Athanor Variant
Athanor offers another way to approach the Potion-spamming archetype, allowing you to still take advantage of
Recycling Bin's Cooldown reduction, while including higher tier Potions (since scaling
Vial Launcher is no longer the goal).
However, one key thing to keep in mind is this build's lack of sustain. In Kripp's case, he had a Shielded
Athanor which provided an excellent line of defense. Without this, it can be rather fragile during the later stages of the game, which is why
Runic Potion +
Vial Launcher is the go-to.
Regardless, it's a solid piece that can enable a Potion build without
Vial Launcher, giving you a reasonable pivot point if you find it later.
Atmospheric Sampler Variant
Atmospheric Sampler can be very strong alongside the right combination of enchantments, and there's no doubt that Icy played a pivotal role. That said, you could still opt to include it over other Potions, depending on what you find.
Distilled Sunlight
Distilled Sunlight is always worth the purchase. Alongside
Potion Distillery, you can continuously reroll until you get a valuable Shiny Potion. Not only that, but once you've Transformed it, you could very well find it again in a future shop. Multiple Shiny Potions? Yes please!
Potion Distillery + Alembic
Potion Distillery and
Alembic (alongside other
Catalyst generators) are some of Mak's key ways to continously Transform items, essentially allowing him to "reroll" enchantments (or more accurately, the hosts for them). While not mandatory, they do provide extra utility for an otherwise RNG build.
Knee Brace + Bottled Tornado
Knee Brace is actually a very worthwhile inclusion if you acquire it early from Curio (ideally Day 1-2). As long as you're able to spare the single board slot, you'll be able to get a huge HP lead over others, especially when you upgrade it. Add in
Bottled Tornado and you can get some cheeky wins from the HP advantage.
Potent Potables
Potent Potables is a great inclusion alongside
Athanor to help greatly improve its Burn output. It can also affect your Potions as well, but given the RNG nature of Transform, it's not something you should count on.
Dumpster Diving
Dumpster Diving is like having
Port as a skill, except it only hits Potions (upside) and can even find Medium-sized items too. This is pretty sweet considering it doesn't occupy any Stash space itself, unlike every other comparable effect.
