Riot Games’ newest game, 2XKO, is officially in closed beta! As of September 9, 2025, players worldwide can try out Riot Games' brand-new fighting game, 2XKO. Set in the universe of League of Legends and Runeterra, players can pick one of the most iconic champions and face off against their friends in a battle arena.
Players can choose one of nine different champions (in the beta) and face off in 2v2 matches, either solo or with a friend, against their opponents.
How to Get Into the Beta
To participate in the beta, you’ll need to request an invitation by signing up for the closed beta on the official Riot website. Alternatively, you can get invited by a friend who is already involved in the beta testing.
Each person participating in the event can invite up to 3 additional friends to join, so if you get in, make sure you invite your friends so more people can join!
Closed Beta is for Windows/ PC players only. PlayStation and Xbox access is not yet available.

When Does the Beta End?
There is no finish or end date for the closed beta yet.
When Will 2XKO Officially Launch?
There is no confirmed date yet, but it is scheduled to be released in 2025. It could be out in the next few months.
When it is released, it will be available for free!
What Characters Are Available in the Beta?
There are a total of nine different champions you can choose from. These include the likes of Jinx- the poster child of the LoL universe, Ahri, and Yasuo! The following information is taken from the 2XKO official site.
The complete list of playable characters is:
Ahri, The Nine-Tailed Fox
Ahri is a fox-like vastaya who can manipulate her prey's emotions and consume their essence. She’s a highly mobile mage with tons of pressure tools at her disposal.

Blitzcrank, The Great Steam Golem
Though this big, metal golem was originally made for waste disposal, Blitzcrank now uses their mechanical powers to help people in other ways. Using their rocket fists to pull opponents close, Blitz follows up with potent grabs and energy bursts.

Braum, The Heart of The Freljord
Braum roams the frostbitten wilds of the Freljord, lending his shield to those in need. He deploys defensive utility, close-range attacks, and an army of poros to protect his allies and freeze enemies in their tracks.

Darius, The Hand of Noxus
Rising from humble origins to become a bringer of true carnage, Darius cleaves through the empire’s enemies. He’s a mid-range fighter with attacks just as brutal and deadly as his axe.

Ekko, The Boy Who Shattered Time
A prodigy from the rough streets of Zaun, Ekko manipulates time to twist any situation to his advantage. Using his own invention, the Z-Drive, he thrives in pressure mixups and burst mobility.

Illaoi, The Kraken Priestess
The Truth-Bearer of Nagakabouros, Illaoi wields a massive totem to test the will of her enemies and summon spectral tentacles to fight by her side. She's a high-damage lockdown bruiser who overwhelms enemies with pressure as immense as her faith.

Jinx, The Loose Cannon
With an arsenal of custom guns, traps, and explosives, Jinx unleashes mayhem wherever she goes. She excels at zoning enemies, overwhelming them with colorful destruction from afar.

Vi, The Piltover Enforcer
Vi is an impulsive power-puncher who lives to throw hands. Armed with hextech gauntlets and slick boxing footwork, she excels at closing the distance and clobbering foes with haymakers.

Yasuo, The Unforgiven
An Ionian of deep resolve, Yasuo is an agile swordsman who wields the air itself against his enemies. He excels at mid-range, using the power of the wind to dash through opponents and block projectiles.

There is going to be a 10th champion, but it is only rumoured and not official at this stage. The final champion is believed to be Teemo, due to him being included in the below picture. However, they will not be a part of the beta.

During Closed Beta, Ahri, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, and Yasuo will be playable by default. Jinx, Blitzcrank, and Vi can be unlocked from the Champions tab with Champion Tokens or Credits.
- These Tokens are earned by completing the First Fight tutorial.
- Credits are earned from completing missions.
Now is your chance to try out 2XKO! If you register and get in, make sure to invite your friends so they can join in with the fun as well. Riot will keep adding players to the closed-beta over time, so if you don’t get in straight away, don’t worry about it! We hope that you enjoy the game and like Riot Games’ take on a 2v2 tag-team fighting game!
