Hydraulic Press
Hydraulic Press is an extremely powerful Weapon, but it's also excruciatingly slow. Its 20 second base Cooldown makes it essentially unplayable on its own, but when combined with
Remote Control, it becomes a one-shot machine.
By feeding your Core to the
Hydraulic Press it gains the Core tag, enabling this combo to work, while also creating additional synergies that can take advantage of the Core.
Machine Learning is a great example, granting you faster upgrades while saving your level-up upgrades for
Remote Control.
Beyond assembling this combo, throughout your journey starting right from the early game, your goal is to feed it as many tags as possible. Note that unlike similar items such as
Beast of Burden and
Vat of Acid, the
Hydraulic Press can only gain tags by destroying items in combat.
This restriction means it's important to find
Hydraulic Press as early as possible, as otherwise you'll lack the time to feed it enough Types. Additionally, it also means you need to be very cautious with board positioning before a fight begins. Don't accidentally destroy a valuable item!
Early on before
Remote Control is acquired, you'll generally want to keep
Hydraulic Press in the Stash. You can still continue to feed it tags from there without it clogging up your board. Try to get as many Types at once as you can in order to save time. Items like
Dinosawer are fantastic tag fodder.
Kripp enchanted the
Hydraulic Press with Obsidian to double its Damage output, which is perfect for a build looking to one-shot the enemy.
Remote Control
Remote Control plays a pivotal role in making
Hydraulic Press fast enough to be viable. While it's not exactly a fast item itself, it's certainly much quicker than the 20 second
Hydraulic Press. Always make it a priority to upgrade the
Remote Control in order to lower its Cooldown.
In terms of acquiring it, be sure to purchase any
Lightbulbs whenever they appear, along with
Schematics. While it ultimately comes down to RNG, this does increase your odds of finding it.
Atomic Clock
Atomic Clock's purpose is to kickstart the build and delay the opponent as much as possible. Its one second Cooldown makes it an excellent item to immediately trigger adjacent effects.
Any additional Ammo you can find is a nice bonus, but unlike other builds that utilize
Atomic Clock, it won't matter as much since you aim to win quickly. For the same reasons, you also don't need to prioritize its upgrades, making it an easy pickup.
Kripp had a Heavy
Atomic Clock which helped delay his enemies even further. This isn't necessary, but is a nice option if given the opportunity.
