Death Awakening Seasonal Mechanics
Pandemonium Ruptures
Ruptures have invaded sanctuary with an increased frequency during Helltides. Players can maintain these Ruptures by slaying the monsters that spawn from them. The longer a Rupture is kept open the larger the reward, with a Glint of Hopebeing awarded at the end which can be used to level up your Reputation Board in Zarbinzet.
The Reputation Board will award players with Pandemonium Fragments which can be used to craft the new Mythic Unique items using the Horadric Cube. Players can also earn Pandemonium Fragments by killing the new Seasonal Lair Boss, with more on that below.
Pandemonium Ruptures will come in three different tiers:
Ruptures (Normal): These can spawn throughout the overworld of Sanctuary but are especially prevalent in Helltides. These cannot spawn Rift Walkers.
Surging Ruptures: these can spawn in place of any local event within a Helltide. These have a chance to spawn Realm Walkers.
Colossal Ruptures: these appear only in the Fields of Desecration, the World Boss Arena southeast of Zarbinzet. These will Guarantee a Riftwalker encounter when completed.
Realmwalkers
Realmwalkers are a rare but powerful encounter that can appear during higher difficulty Pandemonium Rupturesas outlined above. After successfully killing the Realmwalker, a portal will open to the Deathroll Chambers.
Deathtoll Chamber
The Deathtoll Chambers is a new dungeon type content being added in Season 14 that can only be accessed from killing Realmwalkers or by completeing Nightmare Dungeons with the Rupture affix. Once players complete the dungeon activity, they will be rewarded with new Superior Lair Keys which are needed to loot the new seasonal boss.
New Seasonal Lair Boss
The Corrupted Reaperis a new Superior Lair Boss found inside Zarbinzet which can be unlocked after the Seasonal Questline.
Once defeated, players will be rewarded with a chest requiring a Superior Lair Key to open, with it being stated that this chest in particular will have the best drop rates on Mythic Uniques as well as Mythic Unique Upgrade currency Pandemonium Fragments.
Mythic Unique Reworks
New Mythic Unique System
In season 14, the Mythic tag is no longer a type of rarity. Instead, it is now a modifiable Item Quality. This means that now every unique in the game can become a mythic unique, either dropping as a mythic unique variant, by using the Horadric Cube, or through Jeweler.
Mythic Uniques are always Ancestral and have their Unique Powers increased by 30%. All other affixes roll at their maximum values.
Players will be able to craft or earn Mythic Uniques in a few different ways:
Craft Mythic Uniques using the Horadric Cube using 5 Pandemonium Fragments and a 850+ Item Power Unique
Crafted at the Jeweler using 3 Resplendent Sparks and 15 specific runes
Defeat the Season Lair Boss, a Corrupted Reaper, for a chance to get a dropped Mythic Unique.
Progress through Season Ranks to earn class-specific Mythic Uniques from Mythic Unique Caches
On both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, players will have a very rare chance to find a Mythic Unique whenever an Ancestral Unique would drop
It is important to note that players are limited to only using one crafted Mythic Unique. However players are not limited on equipping Mythic Uniques dropped from bosses or from Cache. Also when crafting, using a Unique item for a specific slot will produce a Mythic Unique item for the same slot. However, as the item is rerolled into any unique of the same slot, putting in a specific Unique does not increase the chance of seeing that same Unique in Mythic form.
Iconic Mythic Affix Changes
To help give room for these new Mythic Uniques to compete, a number of existing Mythic Uniques have been nerfed, and players will no longer be able to craft the currently existing Mythic Uniques at the jeweler. However players can still craft random Mythic Cache at the Blacksmith to receive them there.
All Unique Item Changes
All Unique and Mythic unique items will now roll with a guarantee of 2 affixes, rather than all being random or one guarantee in the case of Iconic Mythics. A list of Affixes can be found in the Patchnotes breakdown here.
Horadric Cube & Crafting Changes
The Horadric Cube will have the following updates in the Season of Death Awakening:
Unique Charms and Non-Ancestral Uniques will be able to use Unique Power Reroll.
Chromatic Tuning Prisms will have a small chance to provide All Resist.
The Occultist will have the following update:
Unique, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic items will be able to have one undesirable affix rerolled with Enchanting.
War Plan Changes
Co-op War Plan Changes
Starting in Season 14, players will be able to sync their War Plans board with their current party. This feature generates a board that generates a new War Plan for the whole active party.
One a new War Plan is started in a party, if a player selects New Plan the following will happen:
When selected, the party will see that a member of their party has initiated the vote to re-roll all War Plan boards and sync them
If all players accept, the person who initiated the vote resets their board and that exact one is then pushed down to the other players.
Note that Plans are synced regardless of War Plan Level or other States (Torment Level, Campaign Completion etc.)
