1v3 Cataclysm Black Arrow Build – Mistfall Hunter

By Oli
Updated on Aug 17, 2026

Overview

This Blackarrow build controls fights through slows, stuns and damage over time effects while using increased mobility to stay out of danger. Barbed Arrow punishes enemies for dodging, Bloodfly Arrow provides strong burst and Spore Arrow lets you prepare the battlefield before the fight begins.

Impact Grenade and Scattershot provide plenty of self peel, making it extremely difficult for enemies to close the distance when the build is played correctly.

Affixes

Purple Loadout

  • Valor 7 – Increases Attack by 10.5% and provides 1.8% Defense Penetration, significantly improving your direct damage and the pressure from Bloodfly Arrow.

  • Aegis 5 – Provides 75 Defense and 2.5% Physical Resistance, giving you extra protection when an enemy manages to close the distance.

  • Seeker 5 – Hitting an enemy grants 6% Movement Speed for three seconds, stacking up to twice. This combines with your talents to make Blackarrow extremely difficult to chase.

  • Elusive 5 – Reduces the Energy cost of dodging by 20%, allowing you to kite enemies without exhausting your Energy as quickly.

  • Curse 5 – Increases the duration of your debuffs by 25%, keeping Barbed Arrow, Bloodfly Arrow, slows, stuns and freezes active for longer.

  • Focused 5 – Increases Charging Speed by 15% and grants 10% Movement Speed while charging. This makes it easier to land a charged Bloodfly Arrow.

Victory Wine:

Aegis +1 Curse +1 Seeker +2 Elusive +2 Valor +2

Before drinking Victory Wine, the equipment provides Aegis 4, Curse 4, Seeker 3, Elusive 3, Valor 5 and Focused 5. The additional points complete every important breakpoint while pushing Valor to Level 7.

Blue Loadout

Aim for Aegis 5, Valor 5, Seeker 5, Curse 5 and Elusive 4 after using a Level 3 Victory Wine.

Level 3 Victory Wine:

Aegis +1 Valor +1 Elusive +2 Seeker +1 Curse +1

If you only have a Level 2 Victory Wine, use:

Aegis +1 Valor +1 Elusive +1 Seeker +1

This gives you Aegis 5, Valor 5, Elusive 3, Seeker 5 and Curse 4.

Green Loadout

The main priority with the Green setup is reaching at least Elusive 3, as this is the minimum recommended level for comfortably playing the build.

Level 1 Victory Wine:

Elusive +1 Curse +1

These points improve your dodging efficiency and extend the duration of your damage over time effects until you can move into the Blue loadout.

Skills

Blackarrow can equip three special arrows alongside three active skills. This setup focuses on applying debuffs, controlling the enemy’s movement and maintaining enough distance to keep firing safely.

Arrows

  • Barbed Arrow
  • Bloodfly Arrow
  • Spore Arrow

Barbed Arrow should usually be your opening shot. It damages enemies whenever they dodge while marked, while Laceration eventually Stuns them after three dodges in Solos or four in Trios.

Bloodfly Arrow is your main damage option. Try to land all three Bloodflies before connecting with a fully drawn arrow to activate Blood Infection and deal a large burst of damage. This can be triggered using any fully drawn special or normal arrow.

Spore Arrow controls the battlefield by creating traps along chokepoints and kiting routes. Try to place one or two before the fight begins so enemies are forced to move through them while chasing or escaping. This can be replaced by Paralysis Arrow if you prefer its additional control.

Active Skills

  • Impact Grenade
  • Frostblight Bomb
  • Scattershot

Impact Grenade is one of your main self peel tools. It knocks enemies away and applies a Slow through Crippling Pain, helping you regain distance when someone attempts to engage.

Frostblight Bomb occupies the flexible skill slot and does not require any additional Talent investment. You can replace it with Rapid Arrows, Sky Piercer or Shadow Step depending on your preferred playstyle.

Scattershot fires several arrows across a wide area and knocks enemies backwards. Save it for opponents who close the distance, then use the knockback to return to a safer range.

Talents

  • Blood Infection – After stacking Bloodflies, a fully charged arrow deals a large amount of burst damage. Also deals some true damage, which is especially effective against enemies stacking Physical Armor.
  • Laceration – Stuns an affected enemy after they dodge three times in Solos or four times in Trios.
  • Crippling Pain – Adds another reliable slow to your kit and strengthens the build’s ability to keep enemies at a distance.
  • Battle-fed (Blackarrow) – Arrow hits reduce the cooldown of your arrows and abilities. Tap-fired and fully charged arrows both reduce the cooldowns by one second.
  • Lasting Pain – Increases the duration of slows, damage-over-time effects, stuns and freezes. This can even extend crowd control originally applied by teammates, enemies or mobs.
  • Dodge Rapid Shot – The first arrow staggers enemies within range, while both shots apply Lasting Pain. It can also fire your currently equipped special arrow with the first shot.
  • Pursuer and Pursuit Mark – These talents combine your movement-speed bonuses with powerful slows, making it extremely difficult for enemies to chase or escape.

Tips & Tricks

  • Open with Barbed Arrow. This immediately punishes the enemy for dodging and can eventually stun them after enough dodges.
  • Follow Barbed Arrow with all three Bloodflies. Charge your Bloodfly Arrow for as long as it is safe to do so, then land a fully charged arrow to trigger the bonus burst. Tap fire if you need to dodge quickly.
  • Prepare Spore Arrow before engaging. Place one or two around chokepoints, escape routes or areas you plan to kite through. Try to plan your next placement whenever Spore Arrow comes off cooldown.
  • Use tap fires to maintain pressure. Tap fired arrows extend debuffs through Lasting Pain and reduce cooldowns through Battle-fed (Blackarrow) by the same amount as fully charged shots. You can follow them with Dodge Rapid Shot to rapidly extend your effects.
  • Save Impact Grenade and Scattershot for self peel. These are your best tools for stopping enemies from reaching you. Be aware that enemies can jump to avoid being affected by slows while airborne, so do not rely on slows alone when they get close.
