Updated on Jul 31, 2026
Jul 31, 2026

Overview

Shadowstrix uses stealth, shadow-based movement, and fast melee strikes to create sudden openings in battle, featuring a unique playstyle among the Mistfall Hunter classes.

Skills such as Sneak, Crow Storm, Shadow Strike, Flurry Strike, Phantom Shift, and Bloody Blade Dance support a combat style built around approaching, striking, repositioning, and continuing pressure. With Shadow Veill and afterimage-related effects, Shadowstrix can turn mobility and timing into repeated attack opportunities.

Strengths And Weaknesses

The Shadowstrix is a high-risk, high-reward class. You'll avoid direct, face-to-face confrontation, using your stealth and mobility to catch opponents off guard and assassinate squishy targets.

If you're looking for a class that can finish off fights in a few seconds, the Shadowstrix is your best choice. You'll have to stay on your toes and act before enemies can react.

  • Best single-target burst damage
  • Excels against squishy classes
  • Stealth allows safe repositioning and escape
  • Can teleport out of range of melee characters
  • Quick Ability casts
  • Low HP
  • Dependent on Abilities to be safe and deal damage
  • Reliant on precise mechanics and fast reaction timing
  • Can struggle against high-level PvE encounters

Dagger and Dual Blade Skills

The following Skills can be used with both Dagger and Dual Blades.

Poison Crow Mark

Hold to aim, then throw a Poison Crow Mark toward the target direction, dealing Physical Damage to enemies hit and reducing their Movement Speed and Dodge Distance for a period of time.

Crow Storm

Hold to aim, then throw a black crow toward the target area, unleashing a Crow Storm upon arrival. During Crow Storm, enemies continuously take Physical Damage.

Dagger Skills

Shadow Wheel Slash

Three-stage attack combo dealing Physical Damage. After each stage, a branch attack can be performed in between, restoring Energy if it hits.

Sneak

Crush crow feather dust to enter Stealth for a period.

Flash Stride

Dash forward a certain distance, dealing Physical Damage to enemies in the path. Flash Stride has a shorter base cooldown in trio mode.

Smoke Bomb

Unlocks at Level 10

Throw a Smoke Bomb at your feet, obstructing the vision of all targets in the area. You gain increased vision range while in the smoke.

Shadow Strike

Unlocks at Level 4

Leave a shadow in place and dash forward, dealing Physical Damage. After a brief delay, the shadow dashes toward your position, dealing Physical Damage and stunning enemy targets it hits.

Dual Blades Skills

Flurry Strike

After a light attack, move backward, then dash forward to deal Physical Damage. Hold to charge, increasing damage and dash distance.

Bloody Blade Dance

Channel Bloody Blade Dance, continuously attacking forward and dealing Physical Damage to enemies hit. Increases Physical Damage after hitting enemies. Can deflect enemy projectiles during the channel. Deals increased damage to enemy players.

Fang Rush

Shortly after dodging, dash forward and deal Physical Damage. After using Fang Rush, dodge energy will not recover for a short time.

Inspiring Impale

Thrust forward, dealing Physical Damage to enemies hit and recovering Energy for yourself.

Inspiring Impale has a shorter base cooldown in trio mode.

Spinning Slash

Unlocks at Level 4

Spin and dash forward with a powerful strike, dealing Physical Damage. Spinning Slash has a shorter base cooldown in trio mode.

Phantom Shift

Unlocks at Level 7

Hold to aim and select a landing point, then teleport to that location after aiming ends. Increases Movement Speed for a period of time after teleporting.

How to Build

When playing Shadowstrix, you'll have to choose between two weapon types: Dagger and Dual Blades. Each weapon has its own Skill-related Talents, so you will be stronger when allocating all of them into a single weapon type.

  • Dagger: Focuses on stealth and lightning-fast Skills to maneuver the battlefield and catch enemies off guard.
  • Dual Blades: High combat mobility and combo damage, reliant on Phantom Shift for mobility.

Best Dagger Skills and Talents

The Dagger allows a unique playstyle by granting Stealth with the innate Skill Sneak for an extended period. This synergizes with some of its fastest Skills, allowing the Shadowstrix to execute targets from stealth in an instant. For this purpose, we'll take the Skills Flash Stride and Shadow Strike. Using both in quick succession is your best bet to deal burst damage and stun enemies in the shadow's path. You'll want to use Shadow Strike as a gap closer first, and then Flash Stride to reposition behind your target, which will guarantee the shadow hits and stuns enemies.

As for Talents, we'll take those that enhance our burst damage:

  • Frequency Shift: After exiting Stealth, enter the Shadow Veil state when attacking enemies. (Shadow Veil grants invisibility, but other players can see you when you're nearby).
  • Element of Surprise: After exiting Stealth or Shadow Veil, all Dagger backstabs are critical hits.
  • Ankle Cut: Enemies hit by Shadow Wheel Slash are slowed.
  • All or Nothing: Shadow Wheel Slash deals more Physical Damage and consumes more Energy.

Best Dual Blades Skills and Talents

The Dual Blades lack the Dagger's surprise element, but deal higher damage and offer great combat mobility. We'll maximize the damage potential of the Shadowstrix with the Skills Inspiring Impale and Spinning Slash, both granting dashes and Physical Damage. You'll want to use these Skills whenever possible, as Spinning Slash is your main damage output and Inspiring Impale regains Energy, which is essential to keep up your high mobility. When using the Dual Blades, you are in control of the battlefield, choosing when to gap close and when to back away. You'll need to react quickly and choose the best moment to engage to get the kill.

The best general use Talents for the Dual Blades are these:

  • Aftereffect: After using Spinning Slash, increases Physical Damage for a short time.
  • Battle Frenzy: Increases Movement Speed when hitting an enemy.
  • Combat Euphoria: When attacking, increases Physical Damage, stacking up to 5 times. At 5 stacks, also grants Physical Piercing.
  • Wild Slash: Sword Aura from Bloody Blade Dance recovers Energy when hitting enemies.

Best Affixes

The Shadowstrix benefits most from these affixes:

  • Fervor: Increases Physical and Magic Damage after hitting an enemy, stacking up to 5 times. Upon reaching a certain level, increases Penetration when at 3 stacks or higher.
  • Valor: Increases Attack. Upon reaching a certain level, also increases Defense Penetration.
  • Vitality: Increases Maximum Energy. Upon reaching a certain level, when entering a state of Energy Overdraft, you become immune to that specific instance of Energy Overdraft.
  • Strife: Increases Melee Weapon Damage. Upon reaching a certain level, increases Melee Weapon Damage for each nearby enemy.

Tips and Tricks

Avoid face-to-face fights

The Shadowstrix has very low HP and lacks durability, so avoid getting caught in the middle of fights. You can use your Skills to disengage safely.

Find the best targets before the fight starts

Focus on finding squishy enemies like Seers, Blackarrows, and Sorcerers, and take them down as soon as possible to guarantee victory. Likewise, avoid facing tanky characters like the Mercenary head-on, as they can often resist your damage.

Track enemy Skill cooldowns

Most classes rely on their Skills for stunning enemies or mobility effects, so you can wait until they have used their defensive Skills and then engage to guarantee kills.

Coordinate fights with your team

The Shadowstrix can be very effective on trios, but your team can be caught off guard if you go around on your own. Communicate with your teammates and let them know your next move so they can follow and assist you.
