Kelvin can be played as a utility poke “mage” with high mobility and map presence. In this build, we will focus on taking advantage of the power of his Frost Grenade.
Early Game
Buy High-Velocity Mag as your first item to help you secure and deny souls.
Hollow Point Ward into Headshot Booster, Mystic Burst and Extra Charge to establish a strong lane presence and kill pressure!
Close Quarters, Extra Health, and Extra Spirit will continue to push your early tempo.
Sprint Boots allows you to zip around the map, combine that with Ice Path and you can become a ganking machine.
Mid Game
In the midgame prioritize filling up your slots while pressuring the map.
If ahead, prioritize buying Rapid Recharge and Improved Burst.
Late Game
At this point decide whether you want to commit to Spirit or Weapon depending on your team’s damage spread and enemy team’s resistances.
Upgrade Headhunter, Pristine Emblem and Point Blank if you have no slots, otherwise Hunter's Aura and Alchemical Fire are great items for fighting enemies inside your Frozen Shelter.
If you decide to focus more on Spirit, upgrade Improved Spirit and Superior Cooldown, then begin saving up for Mystic Reverb, Boundless Spirit, and Echo Shard.
Situational Items
Mystic Reverb helps you slow down the enemy team while also making your poke stronger.
Boundless Spirit is a very solid item and will make you a lot stronger while also making your healing much more efficient.
Echo Shard is the best option for increasing your burst potential, use it after throwing out a Frost Grenade.
Siphon Bullets is one the best 6200 Vitality items on Kelvin, it deals a lot of damage while also making you much harder to kill with the healing output Kelvin provides.
