Overview

Langxian is a build that thrives when ahead. It converts wins into Damage, meaning it has a moderately high ceiling, but an incredibly low floor.

It's best played when found on Day 1, ideally before the first PvE round. However, it can be a potential late game pivot under the right conditions.

Example Early Game Path

Core Synergies

  • Langxian works best when acquired before the first PvE encounter, as that's the very first opportunity to scale its Damage.
    • Its DPS is incredibly weak in the beginning, so you'll need to rely on other items to help carry the opening fights.
    • Playing additional Weapons is a good choice early on, but try to avoid Ammo Weapons unless you have enough front-loaded burst (to win without Reload).
  • Sharkclaws, Switchblade, and Honing Steel offer solid Damage scaling alongside other Weapons.
    • Look to pair these with faster Weapons such as Narwhal, Fang, or Katana.
  • Life Preserver can sometimes decide the outcome of early PvP fights thanks to its cheat-death effect.
    • Avoid using it on Day 1 since board space is limited.
  • Star Chart will become a key supporting item later on for its Crit + CDR, but generally shouldn't be played until the mid to late game.
    • Regardless, always purchase it early to unlock the 1XP choice from The Docks event.

Tips & Tricks

  • Winning the first few PvP rounds is incredibly important in order to make sure Langxian keeps up in Damage.
    • It's okay to lose one early, but any further losses will greatly hurt its potential. Don't be afraid to abandon ship by Day 3-4.
  • Fishing Net, Fishing Rod, and Shovel are all optional Economy items.

Common Filler Items

  • Concealed Dagger

Example Mid Game Additions

Core Synergies

  • Figurehead provides a great board-wide Damage buff, making it a solid pickup if you're still playing multiple Weapons.
    • Cyber-Sai is a Damage scaling alternative, provided you have a way to reliably Crit.
  • Seashadow functions as a reliable accelerator for Langxian thanks to its repeatable Cooldown Reduction.
    • Suppressor is another great choice. Note that leftmost Damage buff isn't necessary, as there are better items that need adjacent placement.
  • Crow's Nest grants a sizable Crit boost, Lifesteal, and helps combat Slows.
    • Captain's Wheel offers targeted Haste on a low Cooldown (alongside a Large item). While there are better alternatives, it's a great mid game addition.
  • Korxena Crest gives even more Crit while only occupying a single board slot. It's above average filler if you have extra space.

Tips & Tricks

  • Once the Langxian becomes a strong enough solo threat, shift your game plan towards creating a one-Weapon setup.
    • Prioritize supporting items that offer Charge, Haste, or Crit. Definitely keep an eye out for off-Hero options.
  • Wanted Poster can help you snowball even further, granting you an XP lead alongside Langxian's Damage scaling.

End Game Build Breakdown

Core Synergies

  • Rowboat is the best way to kickstart Langxian.
    • Diamond-tier makes a big difference, and of course having 7+ unique types is a MUST.
  • Star Chart, Seashadow, and Suppressor are Vanessa's Cooldown Reduction items of choice.
  • Spyglass can potentially dismantle the opposing board with its on-start CDR increase, but ultimately depends on RNG.
    • It's a solid utility item to fill your flex slots, even without utilizing its Slow/Crit ability.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you select the Shrouded Figure event while you have a Langxian, you'll be presented with the option to scale its Damage by counting ALL fights won throughout the run. So if you happen to pick it up late, this event makes Langxian a viable pivot.
  • Prioritize a setup that can ideally kill with 1-2 hits, as Langxian lacks the scaling to compete in longer combats.
