Stash Management
Beast of Burden +
Cargo Shorts creates a very interesting dynamic that plays much differently from other Pyg builds. While Pyg is notorious for constantly buying and selling items to scale Value, this combo incentivizes holding onto a wide variety of items in your Stash.
This means you usually have to forgo Economy items that require ample board space, while also occasionally skipping events or drops if your Stash doesn't have any room to spare. However in exchange, you can create a Multicasting monster!
Pay close attention to every item among vendors, especially if you aren't well versed with the entire pool. The goal is to collect as many unique tags while utilizing the least amount of space. Small items with multiple relevant tags are a great find, and out-of-class items can often provide tags Pyg normally can't access.
Kripp's Stash Explained
The
Loupe and
Signet Ring provided the Tool and Apparel tags while helping fuel the Economy, but
Monocle is a great alternative to save board space.
Model Ship provides Aquatic, Vehicle, and Toy, with the former two being tags that are pretty hard to come by for Pyg.
The
Upgrade Hammer fulfilled the Loot tag while
Truffles provided Food. Unfortunately this is one case where the removal of
Truffles from Loot actually is a slight nerf, but overall not a big deal. Then finally, the
ATM grants the Property and Tech tags, with the former being particularly important for the build.
Note that Kripp made a silly mistake right at the end, initially placing a
Ritual Dagger on board before realizing it had anti-synergy with
Spices. Putting the
Business Card on the board was essentially just destroy fodder, since he didn't have anything else at that point, and it didn't matter!
Beast of Burden
Beyond playing the minigame of maximizing your Multicast, you'll want to look for some ways to scale
Beast of Burden's Damage. Given its very long Cooldown, it's also important to find ways to accelerate it, or add sustain to ensure you can survive when it goes off.
Kripp had a Restorative
Beast of Burden which is a great form of sustain. Since every Multicast hit actually takes time to deal Damage, that Healing can be a huge help to ensure you survive long enough for each strike to go off.
VIP Pass
VIP Pass is one of the best supporting items for the build, and one of the ways to really take
Beast of Burden to the next level. As long as you have a Property in your Stash you can put
VIP Pass adjacent to the Beast and watch both items stack Value like crazy.
On top of becoming an absurd source of Income (in the case you need to sell and pivot), it also functions as a decent source of Haste. Given that Pyg's Haste options are extremely limited, this is a huge help. Be sure to prioritize Stashing a Property ASAP.
Snow Globe
Snow Globe takes advantage of the two "Properties", allowing it to fit as a great form of disruption.
Snow Globe is often limited to very specific builds, but thanks to the
Cargo Shorts mechanic it works great here.
One additional benefit of the build is that upgrading items isn't as essential as others. Sure, scaling
Beast of Burden's Damage is great, but skills often do a better job since its base stats don't change much. This allows the freedom to prioritize
Snow Globe which gets significantly better at higher tiers.
