How to Farm UNIQUES the BEST Way in Minecraft Dungeons 2!

Updated on Oct 2, 2026
Oct 2, 2026

Overview

Minecraft Dungeons 2 has over 100 different Uniques in the game, spread across multiple different locations, and if you're a completionist, or simply looking to find the missing piece to your build, this guide will help you to easily and efficiently farm for Uniques!

Every item in the game has a rarity assigned to it when it drops: Common, Rare, Special, or Unique. A unique within MCD2 is not a separate entity, but in fact a base item that rolled the Unique rarity on it, turning it into it's own named version of that base item. For example, a Sword that rolls the Unique rarity, will turn from a sword, into The Burning Blade, or a Scythe turns into the Soul Reaper, and so forth. This applies to Melee weapons, Ranged weapons, and Armor only. Talismans and Artifacts CANNOT roll the Unique rarity. This simple rule will help you figure out what drops where. If a Sword drops in the Honeycomb Fields, then so will The Burning Blade. Each Unique item will roll with a fixed effect on it, which is what makes the weapon Unique. Using The Burning Blade as an example, it will always roll 20% increased Fire Damage, which is higher than the normal effect can roll.

With rarities, comes different drop rates. In Minecraft Dungeons 2, there are also 3 different difficulties, but the reason this is pointed out, is because on Easy, the game multiplies the drop rates for Special and Uniques by 0, meaning you will not get any random drops that roll Unique. So simply put, farm on Normal or Hard. The baseline for weighting drops are as follows: Common = 50%, Rare = 25%, Special = 20%, and Unique = 5%. This baseline is also affected by different sources within the game. See the table below for how these base odds are affected:

You also gain increases to rarer drops as you progress through the game and level up. So at max level 100, you have the highest possible chance of finding Uniques from all sources (outside of easy mode).

Farming Methods

Loot Table Data

Depending on where you are in the game will also determine the better locations for farming Uniques, and it is important to note that you will need to farm in nearly every location for all the Uniques, but there are certain areas that have a bigger loot table than others. As shown on the table above, Soul Storms are the BEST Source of Uniques, outside of Bosses. Soul Storms are unlocked after the final boss in the main story is completed, and is the Endgame loop. They last for 15 mins, or until completed, and a pop up will show up, as well as showing an icon on the map as to where the Soul Storm currently is. If you are at endgame, always do these no matter where they are, since Soul Storms also offer special Soul Storm gear, that ALWAYS rolls with an additional effect on it, making the total 3, instead of 2. Below will be a table that contains all named locations in the game, their recommended level, along with how many different Uniques are in that table. This will be the main source of info for where you should farm in each area.

Early Game - Howling Woods + Deep Dark

In the "early game" when you are anywhere from level 1, to level 20, you should be farming both in the Howling Woods, and the Deep Dark, due to their low recommended level, as well as the high amount of Uniques they have in them.

Mid Game - Rainy Plains + Frozen Highlands

Both the Rainy Plains and Frozen Highlands are readily accessible shortly after Howling Woods and the Deep Dark, both being under level 30 for the recommend level, with access to some strong weapons like the Prime Enchanters Gauntlets in the Frozen Highlands, and Frostbiter in the Rainy Plains.

Late Game - The Sift

Once you gain access to the Sift later in the game, Humbler Huskland is the "best" area to farm the most, since it contains the most amount of Uniques, but the entire area is very good as well, and has some real good gear too.

Post-Campaign - Soul Storms

After completing the Final Showdown, Soul Storms will begin to spawn around the map. These should ALWAYS be done before going to fight any bosses or farm anything else. They all can spawn bosses, and spawn a guaranteed chest after every Generator is destroyed, plus an additional one after the final Generator is destroyed. The reason these are so good, aside from the highest drop chance of Uniques, is that they drop special versions of items. The special (blue) rarity items that come from Soul Storm chests will always have 3 effects on them, instead of the 2 that normally drop. This instantly makes these items more valuable, and potentially better than some Uniques. It is also important to note that Uniques can drop from Soul Storms, and will also get an additional effect roll on it as well. So if you get a Soul Storm Unique item, it will have its "unique" effect, and 2 others, instead of the "unique" effect and 1 other.

How to Increase Unique Drop Chance

There are multiple items that can assist in increasing drop chances, on top of the already established Sources and Level Bonuses.

  • The Emerald Hammer - will always roll with a unique effect: +5% chance of higher rarity drops.
  • Oracle Sandals - will always roll with a unique effect: +5% chance of higher rarity drops.
  • Monarch Crown - will always roll with a unique effect: +80% chance to get additional loot drops.
  • Lucky Clover (Talisman) - grants (2%/4%/7%) chance of additional loot drops at levels 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
  • Looter's Charm (Talisman) - raises the chance that defeated enemies drop loot by (1%/2%/4%) at levels 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
