The order of operations is set up to avoid backtracking and having to look at the same items twice. For example, if you sell all you chromatic orbs, but then turn in Divination Cards that give you more chromatics, you will have to sell them again. That's inefficient and that's what we're trying to avoid here, by doing things in a particular order. We want to remove as much thinking and decision making as possible out of this process.
Some steps are optional and if you don't engage with these game mechanics, you can simply skip them and move on to the next step, but this checklist is exactly what I do to liquidate all my loot.
Step 0. A Kingsmarch
Before I start selling, I collect my loot from passive income mechanics and make sure I gather everything I have first. I collect the loot from Boats and send new ones and I collect the loot from Mappers and re-stock them with fresh 8-mod T16 maps that I keep in a dedicated quad stash tab. That way I don't have to look for them and the entire process is very quick.
Step 0.B Breach Tree
Then I spend my Graftblood at the Breach Genesis Tree. I do this consistently while mapping, but before I liquidate my loot I make sure to spend all extra Graftblood. I have my tree set up for generic profit, so I simply ctrl+click any Wombgifts I have, and throw all of the loot in my Dump tab.
Step 0.C Flask Tab
I have my flask tab priced similarly to my dump tab and my loot filter shows good bases of iLvL 84+ flasks that I loot over time. Before I start selling everything else, I make sure to identify all of the new flasks I looted, transmute and augment every flask that can be transmuted and augmented (if you right click a transmutation/augmentation orb, the game with highlight all eligible flasks automatically). I'm going to be sitting in my hideout now, so I want to make sure that the incoming trade messages are going to come now, while I'm free to trade.
Step 1.A Dump Tab ID + lower price
Now moving on to the first core step of currency liquidation - I identify everything in my dump tab and lower the price of the entire tab. Using the same logic as with the flask tab, I simply want to do all my trading now, and while I'm in the hideout, I'm willing to accept lower value trades than while I'm mapping.
When people message me for the items from the dump tab, I quickly price check them if I don't know their value. If it's close to the correct value - I sell the item. If the item is worth significantly more, I list it for the correct price at the merchant tab or put it aside to do it in a later step.
Step 1.B Fetch Tabs
After lowering my mass sale tab prices, I fetch my tabs in Wealthy Exile, to see where and how much value I have. I specifically look at the Divination Cards first.
Step 1.C Turn in Div Cards
I turn in all of the divination cards that I have full stacks of. I recommend having a good loot filter that hides stacks of low value cards. You don't want to be turning in cards that give you 2c uniques back, because it's a massive waste of time. You should just make sure that you never see these cards or skip over those stacks. Pick up the cards you want to turn and collect your rewards. Full stacks of useless cards can be quickly vendored at the end, just to get rid of them.
Step 2. Faustus Currency Exchange Cycle
After turning in full stacks of div cards, I move on to the Faustus Currency Exchange. You can click on your stash tab, and then as your character touches it, quickly click on Faustus. If you get the timing right, you'll be able to open the currency exchange and your stash tab at the same time. Use this to quickly Shift + Click or Ctrl + Shift + Click items from your tab, which will select them at the Currency Exchange, without having to type or look for them.
- Div Cards [I first look at my Wealthy Exile Div Card tab to see which div cards are worth the most, and sell them individually on the currency exchange. Generally I go from the most expensive down to about 10c value]
- General Currency [Then I go through all currency that I want to sell from my General Currency tab. I make sure to keep the ones that I know I will be using soon, so that I don't have to pay the gold cost when buying them again. It's up to you, what you want to keep and what you want to sell, but make sure to go through every single item and assess their value if you don't know it yet]
- Exotic Currency [Same as with general currency, just make sure to not forget about the second page of your currency stash tab]
- Fragments [Next I go to the fragments tab and sell all fragments that aren't in large enough quantity to sell in bulk. This includes individual boss fragments and individual expensive scarabs that I know are worth a lot - like the Ambush scarabs of Containment for example. They're easy to sell and we want a full value out of them]
- Optional 3-to-1 / Harvest [You can also opt to 3-to-1 the scarabs. You can check which scarabs are worth less than one chaos and sell them to the vendor, getting one third of them back as random scarabs in return. Similarly you can use harvest to reroll Fossils, and Deli orbs and vendor cheap catalysts just like the scarabs. This requires doing a little bit of math and being familiar with the markets, but It's worth knowing that it's an option when there is a big disparity in the price of certain items.]
- Essence [If in small amounts, trade it at the currency exchange. In large quantities it can be sold in bulk at a later step]
- Fossils [If in small amounts, trade it at the currency exchange. In large quantities it can be sold in bulk at a later step]
- Catalysts
- Oils
- Deli Orbs [If in small amounts, trade it at the currency exchange. In large quantities it can be sold in bulk at a later step]
- Expedition Currency [If you're not farming Expedition actively, it's better to sell your small amounts of reroll currencies. If you are farming Expedition actively, you should interact with Danig and Tujen before step 1]
- Kingsmarch Loot [Runegrafts and Tattoos can be worth a lot of currency. Make sure to check them all, and I recommend having a single tab dedicated to the Kingsmarch Loot with the Kingsmarch Affinity turned on]
Step 3. Bulk Sell
When the currency exchange is done, I move on to bulk selling. I recommend checking the appropriate bulk selling channels on TFT and using the search function on discord to find out the current rates of how much people are selling their items for. You want to slightly undercut the prices, in order to sell things quickly. Whenever possible, sell your items through the PoE Hub automatic listing. The website is currently a big buggy, so you might have to re-select your current league.
Here is a list of items I typically bulk sell if I have a lot of them:
- Scarabs
- Sanctum Tomes
- Heist Blueprints/Contracts/Rogue Markers
- Logbooks
- Essences
- Fossils
- Boss Fragments
- Maps
The more you have of something, the easier it is to sell. Don't bother doing this if you have 15 scarabs and 3 Contracts. Use other people's listings on TFT as a reference, to see how the trades usually look like. It takes some time to get used to it, but once you know the whole procedure, it is by far the fastest way to sell.
Step 4. Merchant
After bulk selling I move on to the merchant.
- Dump tab items [First I price all of the individual items that were worth substantially more than my dump tab was listed for. I still try to price them slightly below the market value to sell them quickly, just like everything else here]
- Maps [Starting with t17's which are usually most valuable. I list corrupted and uncorrupted maps for separate prices. I then list 8-mod t16 maps and uncorrupted maps of popular layouts like dunes and strand that I know I wont be running.]
- Special Maps [After normal maps I list Elder/Shaper/Conqueror Maps, Blighted Maps and the Unique Maps. Try to put similar maps next to each other, so that the buyers see that you have more of them. They will often just buy our your entire supply]
- Invitations [List all of your invitations from the Fragment tab, also putting them next to each other]
- Gems [Last I check Wealthy Exile to see the value of gems in my gem tab, which I keep priced at all times, but things that are under the price threshold can be still worth decent currency, so I sell them directly]
And that's what I do to liquidate my loot. Below is an abbreviated checklist that you can simply keep open while selling, so that you can follow it for reference, to speed up your selling process.
