Probably Stolen is the newest fixation for any gamer looking to become a cyberpunk shopkeeper. On the day-to-day operations you'll be in charge of haggling with customers, managing your inventory, and keeping the rent paid. One of the mechanics you'll want to know about as you progress is purifying water. In this guide we'll go over how to do it.
Overview
What Makes Water Pure
Water purification is rated on the % Purity, when tested with the AquaScan machine. It follows a fairly strict chart, which is then used to determine what it will be classified as in the game. The ratings for each type can be found below.
Pure: 99.9 - 100%
High Quality: 99 - 99.9%
Basewater: 98 - 99%
Ghostwater: 96 - 98%
Rustwater: 90 - 96%
Gutterflow: Anything below 90%
Water Purifier
While there are a good few ways to purify various impurities in your water, the most all-rounded method is the Water Purifier. With this machine, you'll be able to insert any bottle of rusty water you have on hand (1 Container Max), transforming it into Basewater. Like most machines though, you'll need an energy cell to power it, and will also need to leave it over time to get the work done.

It should however be noted that this method will only get the water to 99% purity. If you want to get it to full purity, you will need to input Modules. This way, you'll be able to raise the quality of the machine to 100. Once the machine reaches 100% quality, it will then be able to get you fully pure water.
If you're looking to grab a purifier, you can purchase it from Dr. Jackson.
Moisture Farm
A solid method to get your hands on High Quality Water is by using a Moisture Farm. By simply providing this machine with a container and some energy, you'll passively generate Ghostwater over time. But if you're able to get the quality of this machine to surpass 50, it instead will start outputting Base Water. If you continue upgrading and manage to get it to reach 100, you'll instead start to generate High Quality Water.

Once you've pulled out your High Quality Water, you should be able to run it through a couple of jug filters. Doing this will eventually let you circle back to your Water Purifier, where you can pour in the filtered water to make it Pure. Remember that if you're ever unsure about the quality of the water you have on hand, it can be tested with a water test strip.
Other Purification Methods
While the water purifier might be the best method for getting highly contaminated to a pure state with little hassle, it doesn't mean there's no value in the other methods of clearing up water.
Water Purification Tablets + Filter: An easy way to get some Basewater is to start off with Rustwater and place a tablet in. Once done, run it through a water filter and it will become base.
UV Light + Filter: One helpful trick you can utilize is the UV Light. By placing it over some Basewater, you can remove a lot of the impure microbes. Once done, you can drop the water into a jug with a filter, which will give you High Quality Water
Gutterflow Tilapia Fish: You can sit these fish in the contaminated water, and they will naturally begin clearing it up, getting rid of harmful chemicals and metal contaminants. This isn't going to get your water to a super high quality, but it certainly helps.
Heating Water: By heating up your water with the heating plate item, you'll be able to eliminate a large portion of waste. Do note though that in order to do this, it will need to be heated to at least 80C
Conclusion
Hopefully this guide helps you out when cleaning up your water in Probably Stolen. If you want to check the game out for yourself, take a look at their Steam Page. Have fun out there, and try not to get caught off guard by any bad actors ;)
