot and xp.
  • We want to be at least level 45 so that you have enough power to efficiently farm the tier, as well as having the required level to equip gear from it.

The capstone boss is a tank check, not a damage check. Focus on getting tanky enough to survive hits over damage.

Diablo 4 Helltides

When reaching World Tier 3 the first thing you should do are Helltides as you get guaranteed Sacred Legendary Items as well as important crafting materials for later in the game.

  • Helltides are World Events that spawn every couple of hours. They last for 1 hour, and you should do them while they are up.
  • Prioritize getting sacred weapons, and then just focus on replacing your weakest items.
  • Keep in mind that Helltides are higher level than the rest of the area. If you are having trouble in them feel free to leave and keep pushing your renown up to level 3 in each zone.

Diablo 4 Renown

After you get geared out from Helltides make sure you finish your level 3 Renown grind. While doing your renown grind specifically target dungeons that have the Tree of Whispers buff, so that you can get both at the same time.

Once you’re done with Renown I suggest you do Tree of Whispers for the gear, mats, and XP.

After doing Tree of Whispers until around level 55 I suggest you do about 10-15 Nightmare Dungeons to farm up all of your glyphs so you’ll have them for later levels.

Levels 75-100 Grind

Diablo 4 Champion's Demise

After farming your glyphs you’ll be moving into the big grinds. The absolute best XP in the game is to have a party of at least 2 but preferably 3 players and do splits in Champion’s Demise.

This method involves splitting your group down each lane, and then blasting them all simultaneously. Your Legendaries and Uniques from other lanes will get sent to your stash.

  • You reset the dungeon by having one person leave the party, which will teleport them outside the dungeon. Everyone else should then request to join them. The person who’s party everyone is joining should wait to accept people until they are.
  • This method of farming is extremely repetitive, and you should only do it if you’re wanting to be efficient.
  • I dont recommend this method for hardcore unless you are very confident about your character’s power

Nightmare dungeons are a nice alternative because you are able to level up glyphs, which can significantly increase your characters power.

  • Slower XP but significantly better for character power.
  • Need to be very efficient in town to maximize your XP/HR.
  • If you’re in a party the fastest town player should be going to the dungeons, then everyone TP on them.
  • Always be doing a low enough dungeon that you can smash it.

General Tips

  • Generally your highest Damage Per Second weapon will be your best choice.
  • For Rings and Amulets, you only care about the stats that are on them, not their item level.
  • For your Armor you want to focus on getting good stats, but don’t overlook the armor increase you get from high item level pieces.
  • Gems in every slot are insanely op and you need to have gems in all of your gear. As a general rule, I suggest Topaz in Armor and Skulls in Jewelry.
  • For your weapon you should pick what works best for your build.
  • It’s almost always better to clear easy content quickly than to clear hard content slowly
  • It’s extremely important to know what stats are good for your build for each slot of gear. The tankiness and damage gained from having a well stated character is massive.
  • Check the shops every once in a while for gear, they can have some incredible items in them.
  • Most progression in the game is gated behind your tankiness, rather than your damage. When you’re preparing for a Capstone dungeon, starting a new World tier, or getting ready to fight a challenging boss, you should prioritize survivability.
  • Rares are equivalent to Legendaries in terms of stats. Make sure you are picking them up and looking them over!
