Overview

Palworld’s endgame systems make it much easier to turn an ordinary Pal into a fully upgraded member of your party or workforce. Through selective breeding, Passive Skills, Condensing, Awakening, levelling and Trust, you can dramatically improve almost any Pal.

This is an endgame process intended for players who have reached the World Tree and unlocked the Ancient Hatchery. It can be used for combat Pals, mounts, support Pals or base workers, so you should begin with whichever Pal best suits your needs.

The basic process is to breed copies until you produce a Pal with maximum Talents, customize its Passive Skills, Condense the unwanted offspring and then finish it through Awakening, levels and Trust.

Selecting Your Pal

Begin by deciding what you want the finished Pal to do. A combat Pal will need different Passive Skills from a mount, support Pal or dedicated base worker.

The process works with almost any Pal, so you do not need to copy the example used here. Choose something that will remain useful during your endgame progression.

Solenne is a strong example because it can support the player in combat while also providing excellent Handiwork at the base. Its Partner Skill increases the player’s Attack when every Pal in the party is a different species, allowing it to contribute even when it is not actively fighting.

Your starting Pals do not need good Talents or Passive Skills. Even a poor breeding pair can eventually produce a fully optimized result through the Ancient Hatchery and Pal Surgery Table.

You will need two compatible versions of the selected species. If both are the same gender, use a Pal Reverser at the Pal Surgery Table to change one before beginning the breeding process.

Breeding for Maximum Talents

The Ancient Hatchery allows two assigned Pals to rapidly produce and automatically hatch large batches of eggs. The aim is to gradually combine maximum Health, Attack and Defense Talents onto a single offspring.

Start with Vegetable Cakes. These produce two eggs at once, making them ideal when you need lots of offspring and are still searching for maximum Talents.

Check every new Pal and look for one with a maximum value in any of its three Talents. Once you have maximum values across different Pals, begin breeding those Pals together.

For example, you could combine a parent with maximum Health and another with maximum Attack. When an offspring inherits both, replace one of the parents with that stronger result. Repeat the process with a Pal carrying maximum Defense until all three Talents appear together.

Once you have suitable parents, switch to Extravagant Vegetable Cakes. These make Talents more likely to improve and can also produce mutations, helping with the final stages of the process.

Breeding still involves some luck, so produce a few eggs at a time when searching for a specific combination. There is no need to worry about unwanted Passive Skills on the finished offspring because those can be replaced later.

Effects that require the player to collect an egg manually will not activate inside the Ancient Hatchery because its eggs hatch automatically.

Adding the Best Passive Skills

Once you have a Pal with maximum Talents, take it to the Pal Surgery Table. This allows you to remove its unwanted Passive Skills and replace them with options suited to its intended role.

Passive Skills can come from several sources:

  • The Arena Merchant offers Passives purchased with Battle Tickets.
  • PIDF Bounty Officers provide another selection of permanent Passives.
  • World Tree Passives can be obtained by processing Ancient Relics through the Ancient Relic Recycler.

Choose Passives that complement the Pal instead of simply selecting the rarest options. Mounts benefit from mobility and stamina, combat Pals need offensive or defensive effects, base workers want improvements related to their jobs, and support Pals should strengthen the player or the rest of the party.

Solenne can be built around its ability to support the player, but it can also receive Passives that improve its own combat performance or survivability. The best combination depends on how you intend to use it.

Ancient Relics are collected by defeating Pals around the World Tree. Processing them can provide World Tree Passive items alongside other valuable resources. Adding World Tree Holy Water to the recycler speeds up the process but does not improve the resulting rewards.

If you regularly gather resources at the World Tree, consider keeping a Pal with Dimensional Leap in your party. This prevents World Tree resources from disappearing when approached.

Condensing and Awakening Your Pal

The large number of unwanted offspring produced while improving Talents can now be used for Condensing.

Place the completed Pal into the Pal Essence Condenser and use its spare copies to raise it through each rank. Fully Condensing a Pal strengthens its Partner Skill and can improve its Work Suitability, making it valuable for combat and base work.

This is why none of the unsuccessful breeding results are wasted. Even Pals with poor Talents or unwanted Passives can contribute toward the final Pal’s Condensing progress.

The next step is Awakening. Processing World Tree relics provides Radiant Gems, which can be used to create elemental Awakening Crystals. The crystal must match one of the Pal’s elements, although a dual-element Pal can use a crystal belonging to either type.

Expeditions are another useful way to collect Awakening materials over time. Each base can operate one Expedition Station, allowing several bases to generate these resources simultaneously.

Using the crystal Awakens the Pal, providing additional Health, Attack and Defense. An Awakened Pal also receives a distinctive aura and gold detailing around its portrait.

Levelling Up and Building Trust

Training Manuals are useful for quickly gaining the first group of levels, but their effectiveness begins to fall off as the Pal approaches the level cap.

Once this happens, place the new Pal in a strong party and defeat World Tree enemies or Tower Bosses. A Pal whose Partner Skill increases experience gained by party members can make this process considerably faster.

Save Training Crystals for the final levels. Each crystal raises the Pal by an entire level, making them much more valuable once ordinary experience gains begin slowing down.

Trust provides another improvement to the Pal’s Health, Attack and Defense. It can be raised immediately with Kinship Peaches, which can be collected from hostile bases around Sakurajima and other late game activities.

You can also build Trust naturally by keeping the Pal in your party while exploring and fighting. This happens relatively quickly during regular endgame play, so Kinship Peaches are mainly useful when you want to complete the process immediately.

Trust does not increase Work Speed, making it less important for a Pal that will only remain at the base. However, it is still valuable for combat, mount and support Pals that regularly accompany you.

Using the Medal Merchant to Save Time

The Medal Merchant provides several ways to skip parts of the breeding and upgrading process in exchange for Dog Coins.

  • Life Fruit increases a Pal’s Health Talent.
  • Power Fruit increases its Attack Talent.
  • Stout Fruit increases its Defense Talent.
  • Star Fruits advance a Pal through its Condensing ranks.
  • Work Suitability Handbooks improve a selected type of base work.

Talent Fruits are particularly useful when a Pal is already close to maximum values. Instead of continuing to breed for a perfect result, you can finish the remaining Talent improvements directly.

Star Fruits can replace missing Condensing progress, while Work Suitability Handbooks help finish base workers that have not reached the desired job level.

These items are entirely optional. Breeding and Condensing remain effective ways to complete the process without spending Dog Coins, but the merchant offers a faster alternative when you already have plenty available.

By combining these shortcuts with the Ancient Hatchery, Pal Surgery Table, Condensing, Awakening and Trust, you can turn almost any ordinary Pal into a fully optimized endgame companion.
