Beginners Guide to Breeding in Palworld

In Palworld, breeding is a fundamental mechanic that helps you optimize Pals with targeted traits or hatch ones that you normally wouldn't be able to catch easily. This guide covers the basics of everything you need to get started, most notably, how to generate Cake since it's the trickiest breeding component to get consistently.

Here's a list of all the Technologies you'll need to unlock to begin breeding Pals:

• Ranch (unlocked level 5)
• • Pals assigned here can drop useful items (more on this in the section below).
• Berry Plantation (unlocked level 5)
• • Generates Berries, one of the ingredients for Cake.
• Egg Incubator (unlocked Level 10)
• • Where you place Pal eggs to eventually hatch.
• Cooler Box (unlocked level 13)
• • Helps prevent ingredients like Eggs and Milk from spoiling.
• Mill (unlocked level 15)
• • Converts Wheat into Flour.
• A Cooking Pot (unlocked level 17)
• • Used to combine food ingredients into dishes.
• Breeding Farm (unlocked level 19)
• • This facility allows you to generate an egg if you place a male Pal, a female Pal, and a Cake.

The main ingredients you need for Cake are:

• 8 Red Berries (generated by Berry Farm)
• 8 Eggs
• 7 Milk
• 5 Flour (generated by the Mill)
• 2 Honey

While you can capture or kill these Pals to get their respective ingredients, it's more sustainable to assign them to the earlier mentioned Ranch:

• Chikipi = Eggs
• Mozzarina = Milk
• Beegarde = Honey

Collecting these pals and getting these ingredients will allow you to make a basic Cake in the Cooking Pot. There are different options, like the Mushroom Cake, Vegetable Cake, Special Cake and others, but they require more ingredients and are unlocked later in the game.

Once you have a Cake, you should put one male and one female Pal into the Breeding Pen. They will take the Cake from the box outside of the Breeding Pen and produce an Egg. You should put this Egg in the Incubator. Once it is done, open it up from the Incubator, and you will receive a new Pal.
