How to Unlock the Frigate and Brig in Windrose

Your ship is extremely important in Windrose. It's critical for the exploration of the high seas, and with naval combat being such a prolific element of the game, you're going to need a ship worthy of a pirate king.

Your base Ketch leaves a little to be desired - especially in the combat department.

Fortunately there are two other ships you can unlock that pack much more of a punch. These are the Brig and the Frigate. Here is how you get them.

The Brig is the first ship upgrade available to you. The base Brig has is faster, has more hitpoints, and double the fire power of your base Ketch.

To unlock the Brig, you need to buy the pattern off the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner. You'll have to raise your reputation level to 2 and hand over a tidy chunk of pocket change for it.

Once you've unlocked the design you'll have to build your new boat. The materials required are pretty hefty, so you might have to do some grinding!

Some of these items will require you to have unlocked the Foothills biome before you can craft them.

The Frigate is final ship upgrade in Windrose. By default, it has over double the hitpoints and firepower of the Brig (which is already a sizeable upgrade over your Ketch!)

To unlock the Frigate, you again need to buy the pattern off the Brethren of the Coast Provisioner. It is more expensive and you'll need even more rep to unlock it.

If you thought the Brig was expensive you're in for a nasty shock with the Frigate. The hefty resource cost is understandable considering its position as the strongest ship in the game, but it's still a lot!
