Enchanting items in Minecraft Dungeons 2 is an instrumental part of getting stronger. It unlocks new ways ot play, with creative abilities to either help you kill faster, or survive longer. The utility provided is something the game will quickly introduce you to early on, but just in case you're still confused, this guide will serve as a handy walkthrough on Enchants!
Overview
How To Enchant Items
To begin enchanting, head over to Brave Haven. The enchanting villager can be found just to the right of the exit into Honeycomb Fields. If you're still unable to find it, make sure you've progressed further enough into the story, and have checked the map location marked below.

When you arrive, interact with the Enchantsmith to open up the menu. Enchanting works based off of two main currencies. The first one, is Enchantment Points. These are primarily used to apply different tiers of enchanting books to your items.

The second item is known as Echo Shards. These are used to upgrade the actual merchant level. Items that are only enchant level 1, cannot have level 3 enchants applied to them. This is why Echo Shards are used to upgrade them.
Echo Shards can be found through various methods in the open world, but the best acquisition method is via The Sift, a randomly spawned encounter in the overworld which will teleport you into a randomized encounter. Clearing it will reward you with a variety of Echo Shards. The same activity can also reward you with a variety of enchanting books, which will be needed for this feature.

Which Enchants Should You Use?
The game comes with a variety of enchants all of which will put a focus on utility-based abilities. For early game, it's highly recommended to pick an Enchant such as Healing Smite, which can create a healing zone when defeating enemies. This is fantastic for general survivability, as mob density in Dungeons 2 is especially high.

One thing to beware of however, is potentially wasting materials on enchants. For example, the difference between tier 1 and tier 2 for Healing Smile will increase the chance for the healing well to spawn by 15%. In a game where you're slaughtering tons of mobs all at the same time, this isn't a huge upgrade for the materials you'll be spending to get it early on.

Instead, focus on saving your materials for when you come across a truly fantastic item, and decide that the upgrade is well worth the currency spent. This will save you time farming things like Sifts, so you can keep moving through the game with minimal slow down.
Lastly, below you can find a list of some of the most powerful enchantments in the game, and what they do:
Enchantment Name | Special Effect |
|---|---|
Dynamo | Rolling applies (20%/30%/40%) damage amplification to your next melee or ranged attack |
Tumbleshot | Rolling fires a barrage of (1/1/2) arrows, dealing (110%/120%/130%) of ranged weapon damage |
Somersault | Grants (1/2/3) additional rolls |
Power Amplifier | Artifact usage grants (20%/30%/40%) damage amplification to your next melee or ranged attack |
Lightning Surge | Wave deals (60%/75%/90%) of weapon damage and zaps mobs for a short time, making them weaker but faster |
