Intro

Rock and Stone!

Today, we take a look at one of the 5 Miners from DRG Rogue Core, the Spotter.

Spotter is the most gun-oriented character and is fully focused on frontal assault. He can take a more supportive approach if you want to, but I do not recommend that cause i think if built properly, he can be the best character in the game when it comes to damage.

Let's first go over his abilities and then over what to build.

Other DRG Rogue Core Classes:

Spotter Abilities

Spotter is very simple. His only ability that requires some thought is his Active ability, besides that, he is very easy to pick up and still contributes to the team.

To start with, his UI and abilities themselves:

Spotter UI

Primary Ability: Crit Dart (3 charges, 18-second CD per charge)

Crit Dart is the ability that makes Spotter so good; he shoots out a dart projectile that marks an enemy for 5 seconds, increasing the crit chance of shots fired against them to 100%. He can also shoot the ground to leave a zone for 10 seconds that increases crit chance against any enemy in that zone. It even lingers on enemies leaving the zone, but not for long.

Secondary Ability: Scanner (24-second CD)

Spotter passively has a radar that detects both allies and enemies. If you use the ability, it marks any enemy or supply for 10 seconds. Your allies can also see these marks.

Ultimate Ability: Rangers Pocket (Needs resupply to use again)

You place down a box of ammo that one person can use to restock half their ammo and armor.

Bio Booster Upgrades

Spotter has two active starting decks. Mobility, which is focused on mobility, and Big Crits, which, as the name implies, is focused on critical hits.

Big Crits is by far his best deck, and every card in there is extremely powerful, which is why, as the Spotter, you need to stack Bio Boosters.

Mobility doesn't really have the best cards, but Rapid Repositioning is good (it increases your sprint speed for the first 3 seconds of running).

Workbench Upgrades

You don't need workbench upgrades for Spotters' abilities to succeed, but getting an upgrade called Potent Dart is very solid. It makes your Crit Darts give bigger crits and makes them last longer.

But I would say it's better to upgrade your guns to make them machines of destruction. Specifically, make the magazines bigger, and the guns do more damage.

What Upgrades to Prioritize

Every time you get enough experience to upgrade, an important choice awaits. Here are some of the types of upgrades you should prioritize.

  • Anything with Crits. Your kit can make it so that eventually you permanently crit targets. This means that with the correct upgrades, you become unstoppable.
  • Movement upgrades are still very solid since you move around a ton.
  • Weapon Damage upgrades, especially weakspot upgrades, are solid on Spotter, since crits can melt weakspot enemies.

You can still have resistance or HP upgrades, but prioritize damage since that is your purpose.

Artifacts

Spotter is solid without artifacts, but specific ones can put him a step above the rest. Here are some outliers:

  • Glass Cannon. You lose 90% max HP, but gain 150% extra damage, very risky, but if you can position well, this is by far his best Artifact.
  • Critical Dodge. Gives you 10% crit chance, and 50% of your crit chance is now added to your dodge chance, meaning you can, in theory, almost become immune to dmg.
  • Frenzy. Every enemy you kill gives you 20% extra damage dealt and +5% damage received for 6 seconds, this effect can stack. This gives you a ton of extra damage, and the downside is not really there.
  • Rampage. +1% Damage per kill. When getting hit, reduce the bonus by 5%. Another risk-reward one with almost no downside if you can position well.
  • Tarred Hands. 50% increased reload speed. Very simple but still very strong.

This is done in order of how strong they are. The top is your priority, so to speak.

Best Weapons

Weapons matter more for the Spotter than any other character since he lives and dies by damage.

You want weapons that, when upgraded, can single-handedly melt bosses.

  • By far the best gun when upgraded is the Bolt-Tec Decker SMG. When upgraded, especially the magazine, which is its only weakness, this weapon is a monster and should be nerfed with how good it is.
  • The Deepcore GK2 is a weapon that was already very good in DRG, but with the ability to upgrade it now, it's on a different level.
  • Lead Storm Powered Minigun is another gun that's solid at a base, but when upgraded is on a different level, especially when it has armor penetration.
