Party
First up, to efficiently farm the most, you will need a good Party consisting of a High Damage Mount, and 4 Pals to increase drops. For each route, there are different types of Pals being fought to consider, but there will be consistency across all of them for 4 of the 5 Pals.
Mount Recommendations
Eidrolon,
Eidrolon Ignis,
Jetragon, or
Shaolong
All of these are some of the best, and strongest Flying Mounts in the game, and they have access to some very strong attacks. For attacks, you want the ability to take out multiple in a group with one attack, so things like Meteorain or Blazing Beam (
Eidrolon exclusive skill) are great for eliminating packs of wild Pals.
Honorable Mention:
Faleris, while
Faleris is not nearly as good as the others, it has dual-usage as it increases the drops of Ice Types as well.
Pals with Partner Skills for Increased Drops
Elphidran or
Enchanted Sword - Partner Skill increases drops from Dark Types
Katress or
Blazehowl Noct - Partner Skill increases drops from Neutral Types
Vaelet - Partner Skill increases drops from Ground Types
Menasting or
Menasting Terra - Partner Skill increases drops from Electric Types (and increases player's Defense)
Faleris - Partner Skill increases drops from Ice Types
Nitemary - Partner Skill increases Pal Soul drops from Pals by 100-200%
In the World Tree routes in this guide, Neutral and Dark types will be abundant across the board, so always keep these in the party, as well as
Nitemary, unless you are not interested in Pal Souls, then run all 4 of the typing drop Pals. It is important to utilize mass breeding or Starfruits in order to max out each of the Pals, so the drop rate increase goes from 30% at 0-Stars, to 80% at 4-Stars.
Nitemary is 100% at 0-Stars, and 200% at 4-Stars.
Equipment
Having the Elphidran Charm and the Pal Tamer's Glasses are fantastic for these routes, boosting your Dragon Damage for your mount, and decreasing incoming Dark Damage, while also giving you the ability to see wild Pal's hidden potential numbers, and leaving them at 1HP for easy captures. Capturing the Pal's and then butchering them at the Pal Disassembly Line is the most efficient way of doing this, but if you want to just fully eliminate them instead, that is fine, you will still get lots of resources this way, it's just more efficient to capture/butcher, but will require a good amount of resources to craft enough Spheres, as well as having the Scatter Sphere Launcher to spam capture the groups of Pals, especially
Wistella and
Selyne pack spawns. Having an AOE weapon yourself is also nice, but even the Mechanical Bow is good to one or two shot the single Pal spawns.
*Note* this is also a good way of leveling up Pals as well if you need to level any up and aren't worried about min-maxing the amount of resource drops for a few runs. Equip the Growth Acceleration Bell and feed your Pals a Seafood Salad to maximize EXP gains.
