All 36 Heart Piece Locations - Zelda Ocarina of Time Remake

In this guide, you'll learn about the locations of all 36 Heart Pieces in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake. Heart Pieces can be found all across Hyrule - Sometimes hidden, others locked behind side quests or time travel puzzles. Every 4 Heart Pieces turn into a permanent Heart, for a total of nine.

We have grouped the locations of all Heart Pieces by their locations, showing them in maps as well as describing their requisites. They are ordered based on how early you can get them.

Child Link

Piece of Heart #1

From the initial room in the Lost Woods, turn right. In this room, you'll have to play a minigame with the two Skull Kids. Use your Ocarina, and follow their song. They will give you Rupees on your two first successes, and a Piece of Heart on your third.

Piece of Heart #2

From the initial room in the Lost Woods, turn left. Play Saria's Song to the Skull Kid and he'll reward you with a Piece of Heart.

If you haven't learned Saria's Song yet, you'll need to reach the Sacred Grove by following the song inside the Lost Woods, and find Saria to learn her song.

Piece of Heart #1

One of the first Heart Pieces in the game is found inside Lon Lon Ranch's barn, in the far back of the Ranch:

You'll have to move the boxes inside and crawl to a hidden room, where you'll find the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

As Adult Link, examine the Fairy carving on the lonely tree near the Hyrule Castle Town drawbridge, on the northern part of the map.

Then, as Child Link, use a Bomb on the cracked rocks near the same location to reveal a Grotto. Talk to the Business Scrub inside and select the option Sell somethin', will ya? - He will sell you the Piece of Heart for 100 Rupees.

As Adult Link, examine the Fairy carving near the open chest in the northwestern side of the map, hidden behind a stone platform.

Then, as Child Link, come back and open the chest to find the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #1

During the Cuckoo minigame, use the Cucco standing behind the Windmill to glide to the nearby blue rooftop (the one above Granny's Potion Shop). Talk to the lonely man on the other side of the rooftop, and he will give you a Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

Use the Longshot (Grappling Hook) to reach the elevated vines behind Impa's House, the southernmost one in the village. From there, jump over to Impa's rooftop and into the red rooftop nearby, where you'll find the Piece of Heart.

Obtained as a reward from the Rich Cursed Map for finding 50 Gold Skulltulas.

Piece of Heart #1

Visit the Graveyard at night and pay Dampé to dig up holes until you find a Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

Move the rightmost tombstone on the upper row to reveal a Grotto. You'll find the Piece of Heart inside.

Piece of Heart #3

Drop into Dampé's grave and finish the racing minigame in less than 1 minute to obtain the Heart Piece.

Piece of Heart #4

After finishing Dampé's racing minigame, use the Longshot (Grappling Hook) to access the Kakariko Windmill. Carefully jump over to the moving platform and onto the other ledge containing the Piece of Heart.

As Child Link, plant Magic Beans in the soft soil in the northern part of the graveyard.

Then, as Adult Link, return to the same spot and use the Magic Plant to reach the Piece of Heart in the elevated platform.

Piece of Heart #1

After clearing Dodongo Cavern, you can find a distressed lady at Hyrule Castle Town at night only. She will ask you to find Richard. Bring her the white dog that is running around Castle Town and she'll reward you with a Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

After beating Dodongo Cavern, complete all three levels of the Bombchu Bowling minigame and you'll obtain a Heart Piece as a reward.

Piece of Heart #3

After obtaining the Lenses of Truth, use them to beat the Treasure-Chest Shop minigame by revealing the chests with keys inside. The minigame is only available at night.

Piece of Heart #1

Use a Deku Stick to light up the four torches around the giant Goron vase in the middle of Goron City. Then, climb to the upper flow and throw a Bomb inside it to obtain the Piece of Heart. You can use your own Bombs or the nearby Plant Bomb.

From the entrance, drop down between the two climbing nets to find the Piece of Heart hidden behind you. You'll need to be quick, as the heat will reduce your HP gradually.

Piece of Heart #2

From Death Mountain Crater's entrance, turn left and drop down to find a Business Scrub. Reflect his projectile using the Hylian Shield and he'll sell you a Piece of Heart for 100 Rupees.

Piece of Heart #1

Grab the Cucco near the iron gate at the start and carry it until the middle section, near the Spider enemies. Use the Cucco to jump and glide to a hidden ledge. Then, climb the vines to the elevated area and jump over to the southern platform.

Drop down into the Grotto, grab a new Cucco, and carry it to the elevated area. Use it to jump and glide to the isolated platform on the northern side, where you'll see the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

Grab the Cucco near the iron gate at the start and carry it until the end of Zora River. Just before the exit, you'll see the Piece of Heart on an isolated ledge to your left (in the northern part of the map). Use the Cucco to glide and grab it.

Piece of Heart #3

As Child Link, plant Magic Beans in the soft soil next to the Death Mountain Crater teleport location.

Then, as Adult Link, return to the same location and ride the Magic Plant to reach the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #4

As Adult Link, learn the Song of Storms.

Then, as Child Link, play the Song of Storms at the Frog Tune minigame near the middle section of Zora River. The frogs will reward you with the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #5

Requires learning Zelda's Lullaby, Saria's Song, Song of Epona, Song of Sun, and the Song of Time.

As Child Link, perform all these tunes to the Frogs (might also require playing the Song of Storms and obtaining Piece of Heart #4 beforehand).

Then, play the frog jumping minigame, where you'll have to play the following notes in order:

Piece of Heart #1

Use a Deku Stick to light up all the torches across the Zora Domain. You can find a lit up torch in the Throne Room, and you must light up 8 torches in total, following the winding path down to the bottom area, where the Piece of Heart will spawn.

During the fishing minigame, catch a fish of 50cm or bigger and show it to the Fishing-Pond Man to receive the Heart Piece. Stand on the logs to reach further into the lake and catch bigger fish.

During the fishing minigame, catch a fish of 60cm or bigger and show it to the Fishing-Pond Man to receive the Golden Scale. Then, enter the Lake Hylia observatory and dive down to the bottom of the pool. The lady will reward you with the Piece of Heart.

As Child Link, plant Magic Beans in the soft soil near the observatory.

Then, as Adult Link, return to the same spot and ride the Magic Plant to reach the upper part of the observatory tower, where you'll find the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #1

From the entrance, grab the Cucoo to your left and use it to jump and glide across the Valley to reach the chest in front of you, which contains the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

Grab the Cucoo near the entrance and glide down the Valley. Land in the northwest part of the river and follow the hidden path behind the waterfall to reach the Piece of Heart.

Carefully traverse the ice platforms until you reach the easternmost one, where you'll find the Piece of Heart.

Piece of Heart #2

Near the middle of the Lake, you'll see a glowing Piece of Heart at the bottom of the lake. Descend using the Iron Boots to obtain it.

Reach a score of 700 points or higher in the horseback archery minigame, which can be found in the southern part of the Gerudo Fortress.

Piece of Heart #2

As Child Link, speak to the Scarecrow in Lake Hylia and create any song using 8 notes. It can be as simple as repeating the same two notes over and over, like X Y X Y X Y X Y.

Then, as Adult Link, repeat the same song to the Scarecrow to learn the Scarecrow Song. Head over to Gerudo Fortress and use the Longshot (Grappling Hook) to reach the elevated vines in the open area. From there, drop down into the Gerudo Fortress and traverse its rooftops until you reach the highest area.

From the rooftop, you'll see a gust of wind in the air. Use the Scarecrow Song to spawn a Scarecrow, and use the Longshot (Grappling Hook) on it to reach the nearby chest, which contains the Piece of Heart.

As Child Link, plant Magic Beans in the soft soil found in the southern part of the map.

Then, as Adult Link, return to the same spot and ride the Magic Plant to reach the Piece of Heart.
