This guide will cover crafting jewels from various different bases with different techniques.
The three groups are:
1) Fractureless - Cheapest to make, but hardest to divine
2) Same Side Fracture - Easiest to make, slightly easier to divine
3) Opposite Side Fracture - Hardest to make, easiest to divine (well rolled jewels sell for a premium)
Some terminology that we'll be using here:
Prefix and Suffix refers to the "side" the modifiers are on. Each jewel normally has 2 prefixes and 2 suffixes, and we're using an item to add an extra prefix or suffix.
Same Side - This refers to the side that you are aiming to have 3 lines on instead of the normal 2 lines.
Opposite Side - This refers to the side that will be left at 2 lines - The craft finishes with a specific crafted modifier on the Opposite Side depending on the jewel being made.
Things you'll need for every craft:
- The Jewel Base - basically the uncrafted/unfractured jewel
- Chaos, Annulment, Exalted Orbs
- Fracturing Orbs for craft 2/3
- Sinistral / Dextral Annulments depending on whether your craft is suffix/prefix oriented
- Note the one you'll need is the OPPOSITE side. So if you're crafting 3 prefix, you want suffix annulment.
- Omen of Abyssal Echoes, Omen of Light, Omen of Sinistral/Dextral Necromancy, Preserved Craniums
- Potent Liquid Ferocity and Contempt (normal jewel) or Ancient Liquid Melancholy and Contempt (time-lost jewels)
- (Optional) Refined Catalysts for improved stats
- (Optional) Divine Orbs for better rolls
