OverwatchOverwatch Jetpack Cat Guide and Overview
Jetpack Cat Overview
A stray cat found in Gibraltar and adopted by Brigitte. She pilots a jetpack and is ready to sacrifice all nine lives to protect their team.
Jetpack Cat flies themselves and allies around the map with their unmatched mobility. Their kit benefits from team coordination, sneaky taxiing, and creative playmaking. Lifeline transportation enables unique positioning strategies that have never before been possible in the history of Overwatch!
With high mobility, AoE aura healing, and limited primary fire damage/healing range, Jetpack Cat wants to hover just above the battle. Stay close, but not too close, and reposition frequently to keep your enemies guessing as you maximize your jetpack’s value.
TLDR
Play As
- Fly outside of their range when faced against melee and close combat enemies such as Vendetta.
- Keep repositioning around vertical cover, walls, and structures to keep yourself out of enemy hitscan’s LoS.
- Target Tanks when going to environmental KOs with your ult. When there are no ledges, wait for an ally to use a high damage Ult like Death Blossom.
Play Against
- Hitscan heroes are strong against Jetpack Cat. If they are giving you trouble, consider swapping.
- Jetpack Cat doesn’t generate a lot of sustain for their team. If your team has higher healing (Supports like Kiriko and Moira), you win team fights by slowly chipping away at their health while keeping your team alive.
- Immediately start shooting Jetpack Cat when they capture you or a teammate to stop them from getting an environmental KO.

Jetpack Cat Ability Tips
Primary Fire: Biotic Pawjecticles
Tips for
Biotic Pawjectiles
- No falloff damage, but the projectile only travels 40m before disappearing.
- Pawjectiles are shotgun spread pellets. Each shot is the shape of a cat’s paw. The claws can crit, but the center paw pad cannot crit.
- Aim towards enemies' necks and upper chest to maximize pellets hit and critical headshot damage.
- Main source of healing and damage. Prioritize healing, and only focus on damage when your teammates are near full HP.
Secondary Fire: Frenetic Flight
Tips for
Frenetic Flight
- Use the boost to control space and positioning. Optimal range is keeping enemies within primary fire range (40m), and allies within healing aura when using Purr
- Resource-based. After a momentary cooldown, you can reactivate Flight as long as you have remaining fuel.
- Jetpack Cat is extremely evasive and has some of the best mobility in Overwatch.
- Boost around frequently. Your base flight speed is slow and makes Jetpack Cat an easy target when floating around in the sky.
- Can shoot during boost.
[SHIFT]: Lifeline
Tips for
Lifeline
- Transport and heals allies
- Sling shot Cassidy during Deadeye for a lethal surprise Ult!
- The teammate has to press “Interact” to confirm. (Unlike Lifeweaver’s Life Grip)
- Give your allies time to confirm. It is difficult to quickly yank them out of a fight if they are already at low HP, but it can be a great rescue tool.
- Can NOT shoot during Lifeline.
- No time limit. You can transport your teammate anywhere on the map if you wish.
- Your teammate CAN shoot and use their abilities while being transported.
[E]: Purr
Tips for
Purr
- Knockback upon activation
- Healing increases towards the end of the duration, making it more important to be near allies in the 2nd half of its duration.
- Can be used during Flight and Lifeline, to keep yourself alive while evading attacks, repositioning, and escaping.
Ultimate: Catnapper
Tips for
Catnapper
- On maps with ledges nearby the objective, save your Ult to use when an environmental KO is possible.
- Low damage, so not lethal on its own. Try to combo with another teammate’s burst damage Ultimate, like Anran’s Ascent.
- Keep in mind that even if you slam into knockdown multiple enemies, if the opposing team has hitscans like Ana and Emre elsewhere on the map, they can easily KO you as you pick up and carry their teammate.
- Use Purr and Flight immediately after ulting to stay alive.
Passive: Jetpack
Tips for
Jetpack
- Just because you can perma-fly at the top of the ceiling, doesn’t mean you should.
- Make sure you stay in range of your own abilities.
- Flying too high where there is no environmental cover to hide behind makes you an easy target and will get you killed quickly.
Perks
Minor Perks
Claws Out
- Best for consistent aggressive plays. If your team is using an aggressive closerange strategy such as brawl, rush or dive, having extra damage every 6-seconds on your melee is quite powerful.
- When your team is playing more distance or poke styles, you won’t have many opportunities to use Claws Out.
Transport Shielding
- Best for strategic play-making. Allows you to take more damage while transporting an ally for a flank play. Also makes it safer to go for environmental KOs after your Ult.
- Recommended Minor Perk.
Major Perks
Headbutt
- Need to have almost half fuel and to travel ~8m to build enough momentum for the boop. (Displayed as VFX circling your screen)
- Works in transport mode
- Pair with Claws Out for good burst damage
Territorial
- Good in both team fights for AoE, and in duels for sustain + free damage.
- If you are dueling a high mobility enemy like Anran or Genji, the AoE damage comes in super clutch to thwart their flank attacks.
- Losing Purr knockback is only an issue on very small map areas where you may struggle to keep away from the enemy. However, your mobility is so good that knockback isn't a big deal to sacrifice.
