Bangboo Tier List & All Bangboo List ZZZ
Welcome to our Zenless Zone Zero Tier List covering all of the Bangboos. While tier lists are never perfect, they’re a good resource to understand your priority for pulls. The same can be said for our ZZZ Agent Tier List.
Bangboos are essentially like pets for your team, helping out your Agents with active/passive abilities. Some Bangboos can even Chain Attack, extending the burst damage window your team deals when you Stun an enemy.
For more information on Bangboos, you can read our full ZZZ Bangboo Guide.
Bangboos are acquired through a specific banner, and you can select which S Rank Bangboo you want to pull for. This makes it extremely important to target the right one.
Our tier list hopes to guide you toward making better decisions when acquiring Bangboos.

ZZZ Methodology & Bangboo Meta
Overall, Bangboos are not an extremely important aspect of team building. When it comes to performance, they generally don’t provide that much. In the current game, you can likely run your teams without a Bangboo and still be fine.
If you want to squeeze out every bit of performance from your team, then you’ll simply want to pick a good Bangboo for your team. Does your team have 2 Ice Agents? Then you can use Sharkboo. Two NEPS? Officer Cui and so on.
Grouping & Healing
However, there are two groups of Bangboos that exist outside of this dynamic. These are Bangboos that provide grouping effects or healing effects. Because these effects are universal, you can use them on any team without worrying about synergy. This gives them a higher tier rating than other Bangboos of a similar rank.
Resonaboo & Magnetiboo (Grouping)
Grouping effects come from Resonaboo and Magnetiboo. These two will randomly use their skill and may group small enemies together. This can greatly increase your run speed if you get lucky, but they won’t be consistent performers. Even still, getting a lucky run when you’re trying to get an S Rank clear or speed run can be very valuable.
Exploreboo & Avocaboo (Healing)
On the other hand, healing doesn’t provide a meta buff, but it gives you QOL. If you’re tackling the new Shiyu Defense: Disputed Node, you’ll notice that enemies hit VERY hard. Having some healing from your Bangboo can keep your team alive if you don’t want to reset constantly.
As ZZZ releases more content where survival is the goal instead of time-based clears, the quality of life healing Bangboos provide (Exploreboo/Avocaboo) becomes very valuable.
Elemental Bangboos
One more thing I want to note is that the “elemental” Bangboos (Plugboo/Electroboo for Electric, etc) perform much better when you have multiple copies. For example, a maxed out Electroboo (5 stars/A Rank) performs about the same as Plugboo (1 star/S Rank).
The higher stars/duplicates up the Anomaly Buildup immensely, which benefits both regular and Anomaly teams. For example, for a Soldier 11 team, you want consistent Burn uptime to deal more damage with the Inferno Metal set.
If you really want to all in on one Bangboo, you use all your pulls on Plugboo for your Electric team. However, many people do save their Boopons in case ZZZ releases an exceptionally strong Bangboo. While this is unlikely, as time passes and you build different teams, having extra Boopons to cover your bases can be a good idea.
If you’re set on using a Grouping/Healing Bangboo, then you can simply save up and wait for another Bangboo that you like.
Faction Bangboos
Right now, there are four Bangboos that are tied to factions.
- Officer Cui (CISRT/NEPS)
- Butler (Victoria Housekeeping)
- Amillion (Cunning Hares)
- Safety (Belobog Heavy Industries)
Of these four, we only consider Officer Cui to be worthwhile. Since he’s a new release, he has much better stats than other Bangboos, and does contribute quite a bit of Daze, Anomaly, and damage.
Butler gives Energy, but it’s quite miniscule and we recommend Ellen teams go for Sharkboo instead. Amillion can do very high damage in Hollow Zero for fun, but doesn’t do that much outside of that. Lastly, Safety is in a similar situation. If you are running Anton/Grace, we recommend Plugboo for consistent Shock uptime.
Disclaimer: Don’t Worry Too Much
At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter too much what Bangboo you use. If you have a double Physical team, you can use the free 5 star Luckyboo given during Version 1.1. If you want to use the same Bangboo on many teams, you can level up Resonaboo, Magnetiboo, Exploreboo, or Avocaboo.
Or maybe you care more about team aesthetic and use a matching Bangboo for every team. In terms of meta, you aren’t missing out on that much performance one way or the other, so just go for what you want.
