Overview

Welcome to the WoW Forever Restoration Druid Guide. This guide shows you the recommended talents for your journey to level 30 in the Classic Forever Beta, as well as our expected level 60 build. Restoration Druid is the king of Healing Over Time (HOTs) and can actually move around while still getting out the bulk of their heals through instant casts like Rejuvenation and Swiftmend. You'll be keeping up Regrowth and Rejuvenation on your allies so they heal over time and can use Healing Touch and Swiftmend to hit them with a large heal when needed. If all of this wasn't enough Restoration Druids also get Nature's Swiftness which makes their next cast an instant cast.

Druids get Faerie Fire now by default in WoW Forever which is an incredible debuff to put up on bosses, they can root enemies with Entangling Roots, Remove Curse and Abolish Poison. They provide a great buff to the group with Mark of the Wild and can can even resurrect an ally mid combat with Rebirth. With some of the changes to the Restoration Druid talent tree it's quite possible they will be the strongest healer in the entire game. You can check out what all changed in our Druid Overview Guide Here.

Restoration Druid is a great choice for leveling if you're going to be playing with a friend, in a full party or plan on doing a lot of Dungeons. If you're planning on playing solo a lot check out our Feral Druid Leveling Guide.

Disclaimer

This is a work in progress and will be updated with complete information during the BETA and launch of WoW Forever. The final guide will cover the following: BIS equipment, Talent Trees, Rotations, Professions and more.

Talents

Level 30 Talents (0,0,21)

The Restoration Talent Tree is extremely powerful so we'll happily put all 21 points into it on our way to level 30.

  1. Start off by putting 5 points into Nature's Focus and then the next 5 points into Naturalist
  2. Next put 5 points into Gift of Nature
  3. Pick up Swiftmend and Gift of the Earthmother, then put 3 points into Reflection
  4. Put your final point into Nature's Swiftness.

Level 60 Talents (8/3/40)

Here's a look at what we think the level 60 Restoration Druid Talent Tree will look like. As mentioned above, this guide will be updated as we go through the beta and during launch to include any other Endgame Restoration Druid Talent Trees, along with all the other information you need to excel in the endgame and Raids as a Druid.

Suggested Races

Playable Races

Alliance - Night Elf & Skyborne

Horde - Tauren & Skyborne

Recommended Races

It's hard to recommend the Skyborne race with it being new and untested. It seems like it would have very few benefits for a Restoration Druid, let alone any other class in the game. For this reason we're going to recommended the classic options.

Night Elf has their new Active Elune's Light which grants 10% Critical Chance for 15 Seconds. Quickness is also beneficial, granting you 1% increased Dodge and 2% increased run speed.

Tauren comes with War Stomp, stunning nearby enemies for 2 seconds and Endurance which increases your total health by 5% and grants 1% increased Chance to hit.

See our full racial abilities guide for every other race's bonuses.

Gameplay

The primary Skills you’ll use are Regrowth, Rejuvenation, Healing Touch, Swiftmend & Nature's Swiftness

  1. In a lot of scenarios all you're going to have to do is keep a Regrowth and Rejuvenation on the tank to keep them healthy.
  2. When you see another ally has take damage, simply toss them a Healing Touch or give them a Regrowth.
  3. When more direct healing is needed, you'll use Healing Touch or Swiftmend to top them off. If you have time to cast use Healing Touch. If you need some immediate healing use Swiftmend
  4. Nature's Swiftness is here so you can Instant cast a Healing Touch when things are dire or someone just took a massive hit and is likely about to take another one. As long as you have your HOTs up on a target (like a tank) you can use 2 globals to instantly cast Nature's Swiftness + Healing Touch followed instantly by a Swiftmend for a massive heal in just over 1 second.

Remember you have a lot of great utility on this class and spec as well. You can use Entangling Roots to root an enemy that is coming for you or another helpless DPS. You can put Faerie Fire up on bosses to help your melee gain a huge damage boost against them. You can remove Poisons and Curses form your allies with Abolish Poison and Remove Curse. There's Thorns that you can put on your tank and Hibernate to put a beast or dragon to sleep. A druids tool kit for utility really is incredible.

Keep the HOTs up, use your utility, and things should be a breeze for you and your party through any content in the game.

Healing just takes practice after playing for a bit you'll get a feel for how to use as little mana as possible while still keeping everyone healthy. When you can get away wish spamming a very low mana cost spell to get the job done, do it. When the time calls for more mana intensive healing just be ready with some Mana Potions to help you get through the tougher fights.

Things to Remember

Visit your Class Trainer often to get your new skills, levels 10 & 20 specifically have some incredible new abilities and upgrades to your current ones. Every time you hit an even level go visit them to see what's available level 4, 6, 8, 10, etc.

Keep up your Mark of the Wild on your allies at all times, if someone dies don't forget to reapply it to them.

You'll need the reagent "Stranglethorn Seeds" to cast Rebirth, make sure you always have some on hand.

You need mana to heal, if a tank or party is chain pulling enemies and not staying aware of how much mana you have, say something if it's going to cause problems.

Stat Priority

A Druid's Favorite Stats are Intellect and Spirit. Intellect increases your maximum Mana and increases your Spell Critical Strike Chance. Spirit increases your Health and Mana regeneration when you're out of combat. Stamina is always solid as an alternate, just avoid Strength and Agility entirely.

Group Play & Dungeons

A Restoration Druid really only belongs in a group setting and the gameplay will be the same as described above. Remember that your role is to keep everyone alive, obvious I know, but you need to be paying attention to the whole party not just the tank. Manage your mana by using lower rank heals when you can and make sure to ask a Mage for water every time you have one in your group so you can save money buying it yourself!

Remember to buff your party with Mark of the Wild and root an enemy going after one of your caster friends with Entangling Roots and you'll have a new best friend immediately.

Tips

Have a lower rank Healing Touch on your bars to help with mana efficiency. This can be said for your other Healing over Time spells as well.

Allow your Healing over time to do it's thing. Don't panic every time you see the tanks health drop a little and cast another heal on them. Get a feel for how much your HOTs are healing every few seconds and go from there.

Remove Curse and Abolish Poison, this can not be said enough, do it.

Spirit kicks in after 5 second of not casting, try to use this to your advantage as a druid. Get up the HOTs, and chill. Let your Spirit activate and start regenerating your mana, then get back to healing when you need to.

At level 30 you'll get Tranquility. I didn't mention it above cause you'll likely rarely use it. If your entire party is taking damage from a mechanic, or you need to heal everyone at once this is the spell for just that.

Macros

Mouse Over Regrowth

Mouse over macros allow you to hover your mouse over a player, or their raid frame to cast on them without dropping your main target (the tank). This can be very useful to cast Regrowth or any other spell of your liking on allies without having to change targets from the main tank.
