Overview

Dooltron is a staple threat and a pillar archetype within The Bazaar. It hits hard and fast, while also having a solid defensive baseline.

Among pivot builds, Dooltron stands out as one of the easiest to assemble. You can make almost anything work as long as you piece together enough triggers. Its versatility is its greatest strength.

Example Early Game Path

You can pivot into Dooltron from just about anything so feel free to play whatever's available. That said, leaning into Power Drill or Friends synergies can make for an easier transition since they share similar components. No specific Core is necessary, but Launcher Core and Companion Core do align early on.

Core Synergies

  • Power Drill is a solid early game carry if you can find enough triggers to Charge it effectively.
    • Soldering Gun works well thanks to its Multicast Burn, but Rocket Launcher will also suffice.
    • Bomb Squad does a solid job as well when placed between two fast Friends.
  • Clawrence + Brick Buddy can kick off a Friend-based board, providing a scalable source of offense and defense.
    • Char Cole adds an extra scalable offensive threat if you need it, or can even substitute for Clawrence if needed.
  • First Aiden can easily slot into both Power Drill and Friends boards as a fast source of Haste.
  • GRN-W4SP and RED-F1R3FLY may be worth grabbing in advance to help prepare for Dooltron.
    • They are decent filler items in general, but definitely require upgrades to stay relevant later on.

Tips & Tricks

  • Picking an enchanted item at level two can enable some creative combos that aren't normally possible.
    • It can also provide extra support for Power Drill or Dooltron.
  • Sat-Comm and Temporal Navigator are optional Economy items that may also spawn useful off-Hero items/synergies.

Example Mid Game Additions

Core Synergies

  • BLU-B33TL3, BLK-SP1D3R, and YLW-M4NT1S are the remaining members of the bug squad, each providing valuable utility via Freeze/Slow/Haste.
    • Just like GRN-W4SP and RED-F1R3FLY, upgrading them is very important. Higher tiers increases the targets, which means more Charge triggers.
  • Monitor Lizard is useful all around as an incredibly fast source of Haste and Poison (especially at Diamond).
    • You don't even need to invest in Poison scaling to justify its inclusion. The main purpose is fast triggers and startup time.
  • Chemsnail can be a worthwhile mid game threat if you do have access to Poison scaling/skills.
    • Pylon is a great supporting piece along with BLK-SP1D3R.
  • Metronome provides a flexible source of targeted Haste and is particularly strong with a Heavy/Icy/Toxic/Fiery enchantment.
    • This is an effective way to turbo Charge Power Drill and/or Dooltron.
  • DJ Circuit Breaker + Miss Isles are solid mid game Friends to use along the way, before pivoting to Dooltron.
    • Note that Miss Isles is only playable if you're still utilizing a Core.

Tips & Tricks

  • Kev's Armory is a high priority vendor on Day 6+. It offers a great chance to find Dooltron, along with Bunker.
  • Since you likely won't be using a Core, it's probably best to avoid the Dooley skill vendor (to reduce the odds of seeing useless skills).
  • If you're playing around some of the bugs, keep an eye out for unique enchantment opportunities.
    • Landing Toxic, Fiery, Heavy, or Turbo onto the right one can double their triggers, making adjacent Charging absurd.
    • Ex. A Toxic RED-F1R3FLY placed next to a BLK-SP1D3R.

End Game Build Breakdown

Core Synergies

  • Dooltron hits hard and fast, but does lack the ability to scale. While you can lean into skills for help, an effective strategy is to simply grant it Multicast.
    • Bunker, Dino Saddle, and Robotic Factory will all do the trick.
    • Z-Shield pairs excellently with Bunker variants as a source of Multicast Freeze and Cooldown Reduction.
    • Thrusters fits into Dino Saddle setups to create a second Multicasting item of your choice.
    • Robotic Factory is an incredible piece for the Friend-based builds.
  • Dooltron Mainframe, Fiber Optics, and Nitro are all additional forms of Charge support.
    • Each one has their uses, with the former being the most specific and the latter being the most generic.

Tips & Tricks

  • Speed is everything in the late game, so make sure you're optimized for startup time. A Diamond Monitor Lizard is an excellent choice.
    • As fun as it is to play all the spammy bugs, keep in mind that they take a moment to get going. Try to have at least one item with a 4s CD or lower.
  • Expeditions can be very useful since Dooley makes great use of off-Hero and enchanted items.
