Build Overview

The Rampage Warlock Build Guide teaches you about Gear, Skills, Paragon, Playstyle & Seasonal Mechanics in Diablo 4 Season 13.

The Rampage Warlock allows you to spam down a Blue Hulk from the sky to crush all your enemies. Abyssal Titan Rampage is a fantastic skill that is very fun to use.

Build Variants

Default

Mythical

This is the default build variant. It uses the Godslayer Crown and has Flickerstep as a talisman.

This way you need zero mythics or uniques for the build to be completely functioning.

It also uses the Shadow Set, which is the set with the least amount of friction. This is by far the easiest and most simple way to build the class and to feel good.

Nether Step is your main mobility tool and also generates Shadow Form stacks.
Rampage is your main damage skill — make sure to turn it into an Abyss skill with the right passive so you can recast it for big damage.
Dark Prison gives you damage reduction and Fortify, while also triggering some of your aspects.

Your ultimate is Metamorphosis (Terror Demon Metamorphosis). This one is mandatory because it gives you Shadowstep every second and adds a ton of ranks to your Abyss skills. Without it the build loses a lot of power.

Profane Sentinel is mostly for bosses — it applies Vulnerable and adds extra damage. You don’t really need to cast it while clearing mobs, but you can teleport it with Nether Step to keep it up easily.

Your Greater Demon skill is Summon Laalish.

keep Metamorphosis active as much as possible, spam Rampage for damage, use Nether Step to move around and build Shadow Form stacks, and slot Dark Prison and Profane Sentinel for defense and utility when needed. That’s really all there is to it.

The stats on uniques are random, so here’s what you actually want to look for.

Willpower is a great stat. Attack speed is excellent. Demonology damage and Abyssal damage both work really well. Life, armor, and resistances are solid on defensive pieces.

If you’re running Tyrael's Might, you can get away with fewer rolls of armor and magic resistance and still stay pretty tanky. I actually think it’s a decent item and I’m still debating whether it’s BiS or not.

For tempering, prioritize attack speed and Demonology damage. Critical strike chance and critical strike damage aren’t that important, though critical damage can still be useful.

If you’re playing the mythic version with Heir of Perdition, that helmet gives you even more damage. Bonus Ball damage multiplier is also a great stat to have.

We are running the 5-set bonus for our Abyss skills — the Shadow Set. This gives us a massive increase to damage, and it also helps us keep Shadow Form up because Sigil of Subversion becomes an auto-cast.

For our unique charm, I’m using the Godslayer Crown. You can create it by combining three random unique charms into one, then crafting the Godslayer Crown. Just make sure you have the Ancestral version of it.

For the non-mythic version, you can instead use Flickerstep as your talisman so you can replenish the cooldown of your ultimate.

I'm gonna have to rework the mercenary section a bit.

For mercenaries, you can run Subo for the visibility and movement speed, or you can run Varyana for the extra attack speed. The life leech on her is also pretty decent.

If you go with Varyana, then as your reinforcement you can use Al'Kin for the damage reduction

How it Plays

Nether Step is your mobility skill. It also generates Shadow Form stacks, which is very important for this build.
Rampage is your main damage skill. You need to turn it into an Abyss skill with the right passive so you can Recast it and deal massive damage.
Dark Prison reduces the damage you take and gives you Fortify. It also activates some of your aspects.
Your ultimate is Metamorphosis (Abyssal Form). This is mandatory for the build to function because it grants Shadowstep per second.
Profane Sentinel is great for applying Vulnerable and gives extra damage on bosses. You don’t need to cast it while clearing mobs, but you can teleport it with Nether Step to keep it up all the time without any hassle.
Your Greater Demon skill is Summon Laalish.
