With the launch of Palworld 1.0, there were over 70 new Pals introduced, so here are some of the best Pals that are new! This will be updated as progression is made through the game and more Pals are tested. Legendary Pals will be excluded from this last, as they are going to be better than every Pal regardless.
Overview
Best Pals in 1.0
Pupperai (Ground)

- Partner Skill: Best Boy - While in party, increases the player's melee weapon damage by 10%. (Does not stack)
- Lvl 1 Gathering, Lvl 1 Lumbering, Lvl 1 Transporting
Pupperai is a great new Pal that is available immediately at the beginning of the game. Pupperai boasts 3 very beneficial base related skillsets early on in the game, and is one that should be used immediately in a base to get started. Not only that, but it's partner skill is also quite good early on for melee combat.
Clovee (Grass/Neutral)

- Partner Skill: Happy Clover - While at a base, increases the gathering work suitability level for all other base Pals by +1. (Does not stack)
- Lvl 1 Planting, Lvl 1 Gathering
Another great early game Pal introduced in 1.0 is
Clovee, specifically for it's partner skill, granting any Pal with the Gathering stat, an additional point, which is huge when getting your base off the ground, making gathering your berries more efficient early on when things are slow. It also getting Planting means it will have an additional use to keep your Pals fed early.
Wispaw (Dark)

- Partner Skill: Death-Cheating Feline - While in party, increases the capture rate when awarded a back bonus. (Does not stack)
- Lvl 2 Handiwork, Lvl 1 Lumbering, Lvl 1 Medicine, Lvl 1 Transporting
- Caught at Night
Wispaw s one of the better new Pals that is available quite early on, specifically for it's Level 2 Handiwork stat, which is great QOL in your base when most Handiwork building items still take a little bit. It does gain some usage in your party too, allowing a nice bonus for your catching when you get the back bonus, which you should be going for alongside crits anyways.
Elgrove (Grass)

- Partner Skill: Mother Nature's Menace - When activated, Elgrove changes the player's attack type to Grass and increases attack by 30%.
- Lvl 3 Planting, Lvl 3 Lumbering, Lvl 3 Transporting, Lvl 2 Gathering, Lvl 2 Mining
Elgrove is on this list mainly for how incredibly strong it's stats are for combat (rivals Mammorset), and it's amazing Partner Skill, but don't overlook it's base capabilities too, granting solid levels in some key categories, and is available in the level 20 area, so it will be a great upgrade to your base, as well as your party.
Skutlass (Water)

- Partner Skill: Fish Fillet - When activated, Skutlass becomes the player's Katana (Attack: 2600). If it does not revert to its normal form quickly, Skutlass will become incapacitated. It will also become incapacitated if Iaigiri is used.
- Lvl 4 Watering, Lvl 4 Lumbering, Lvl 1 Gathering
Skutlass is available to find near where you'd fight Anubis Alpha, but this thing is quite a beast itself. Great attacking stats, an incredible and sweet Partner Skill, and it also has solid Watering and Lumbering stats as an added bonus. This is a great combat Pal to add to your team, and is honestly very fun to use the Partner Skill as well.
Tetroise (Ground)

- Partner Skill: Masonry Archelon - While at a base, increases the Mining Work Suitability Level for all others Pals by +1
- Lvl 4 Mining
Tetroise is a tanky and strong Pal, which can be ridden, but it's big draw is it's Partner Skill, allowing +1 to all Pals with the Mining skillset, which is an absolutely fantastic thing to have, especially at those additional Mining bases. Definitely pick this one up from the desert area.
Gildra (Dark/Ground)

- Partner Skill: Ressurection - While fighting together, when Gildra is incapacitated, it revives with its hunger reduced to 0.
- Lvl 5 Handiwork, Lvl 4 Medicine, Lvl 2 Transporting
Gildra is an absolute beast of a Pal, boasting fantastically high attacking stats, even close to
Anubis. As it is also more readily available and easier to find than
Anubis,
Gildra is a fantastic option, offering dual typing as well, and a great Partner Skill for longer combat situations, like a boss fight.
Skutlass Ignis (Water/Fire)

- Partner Skill: Seared Fish Fillet - When activated, Skutlass Ignis becomes the player's Katana (Attack: 2600). If it does not revert to its normal form quickly, Skutlass will become incapacitated. It will also become incapacitated if Iaigiri is used.
- Lvl 3 Kindling, Lvl 3 Lumbering, Lvl 2 Watering, Lvl 2 Gathering
Skutlass Ignis, like
Skutlass, is a great attacking Pal with a super fun Partner Skill, only this time, it has the added typing of Fire, which is the only typing in the game to have 2 types it's strong against. So it is essentially just the better version of
Skutlass, but both are awesome additions to your party.
Moldron (Fire/Ground)

- Partner Skill: Magma Overload - Can be ridden as a mount. This Pal's Attack increases by 4% for each other Fire or Ground Pal in your party.
- Lvl 5 Kindling, Lvl 5 Mining
Moldron can be found on Mount Obsidian, and is one of the more mid-game beasts you can get. Boasting both High Attack and Defenses, alongside a great typing of Fire/Ground,
Moldron is not only a great Pal, but also can be paired with some other stronger Pals like
Anubis,
Wixen,
Flaracle and
Eidrolon Ignis to receive a damage boost itself through it's Partner Skill.
Ophydia (Grass/Water)

- Partner Skill: Glorious Mist - Can be ridden. While in party, the player's attacks inflict Soak 2. (Does not stack)
- Lvl 5 Watering, Lvl 7 Planting
Ophydia is both Bulky and Offensively sound, with a more unique typing of Grass/Water. It's definitely one of the more later game Pals, which I got through breeding
Jormuntide Ignis &
Knocklem Ignis. So it will take a bit of chain breeding to get yourself one of these later on, but it is well worth it with how strong its stats are. It also is one of the highest level Planters in the game, with Level 7 Planting, so it's great in your base too.
Solenne (Dark/Neutral)

- Partner Skill: Untainted Maiden - While in party, increases the Players Attack by 30% if all Pals in party are difference species. (Does not stack)
- Lvl 8 Handiwork, Lvl 4 Gathering, Lvl 2 Transporting
Solenne has the Highest Handiwork level in the game at Level 8, so already it's well worth it to breed these up for your base, but it also has a great Partner Skill if you're choosing a Player Attack Build, buffing you by 30% at base if your team is all unique Pals, and 80% when 4-Star. Not only that, but it has some great Attacking stats itself.
Eidrolon (Dragon/Dark)

- Partner Skill: Liberated Pterosaur - Can be ridden as a flying mount. This Pal's Attack and Movement Speed increase by 2% for each Dragon or Dark Pal in your party.
- Lvl 6 Transporting
Eidrolon is arguably one of the best Flying Mounts in the game that isn't a legendary and can be bred. Boasting incredibly high attack, and fast movement speed, on top of a cool typing of Dark/Dragon, it's an absolute must-get in the later stages of the game. I bred one up with a
Jormuntide Ignis and
Anubis. It also has a good Transporting level, coming in at Level 6.
Eidrolon Ignis (Dragon/Fire)

- Partner Skill: Resentful Pterosaur - Can be ridden as a flying mount. This Pal's Attack and Movement Speed increase by 2% for each Dragon or Fire Pal in your party.
- Lvl 6 Kindling, Lvl 6 Transporting
Eidrolon Ignis like
Eidrolon, is a fantastic late-game Flying Mount, only this time, it replaces the Dark typing for Fire. Great attack (actually 5 points higher than
Eidrolon), an awesome Partner Skill, which allows you to hit harder and move faster, and add Level 6 Kindling to the already great Level 6 Transporting. It's a great one to get, and if you have
Eidrolon, breed it with a
Suzaku, to get
Eidrolon Ignis.
Flaracle (Fire)

- Partner Skill: Burning Future - While in party, when the player attacks an enemy afflicted with Burn, the enemy explodes, dealing damage equal to 40% of the player's attack damage to nearby enemies. (Does not stack)
- Lvl 7 Kindling, Lvl 6 Handiwork, Lvl 2 Transporting
Flaracle is the final one on the list, and it is a monster. It's Partner Skill is amazing if you're doing a Player Attack Build, and pair that with
Solenne, and you've got yourself a strong combination. Not only that, but it boasts some incredibly high Attacking stats itself, and also has the Highest Kindling Level in the game, at level 7.
