Overview

With the launch of Palworld 1.0, there were over 70 new Pals introduced, so here are some of the best Pals that are new! This will be updated as progression is made through the game and more Pals are tested.

Best Pals in 1.0

Pupperai (Ground/Grass)

  • Partner Skill: Best Boy - While in party, increases the player's melee weapon damage by 10%. (Does not stack)
  • Lvl 1 Gathering, Lvl 1 Lumbering, Lvl 1 Transporting

Pupperai is a great new Pal that is available immediately at the beginning of the game. Pupperai boasts 3 very beneficial base related skillsets early on in the game, and is one that should be used immediately in a base to get started. Not only that, but it's partner skill is also quite good early on for melee combat.

Clovee (Grass/Neutral)

  • Partner Skill: Happy Clover - While at a base, increases the gathering work suitability level for all other base Pals by +1. (Does not stack)
  • Lvl 1 Planting, Lvl 1 Gathering

Another great early game Pal introduced in 1.0 is Clovee, specifically for it's partner skill, granting any Pal with the Gathering stat, an additional point, which is huge when getting your base off the ground, making gathering your berries more efficient early on when things are slow. It also getting Planting means it will have an additional use to keep your Pals fed early.

Wispaw (Dark)

  • Partner Skill: Death-Cheating Feline - While in party, increases the capture rate when awarded a back bonus. (Does not stack)
  • Lvl 2 Handiwork, Lvl 1 Lumbering, Lvl 1 Medicine, Lvl 1 Transporting
  • Caught at Night

Wispawis one of the better new Pals that is available quite early on, specifically for it's Level 2 Handiwork stat, which is great QOL in your base when most Handiwork building items still take a little bit. It does gain some usage in your party too, allowing a nice bonus for your catching when you get the back bonus, which you should be going for alongside crits anyways.

Elgrove (Grass)

  • Partner Skill: Mother Nature's Menace - When activated, Elgrove changes the player's attack type to Grass and increases attack by 30%.
  • Lvl 3 Planting, Lvl 3 Lumbering, Lvl 3 Transporting, Lvl 2 Gathering, Lvl 2 Mining

Elgrove is on this list mainly for how incredibly strong it's stats are for combat (rivals Mammorset), and it's amazing Partner Skill, but don't overlook it's base capabilities too, granting solid levels in some key categories, and is available in the level 20 area, so it will be a great upgrade to your base, as well as your party.

Skutlass (Water)

  • Partner Skill: Fish Fillet - When activated, Skutlass becomes the player's Katana (Attack: 2600). If it does not revert to its normal form quickly, Skutlass will become incapacitated. It will also become incapacitated if Iaigiri is used.
  • Lvl 4 Watering, Lvl 4 Lumbering, Lvl 1 Gathering

Skutlass is available to find near where you'd fight Anubis Alpha, but this thing is quite a beast itself. Great attacking stats, an incredible and sweet Partner Skill, and it also has solid Watering and Lumbering stats as an added bonus. This is a great combat Pal to add to your team, and is honestly very fun to use the Partner Skill as well.
