Affixes on item are getting increased from 3 to 4 The number of Tempers an item can have has been decreased to 1, You can now select which temper you want with a chance of a greater affix to be applied to that temper You can now retemper items infinitely
Masterworking
Masterworks now increase the base stats of your gear, up to 25 times. This effect is called Quality. At maximum tempers, a random stat will be given a new 'capstone bonus' which acts like a normal greater affix, but it stacks on top of existing greater affixes.
You can reroll this capstone bonus without having to reset the Quality of the item.
Core Defensive System Rework
Defensive Changes
Armor, Life, Resistances, and Damage Reduction now contribute to a combined stat called Toughness, which is an approximation of your effective HP based on all the defensive stats you have.
In addition to this, Life On Hit is coming back into the game, with it and Healing Received getting vastly increased values, adding another layer of defensive itemization.
Fortify Rework
Fortify has been changed. Instead of being another form of damage reduction, it now acts as a second HP pool. Whenever you take HP damage, you will heal your regular life pool by an equal amount of fortify. This will effectively double your HP if you can avoid dying in a single instance of damage.
Potion Changes
Potions are now reduced to a maximum of 4 Potions now instantly apply all of their healing. Additionally, health potions now heal a percentage of your maximum life instead of a flat amount. Potions now regenerate every 30 seconds.
Monster Changes
Elite Enemy Rework
Enemy AI has been updated to be more aggressive, group up less, and be overall smarter. They will also do increased damage compared to before. Monster Affixes have been buffed Serval monster affixes have also been reworked 20 new monster affixes have been added The Champion class of enemy has been removed from the game, now being replaced by Champ Packs. Elites now spawn with minions that share some of their affixes
Boss Updates - Seasonal Power
Ladder bosses can now be found in new locations - Duriel can be found in Helltides, Belial can be found in Pits, Andariel can be found in Kurast Undercity, and a new boss called Azmodan can be found as a world boss. Azmodan can also be fought by activating specific alters around Zarbinzet.
Killing these bosses in these new locations will grant Divine Favor, used for increasing your Divine Gifts and your seasonal reputation.
Divine Gifts are a new seasonal mechanic. They are glyphs you can apply to your character that can give you one of two bonuses depending on if they're Corrupted or Purified. Corrupted slots are free, but you have to unlock the Purified slots through reputation.
Sanctifying Orbs are another seasonal power being added to the game. They can be used on items to gain increased quality a random effect. You can only use a Sanctification Orb once per item, and that effect is permanent.
Some of these new effects include: replace a random affix with a new special sanctified affix, increases a random affix into a greater affix, adds a new affix from a pool of special sanctified affixes, and gain a random legendary power.
Other Important Info
Towers and Leaderboards Delayed
Towers and their respective leaderboards will not be coming on season launch. They have confirmed the new date of their launch to be in January instead.
