Scrapper Class Guide – Lost Ark
The Scrapper is an advanced class available to Martial Artists that use heavy gauntlets to throw even heavier punches, gaining her the title as one of the strongest staggers in Lost Ark. Unlike other classes, her abilities don’t cost mana but are made of two different resources which are called Stamina (the yellow bar on the left) and Shock (the green bar on the right). Using Stamina abilities will generate Shock Energy, and using Shock abilities will generate Stamina energy, which is why sometimes you want to focus on maintaining the right balance between the two.
In addition, Scrappers are a really beginner friendly melee class that provide enough sustain with consistent damage while having the needed utility to deal with any challenges throughout the entire endgame.
As a back attacker class, Scrapper wants to deal as much damage as possible from the back of their enemies which is fairly simple with the help of her distinctive double-spacebar-dash.
Besides being somewhat of a tanky melee, the stagger potential is where the Scrapper shines most, which means you will always be a strong addition to the team, as this mechanic will become crucial the further you progress into the endgame.
If you enjoy beating up your enemies with strong, fast, and hard hitting punches, then Scrapper is the class for you.

Comparisons to other classes
When it comes to advanced Martial artist classes – the Scrapper is the tankiest melee that doesn’t have lots of ranged abilities but comes with a lot of built in super armor that helps her stay on both feet in the middle of the fight.
Using the feet in her skills however is something the Scrapper doesn’t do at all compared to any other Martial Artist, which is why she relies almost exclusively on punching with heavy hits.
While the Scrapper provides damage buffs to the party as well as being a true stagger talent with her burst abilities, she’ll ultimately deal less damage than her fellow Martial Artists and feels more like a hybrid support when playing her.

Class Mechanics
Scrappers, just like other Martial Artists, are a burst oriented class. Your ultimate goal is to always make perfect use of your meter, whether you prefer to throw a lot of punches without a specific order in the Taijutsu build, or if you’d rather stick with the classic style of play and go for the Shock Training.
- You start by engaging with your movement skill and then use your double-dash to get behind your enemies. While fully building up your Shock meter with your Stamina skills, you should always try to use your Death Rattle skill to consume the gathered Shock energy, as it deals more damage the more Shock energy you have.
PvE
Due to their strict energy-kit-split, the Taijutsu build is faster and more straightforward, but lacks some AoE as it mainly uses Stamina skills, hence the best way is to have a good mix of Shock and Stamina consuming skills, so run the Shock Training build instead.
You’ll group up as many mobs as you can before dashing into the center and make use of your best AoE skill in Chain Destruction Fist. After that, you want to use some Stamina skills again while new mobs spawn, and then use an AoE skill like True Rising Fist again. This constant switch between Shock and Stamina skills is also usually smooth, so it’s easy to keep a balance between the two meters.
The hard hitting Shock abilities come with great stagger damage as well, which you definitely want to use against single targets during raids or any boss fights.
PvP
As a melee without ranged skills respectively, Scrappers always want to close the distance between them and their opponents in a PvP combat. That doesn’t mean you should jump right into action but more like using your high mobility to either grant yourself backline access to pressure enemy damage dealers or to help peel for your teammates.
The built in Super Armor gives the Scrapper also enough push immunity as protection from any form of CC while using her abilities for the right engage.
As soon as an enemy uses his stand up, make sure to stay close and follow up by using your combos to knock them down again, so that you can unleash your heavy hitting skillshots which will take some time to cast but deal tons of damage.
Core Abilities
Charging Blow
Your main mobility and utility skill that gives you a damage buff which is why you should always pick it, regardless of your playstyle.
Death Rattle
Your main damage Shock skill that comes with good Stagger built into it. This is also a skill you should consider running regardless of your playstyle.
It is also worth mentioning that this skill not only consumes all your stored Shock energy, but the damage is also dependent on how much shock energy you have, so try to use this ability only with a full green bar.
Chain Destruction Fist
By far your best AoE skill that deals tons of damage. It has high cooldown and a longer casting time but is also perfect for clearing endgame content. You smash the ground to shake the earth and knock up all surrounding enemies
Supernova
Another main damage skill with high cooldown that takes a little bit of cast time as well, so make sure you use this skill when your target is not moving.
Roundup Sweep
A solid damage ability with a very fast cast animation which you want to use as a counterattack as it also has a low cooldown.
Dragon Advent
One of another primary damage Stamina skill which can also be used for escaping or chasing heated situations. The skill has good stagger damage.
Battering Fists
A channeling skill that throws a series of punches followed by a short forward jump, which is simply great for dealing lots of damage to single target enemies like Bosses.
Iron Cannon Blow
Another high damage skill that packs multiple punches while also making you move forward.
Awakening Abilities
As with all classes, the Scrapper has access to two awakening abilities.
Undefeated Dragon King
Arises two black Dragons from the ground that deal a good amount of damage and move you to the target location.
Mysterious Art: Blast of Ruination
This Awakening skill gathers the energy and air around you onto your heavy gauntlets to unleash a powerful strike in a line in front of you. Unlike Undefeated Dragon King you really want to stay up close, as its damage differs depending on the distance between you and your target.
Advanced Class Engravings
Every lost ark class has access to engravings that will focus your playstyle in one particular direction. For Scrappers you will choose between the Shock consuming Shock Training and the Stamina consuming Ultimate Skill:Taijutsu.
Shock Training
- The Shock Training playstyle wants you to maintain the right balance between your Shock and Stamina energy, similar to Ying & Yang.
- This playstyle is the hard hitting version of the Scrapper that won’t let you run in any stagger check issues.
- When you choose this Engraving, you want to focus on the Specialization stat first and Crit second.
- As for your skills, you’ll want to pick a good mix between Shock and Stamina skills.
Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu
- The Taijutsu playstyle is pretty straightforward as you’ll have low cooldowns that allow you to spam your Stamina abilities.
- The foundation of this playstyle is a lot of attack speed followed by high mobility so you’ll be able to deal fast paced and consistent damage.
- When you choose this Engraving, you want to focus on the Crit stat first and Swiftness second.
- As for your skills, you’ll want to pick Stamina skills only with the exception of one or two Shock skills to get rid of the excess Shock energy after throwing a pack of punches.
To keep it short, if you decide to play the Taijutsu playstyle, the quantity of punches increases by a lot, but each punch deals less amount of damage in comparison to the Shock playstyle.
Build
Shock Training Build
As already stated in the name, this build focuses mainly on skills that consume green Shock energy.
More than half of your abilities here are heavy hitting burst damage abilities like Death Rattle and Chain Destruction Fist but also comes with insanely fast animations in Roundup Sweep.
Your aim here is to always find the right timing to make sure you release all your stored Shock energy on your target.
Here are some of the skill explanations and tripods you will take (Make sure you have 4 points in every spell and then max them out in the following order:
- Chain Destruction
- 3-3-2
- Heavy hitting high damage AOE skill with good stagger built into, that’s mostly used for clearing clusters of mobs. Use it after applying your damage debuffs with Charging Blow and Fierce Tiger Strike.
- Death Rattle
- 1-2-1
- Main DPS skill that hits extremely hard but takes a little bit to cast so timing is important. Make sure you use it whenever you fill up your entire Shock meter after using Crushing Smite or Fierce Tiger Strike, as its damage enhances the more energy you release with it.
- Supernova
- 3-1-2
- Very similar to Death Rattle. Part of your core DPS after using Charging Blow with long animation that requires right timing.
- True Rising Fist
- 2-1-1
- Instant cast shock skill and second best AOE with good stagger built into. Hold when using it as it has 2 following damage animations. Use it right after Charging Blow.
- Roundup Sweep
- 1-1-1
- Instant cast Shock skill with low cooldown that can be used whenever it’s up, but more importantly for it’s super fast animation as a counterattack so make sure you have it ready whenever your target lights up for a counter.
- Fierce Tiger Strike
- 2-3-1
Instant cast spell that is one of your main sources of meter build up that also applies damage debuffs to your targets. Make sure you use it right after Charging Blow.
- 2-3-1
- Charging Blow
- 3-2-2
- Primary mobility and typical engaging skill / rotation starter that also gives you a damage buff so use it whenever it is up.
- Crushing Smite
- 3-3-0
- Instant cast utility skill that is one of your main sources of meter build up that also applies damage debuffs to your targets. Make sure you use it right after Charging Blow.
Stat Priority
- Prioritize Specialization first and Crit second.
- You’ll need a lot of Specialization to make sure you burst out enough damage with Crit as amplifier.
Runes
- Galewind runes on all your core DPS skills (Chain Destruction Fist, Supernova, Death Rattle)
- Overwhelm on your instant cast Shock skills (True Rising Fist, Roundup Sweep)
- Rage or Bleed on your yellow stamina skills because of their low CD and for faster Shock meter generation
Engraving
- Shock Training lvl 3 ideally for max meter recovery and burst damage
- Master of Ambush as your class is a back attack class but requires you to re-position often.
- Spirit Absorption provides you with more movement and attack speed, making it easier for you to land all your skills
- Grudge and Cursed Doll lvl 3 make great skills once you are an advanced player and can slot them in
Gems
- Prioritize Damage and Cooldown on all the core damage Shock skills.
- Cooldown on your utility Stamina skills (Charging Blow, Crushing Smite, Fierce Tiger Strike)
- Everything else is a bonus
Ultimate Skill: Taijutsu Build
This is more the alternative Scrapper built that’s faster paced and mobile with high movement speed and consistent DPS. Compared to Shock Training the playstyle of Taijutsu is fairly simple as it requires you to hit whatever skills that are off cooldown.
- Battering Fists
- 1-2-1
- Part of your core DPS after using Charging Blow. Hold when using it as it’ll make you deal more damage by throwing a punch after punch. Use it right after Charging Blow.
- Iron Cannon Blow

- Very similar to Battering fists. Part of your core DPS after using Charging Blow. You also want to hold this skill when using it, to get the max amount of damage. Use it right after Charging Blow or Battering Fists.
- Instant Hit
- 1-3-1
- Instant cast counter attack that comes with a tiny dash. Make sure you have it ready whenever your target lights up for a counter.
- Death Rattle
- 1-2-1
- Strong DPS skill that hits hard but takes a little bit to cast which is why timing is important! Use it right after your counter attack to get the most out of your damage with it as it’s also the perfect Shock energy dump since it uses up the entire green shock meter.
- Earthquake Chain
- 2-2-1
- Instant cast spell that is your main source of meter build up. Make sure you use it whenever it is up after buffing yourself up with Charging Blow.
- Dragon Advent
- 3-2-1

- Charging Blow
- 3-2-2
- Primary mobility and typical engaging skill / rotation starter that also gives you a damage buff so use it whenever it is up.
- Judgment
- 3-0-0
- Instant cast skill that also applies damage debuffs to your targets. Make sure you use it right after you throw some punches with Battering Fists or Iron Cannon Blow.
Stat Priority
- Prioritize Crit and make Swiftness your secondary stat.
- Don’t use any Specialization as our Stamina skills don’t profit from this stat at all.
Runes

- Rage on Charging Blow for a faster skill rotation
- Bleed rune on Dragon Advent for permanent uptime on bleed.
