Introduction
This is the second gate of the Akkan Legion Raid.

Universal Mechanics
Plague Meter
Each player has a plague meter below their character, which increases when gazed or hit by Akkan's patterns.
If the meter fills up, it stuns the player for 4 seconds and inflicts more poison damage with each subsequent fill.
At the 3rd stack, a circular plague fog envelops the player, filling up other players' plague meters.
At the 5th stack, the player is mind-controlled and will suicide bomb the team.
Gaze
In the group, one player is randomly gazed.
They get plague meters for 16 seconds, then it jumps to another player. Watch your debuff bar or yellow ring effect to know when the gaze changes targets.
Major Mechanics
x162 Skull Football
- Akkan will draw a circle on the ground with his scythe, and green smoke will appear
- After a cutscene, a time dial will emerge in the center
- Standing here will cause damage
- There will be a skull-like item at the 5 o'clock or 7 o'clock position that can be picked up using the G key
- Picking up the item will gradually slow your movement speed until thrown with the Q skill
- Normal mode will let you pick up the skull multiple times, but hard mode has a 20 second cooldown to pick it up again.
- 4 Green ghouls will spawn at the edges of the map and rotate
- They can cast fear on you
- At the 1 o'clock position, a red ghoul will spawn, attempting to reach the skull item
- If she succeeds, she will trigger a large insta-death AOE explosion
- Random players will periodically spawn green poison pools that deal massive damage
In hard mode only there are also Akkan ghosts spawning at ordinal positions
- Prioritize throwing the pools away to the wall
- Be sure to dodge the red ghoul’s vomit attack.
- In hard mode, make sure to land the counters.
- 1st cloak player starts at 5 o-clock waiting for the red ghoul to get near, he will use the cloak and pick up the skull to carry it over to 7 o-clock.
- The 1st player throws it off to the 2nd cloak player at 11 o-clock when red ghoul gets near him.
- The 2nd player will also use a cloak and carry the skull all the way to the 1 o-clock position.
x140 Red Field
- Akkan creates red circle fields under his feet, and a large red circle forms in the center.
- The red center field causes fast plague meter rise and high damage.
- Periodically, Akkan will cast red zones in a ring, either in the middle or outer area.
After 3 or 4 red rings, Akkan will disappear and reappear behind one of the players while the screen is darkened. He will perform an instant death neck slice that also heals Akkan if anyone is killed by this attack.
Stay out of the center red field to avoid fast plague meter rise and high damage.
Avoid stepping on red zones.
Stay away from Akkan after 3 or 4 red rings.
Use Innana to cleans the plague meter during this phase, the cleanse is faster than the red zones
x110 Lantern
This mechanic is a time based one, therefore you may see this mechanic two to four times during the fight based on your party's DPS.
Akkan will draw a circle with his scythe, and orange eyeballs will appear as the screen darkens. He will then hold up a lantern to search for the players.
Akkan will either rotate 2-3 times in a combo, or 360 spin with a wide orange blast.
The 360 attack is a simple dodge, but 2-3 rotations can petrify you following up with an instant death.
He will either spin 90 degrees or 180 degrees, but the general rule is that he will always return to his initial position at the 3rd turn, except 180 degree starting turns.
The objective is to stay behind his back, playing a game of hide and seek with him.
You will need to stand on top of his shadow at the back to not get petrified. If you look closely, one of his side skulls will pulse in green, this indicates he will rotate to that direction.
x85 Red Field
He will spawn the red zones again, but this time he will disappear immediately to do an insta death neck slice.
If you happen to have esther meter up, you can use Thirain to activate a hidden version of the sidereal for extra damage and stun time. You can use it when he appears to do a neck slice.
x53 Skull Football
Akkan will repeat the Skull Football Mechanic.
Sometimes if your DPS is slow, you may see another lantern pattern instead.
Stay back and check for green smoke to distinguish between the 2nd skull football mechanic and the lantern mechanic.
x0 Last Destruction Phase
At 0 bars, a cutscene plays, and Akkan charges up power in the middle. You must strike with sufficient destruction points to end the fight.
Akkan's ghosts spawn in cardinal and ordinal positions and should be countered - these will provide enough meter for Thirain.
Use and .
Watch out for tentacles, aimed pizza, and cross lasers as they deal heavy damage, The pizza attack is aimed at a player.
Counterable Mechanics
Spin Counter
Akkan raises both hands and winding downwards for a spin.
Failing to counter will result in a continuous spin to an inside safe explosion.
Stay behind him throughout this pattern if you see the counter has been failed or executed due to internal cooldown.
Crouch Counter
Akkan crouches and stabs his scythe on the floor.
While not dangerous, he will dash forward if the counter fails.
During the red zone mechanic, avoid countering him on purpose to re-position Akkan away from the center.
Normal Attacks
Deskaluda Laser
2 players will have a circle under them, while the rest will have lasers pointed at them.
The players with the circles are the safe spots for the after-explosion. It's crucial to aim the lasers away from other players to avoid unnecessary damage.
The safe spot players can position themselves at opposite walls to prevent stacked explosion damage.
Scythe Spins
There are two variations, if Akkan spins his scythe above his head it’s inside safe spin.
If he slams the scythe behind him it’s an outside safe uppercut.
2 Slams to backward slam
Akkan smashes his scythe twice at the aggroed player, then dashes forward to turn around and slam his scythe again.
Pay close attention to these two slam animations as they become enhanced in the 3rd gate.
Scythe throw to laser
Akkan performs a sequence of slashing twice and throwing his scythe like a boomerang.
Then, he dashes forward, shooting a laser blast behind him.
To avoid getting hit by any of his attacks, stay on his diagonals throughout the whole pattern, you can still land your front or back attacks.
Slam to 270 lantern fire
Akkan smashes the ground in front of him and fires a 270-degree lantern in that direction.
Staying at the back is safe throughout the attack. However, front attackers can stay very close to the front to avoid lantern damage.
Rotating lasers
Akkan will raise his hands and rotate two large lasers, getting hit by this attack is fatal and leads to a significant increase in the plague meter.
Prioritize avoiding than dealing damage.
Green pools and pizza
One player will be aggroed for pizza while others have green circles about to explode under their feet. Scatter to prevent stacked damage on players.
There's a brown variation of this as well, one person will be rooted for a brown circle explosion, while one person will be aggroed for a large brown pizza.
The player with the brown large pizza need to avoid the attack from the rooted player since he cannot move.
Uppercut
In one variation, he fires a laser, leading to a significant plague meter increase.
It's crucial to stay behind or diagonal during all of his scythe attacks to avoid damage.
Red cross
This animation resembles a counter, but you can identify it by the glowing red lantern.
Four players will be marked with a cross explosion, and they must scatter.
Watch the debuff time to know when it will explode and dodge accordingly.
Lantern Firespin
Akkan will spin his lantern around and create an x shaped attack.
Be aware this attack hurts a lot more than you think.
Pizza
There's a green map wide pizza attack.
Safe spots are always indicated before the explosion.
This pattern is enhanced at gate 3 so take note of the explosion timings.
Pummeling
Akkan will get in position and smash the ground multiple times as if he is angry.
This does tons of damage so if you happen to see the animation happening, always move away.
Jump Smash to Star Shape
Akkan will fly up and jump down with a smash, the after explosion will be a red star shape that deals tons of damage.
