Gnomeregan Overview

Gnomeregan is a dungeon in WoW Forever. Situated in Dun Morogh, this was once the hi-tech capital of the gnomes. This city was, and still is, regarded as the pinnacle of gnomish engineering fears. The gnomes lost their home to a large scale trogg invasion whom now roam it's empty metal clad halls and tunnels.

This dungeon is designed for levels 29 - 38 and, whilst it can be completed towards the lower end of that range, having a party around level 32 makes the dungeon considerably more manageable.

Grubbis

Mechanics

Grubbis is found in the cave area near the entrance. He is part of an event which needs to be started by speaking to Blastmaster Emi Shortfuse. Several waves of troggs will spawn before Grubbis eventually appears.

The fight itself requires the tank grab additional mobs that spawn during the event. Grubbis can be picked up once he appears and the rest of the group should focus on burning him down while dealing with any remaining adds. Crowd Control such as Frost Nova, Hamstring and other slows can help control the adds.

  • Cave Event: Several waves of mobs will spawn before Grubbis appears, so make sure everyone is ready before starting the event.
  • Chomper: This pet can spawn alongside Grubbis.
  • Adds: These should be gathered together and dealt with quickly so they do not overwhelm the healer.

Viscious Fallout

Mechanics

Viscous Fallout can be found on the lower level of the Hall of Gears. He is a large radioactive ooze and the main thing to be aware of during this fight is the poison damage that he can put out.

The tank should keep Viscous Fallout away from any nearby trash mobs and the rest of the group should spread out where possible. This makes it easier for the healer to deal with the damage and also prevents unnecessary pulls. Again, slows such as Frost Nova, Hamstring and Earthbind Totem can help control the smaller oozes.

  • Toxic Volley: Deals Nature damage to everyone nearby and applies a damage over time effect. The healer needs to be ready for the additional damage.
  • Toxic Slime: Viscous Fallout can split into smaller oozes during the encounter. These should be picked up and dealt with quickly.
  • Positioning: Clear the area around the boss before pulling him to avoid accidentally bringing additional mobs into the fight.
  • Nature Protection: Nature Resistance or protection potions can be useful if your group is struggling with the damage.

Electrocutioner 6000

Mechanics

Electrocutioner 6000's main danger comes from his electrical attacks, so the group should avoid stacking together. The tank should keep him facing away from the party.

Interrupts are particularly useful here and should be used whenever possible.

  • Chain Bolt: Avoid stacking together so the lightning does not hit multiple players.
  • Interrupts: Kick, Pummel, Shield Bash and Counterspell can be used to interrupt his casts.
  • Grounding Totem: Shamans can use Grounding Totem to absorb a dangerous spell.
  • Nature Protection: Nature Protection Potions can help reduce the damage via Nature Resistance.

Crowd Pummeler 9-60

Mechanics

Crowd Pummeler 9-60 can land powerful attacks against players standing close to him. The tank should keep him facing away from the party and ranged should keep well away.

  • Arcing Smash: Keep the boss facing away from the party.
  • Crowd Pummel: Avoid standing close to the boss unless you are the tank.
  • Defensive Abilities: Shield Wall, Evasion and similar abilities can be used if the tank or melee players take heavy damage.
  • Healing: Keep the tank topped up as his melee attacks can hit hard.

Mekgineer Thermaplugg

Mechanics

Mekgineer Thermaplugg is the final boss in Gnomeregan. The main thing to watch for during this fight is the Walking Bombs that spawn around the room. These need to be killed before they reach the group.

The tank should keep Thermaplugg controlled while the DPS deal with the bombs whenever they spawn. Here are some key considerations to be mindful of:

  • Walking Bombs: Kill these quickly before they reach the group.
  • Slows: Frost Nova, Hamstring, Concussive Shot and Earthbind Totem can help keep bombs away from the party.
  • Ranged DPS: Ranged players are ideal for dealing with the bombs.
  • Tank: Keep Thermaplugg controlled while the rest of the group deals with the bombs.
