In this guide, we'll be going over how to defeat 'Mogdi, The Black Hand Mole Chief' in Sephiria 1.0. We'll cover where you encounter the boss, what the attacks are, and some general advice on how to beat it!
Overview
Where To Find Mogdi
You'll encounter Mogdi at the end of Chapter 1. All bosses in Sephiria are faced sequentially, making Mogdi the first boss you'll fight within the game.

All Mogdi Attacks & Counter Strats
Much like all bosses in the game, Mogdi has a large variety of attacks he'll use both in the first, and second phase of his fight. Below you can find a brief overview of each one, and tips on how to counter them. We'll also outline which phase you'll see them in for the first time.
(names not official)
Attack 1: Dash Cleave
- Fight Phase: First
- What It Does: A fast telegraphed charge towards the target, swinging his blade at the end
- How To Counter: Dodge towards Mogdi as he fires off the attack, getting an attack in if possible

Attack 2: Super Dash
- Fight Phase: First
- What It Does: A speedy dash across the screen, dealing large amounts of contact damage
- How To Counter: Dodge vertically when you hear the sound. You should be able to time it correct and evade the dash.

Attack 3: Ground Slam
- Fight Phase: First
- What It Does: Slams the ground in a wide radius around him
- How To Counter: Get out of the area within the 4 red markers on the ground before the attack fully charges

Attack 4: Carpet Bomber
- Fight Phase: Second
- What It Does: Covers the arena horizontally in a barrage of bombs
- How To Counter: The side of the arena last to be hit by bombs will be safe at the very end. Run to it before the bombs reach you, and you'll be safe

Attack 5: Chasing Bombs
- Fight Phase: Second
- What It Does: A wave of dynamite falling from the ceiling periodically for a short amount of time
- How To Counter: Keep moving, making sure not to get caught in the red attack circles. If you're too slow, try to outrun them via dashing

Attack 6: Falling Bombs
- Fight Phase: Second
- What It Does: A large amount of bombs will randomly fall from the ceiling at around the same time, not targeting the player outright
- How To Counter: Keep an eye on your surrounding area, being careful not to move too much. The trick to not getting hit here is to remain calm

General Fight Tips
- Try to bring a summon such as ballistas with you, as they can draw aggro well
- Ranged attacks or ranged summons like planets are a great choice for staying out of dodge
- Keep aware of the sound made by the horizontal dash attack to aid in timing it right
- Keep moving to avoid being hit by the fast dash attacks
