Xerath Strengths & Weaknesses
Strengths

Unparalleled poke with his ArcanopulseQ and Eye of DestructionW. His Eye of DestructionW slow makes it much easier for him to be able to land his ArcanopulseQ and Shocking OrbE on his opponents.

His Shocking OrbE is a stun, which can be game changing if it lands on the proper target. It also gives Xerath some form of self peel as he doesn’t want enemy champions on his face.

His Eye of DestructionW slow can also help him immensely in team fights. He can set-up opportunities for his team to land their crowd control on the Eye of DestructionW slow inflicted member of the enemy team.

Weaknesses

Very immobile and susceptible to crowd control from the enemy team, especially when he is charging his ArcanopulseQ up.

Can be easily all-in’d if he uses his Shocking OrbE carelessly and he doesn’t have his Flash up. Can be flanked with ease when he is pushed up in the lane due to his in-built waveclear.

His Ultimate Rite of the ArcaneR can easily be interrupted and can be used as a traction to target him and get rid of him immediately. Xerath will need to position properly before using his Ultimate Rite of the ArcaneR , else there is a good chance that he will get killed immediately.

Game plan
Early game
0 - 15 min
Xerath is Average

Harass the enemy throughout the laning phase with your ArcanopulseQ and Eye of DestructionW. Your goal is to constantly harass the enemy whenever possible and get kills.

After destroying the bottom lane tower, rotate to the mid lane and try to take that tower. This will open up the map and give your team a gold lead. Poke and harass the enemy Mid laner and force them away from the objective to make it easier to secure the mid lane tower.

Whenever your Ultimate Rite of the ArcaneR is up, try to use it on the enemy laners to get their health low. Ideally, poke them down first before using it to make it easier for you to kill the enemy.

Mid game
15 - 25 min
Xerath is Average

Try to delay team fights for as long as possible while you harass the enemy and poke them down with your ArcanopulseQ. If you can get them low, then you can commit to the team fight.

Keep a constant eye on what major objective is spawning next. If it’s spawning soon, make sure you place vision around the objective as quickly and as safely as possible before retreating to safety. Having vision around major objectives is key.

As a Support, you’re quite vulnerable and can easily be killed when going to ward, when you’re moving around the map, and when you’re alone. To reduce the chances of dying and getting caught out of position, try and stick with your team at all times.

Ward major objectives and place vision in high traffic areas in the late stages of the game. Keep them warded so you can see the enemy move around the map and see them starting the objective.

Stay with your team at all times. Avoid moving around the map alone so you do not get caught out. Getting caught out will result in your team having to play 4v5. Do not ward alone unless you know where the enemy is.

Peel for your allies as much as possible. Keeping them alive for as long as possible in team fights is a must in order to win the game.

Power Spikes
Early game0 - 15 min

Xerath's level 6 is very powerful as he can snipe targets from a long-range in both his or some other lane. The damage output will increase along with items, so it will only make him more powerful.

The first item purchase will make Xerath extremely obnoxious in the lane. This is because his poke damage will be very high, and the enemy will get chunked out even before they can reach him.

More points in his ArcanopulseQ will result in more damage being dealt to enemy targets. Slowing the target with hiss Eye of DestructionW would be optimal to guarantee a ArcanopulseQ hit on the enemy.

Mid game15 - 25 min

Adding another point in his Ultimate Rite of the ArcaneR will allow Xerath to land more shots on targets. It will help him a lot when trying to finish off enemies who have escaped with poor health.

At level 9, Xerath's ArcanopulseQ will be maxed out. It will be obnoxiously easy for him to poke out the enemy laners now, mainly if he uses the lane brushes for the same purpose.

Xerath will have a maxed-out Eye of DestructionW when he hits level thirteen. This will deal with increased damage and allow Xerath to chain his ArcanopulseQ along with it. The result will be a massive chunk of damage.

Late game25+ min

Xerath's damage will skyrocket during this stage of the game. This is quite helpful for him as it allows him to carry his team later on during the game. His pick potential is quite massive as well.

Once Xerath gets his Ultimate Rite of the ArcaneR maxed out, he will be able to land even more shots on unsuspecting enemies. Xerath will need to ensure that he stays in a safe position while doing so.

Xerath's poke is quite unparalleled during major team fights. He will have a great time using the fog of war and range advantage to one-shot squishies.
