Build Overview

##Two Builds Twice the fun

This is Sunbird Featherstorm from season 9 but also has the Chaos Version for S10 which is not based on this amulet but needs Chaos Items. Last season had released with the new Sunbird Gorge's, this powerful unique creates a firestorm around which is empowered by your Feathers, we'll be utilizing this unique again in Season 9.

It's a variation of the classic Evade build that uses basic attacks to reset your evades and uses your Evades to cast your Eagle Spirit Main Hall.

    How it Plays

    ##Chaos - End Game

    1. Use Thunderspike to reset the cooldown of your evades and Ultimate.
    2. Cast Evade to activate your Eagle Power and pick up the feathers to activate Sunbird's Gorget.
    3. Cast Armor Hide on cooldown as it will provide you with Block and Unstoppable.
    4. The Seeker will allow you to cast Armor Hide again, this is how we upkeep Unyelding Hits

    ##Sunbird's Version

    1. Use Thunderspike to reset the cooldown of your evades.
    2. Cast Evade to activate your Eagle Power and pick up the feathers to activate Sunbird's Gorget.
    3. Scourge your enemies to fear them and heal yourself.
    4. Cast Armor Hide on cooldown as it will provide you with Block and Unstoppable.
    5. The Seeker is your source of Vulnerability and a great way to increase your damage, cast it as often as you can to keep the buffs up.
    6. Rock Splitter every 3 seconds to gain block and activate Unyielding Hits Aspect

    How it Works

This build focuses heavily on two sources of damage, your amulet the Sunbird's Gorget and the damage of your feathers. Your feathers appear every time you are using a mobility skill or your Evade.

Very conveniently, your Basic attack Thunderspike can reduce the cooldown of your evade by 5 seconds, this allows you to cast your evade very often, making the build quite tanky.

Aspect of Unyielding Hits is a core part of the build, it will increase your damage the more armor you have, you need 5000 armor with a perfect Aspect to achieve it's maximum bonus. To maintain this buff it's important to often cast a Gorilla skill, to do so we have our runes casting Concussive Stomp but also your Armored Hide should be used all the time.

    Leveling

    Optimal Leveling

Some builds require certain Uniques to be playable, usually Blizzard release a new and powerful unique that gives birth to a new build for the season. To Avoid problems, we'll be using a generic leveling build that does not require specific Items to work.

You can't really level well with this build so For the leveling Guide you should check this and click HERE .

    Mercenaries

In this build we are using Raheir to cap our Armor and Varyana as a reinforcement for some extra crowd control.

    Seasonal Powers

    ##Major

    A Beast Cornered

This power is very important as the build is pretty much constructed around it. This power increases our damage as we lose HP and also returns a portion of resources we spend, which can then be multiplied by Ravager and Resource Generation to recover the entirety of our skill's cost.

    --

    ##Minor

    Marred Guard

Reduces our HP to 50% but provides. resistances, armour, barrier generation, and increases the value of A Beast Cornered.

    Alacrity

Our core skills count as basic skills, Alacrity simply increases the Atk Speed of basic skills.

    Accelerating Chaos

Helps reduce our cooldowns and adds a bit of damage.

    Runes

    ##Chaos Version

    • BacOhm provides a 15% damage boost with WarCry.
    • CemQue creates a powerful shield that can be boosted with Barrier Generation, this help us benefit from the Paragon Node Viscious Shield which will further increase our damage.

    ##Sunbird Version

    • BacOhm provides a 15% damage boost with WarCry.
    • CemQue creates a powerful shield that can be boosted with Barrier Generation, this help us benefit from the Paragon Node Viscious Shield which will further increase our damage.

    Elixir and Incenses

It's important to run Elixirs and Incenses at all times. Not only because they increase our XP gain but also because they provide very strong combat boosts.

For Incenses we use Dexterity, Maximum Life and All Resistances. For the starter variant we replace Maximum Life with Armor.

For Elixir we can take Critical Strike damage and Critical hit chance.

    Masterworking and Greater Affixes Explained

    Masterworking and how it works.

Masterworking (MW) enhances an item's stats. Each MW rank boosts all affixes by 5%. Ranks 4,8,12 give a 25% bonus to a random affix (MW Crit).

In this planner, the color blue on an item denotes that the affix got one MW Crit, the color yellow denotes that the item got two MW crits and the color orange denotes that the item got three MW crits.

For future reference the amount of MW Crits on an affix will be denoted by 1MW, 2MW, 3MW.

    Greater Affixes

Greater Affixes (GA) on an item force the affix to roll at the top of it's range of possible values and then applies a 50% increase to its value. GA increases are additive with Masterworking increases.

In this planner, the yellow star to the left of an affix denotes that is a GA.

    Example

To put it all in to practice, let's calculate what stat increase a GA Affix on a 12/12 Masterworked item with 2 MW Crits gets:

    Ranks 1-3, 5-7, 9-11 all give 5% -> 9 * 5% = 45%

    Two MW Crits -> 2 * 25% = 50%

    GA = 50%

    Total = 45% + 50% + 50% = 145%

    Masterworking and Greater Affix Priority

Unless a certain amount of a stat is required and no more, like in the case of Attack Speed Breakpoints, Armor and Resistances, GA and MW priority should be easy to follow.

Guides, which follow a Starter -> Midgame -> Endgame progression, are structured such that the difficulty of the MWing outcome and amount of GAs on items also progresses as expected.

For example, a Starter variant will generally have 1GA items with three 1MW affixes. A Midgame variant will generally have 2GA items with a 2MW Affix and a 1MW affix. An Endgame variant will generally have 2GA/3GA items with a 3MW affix.

From this you can derive that the GA on the starter version is the most important, the second GA added is the second most important and the third GA added is the third most important affix.

In the case of Masterworking, 3MW = most important affix, the 1MW in the Midgame variant is the second most important affix and from the Starter variant with three 1 MW affixes you can know which is the third most important affix.

When GA and MW don't align you are most likely in the presence of a stat with a certain threshold you have to meet or a cap and those will be explicitly stated in the guide anyways.

In the case of Uniques GA and MW, progression standards are generally shifted by one as they are easier to MW because they have 4 affixes and also easier to acquire with multiple GAs.

    Frequently Asked Questions

When can I play this build ##

As soon as you find the Aspects, or even just past level 15.

How do you generate resources without Ring of the Midnight Sun ??

    • You do not need it as this build is based on Basic Attacks.

How much attack speed do I need? Check your attack speed with all buffs up.

    Why Mystic Circles?

    • Jaguar Main Hall is bugged and double dips with several things, including Mystic Circles. Because of this Spiritborn has been using Jaguar as it's main spirit for the past year. You can expect builds to continue using this mechanic till a bug fix which might not occur, it doesn't seem like Blizzard can fix the skill without reworking it, and yes they are aware of the bug.

    Colossal?

    • Colossal can be a good Glyph if you are using Resolve Stacks, but generally builds have not been using this anymore.

How much Barrier generation do I need?

    • 123% is cap to turn your Earther Bulwark barrier from 45% of your Health to 100%.

Vessel of Hatred has incorporated a "stat squish" along with the new Torment difficulties that make us incur heavy penalties to our Armor and Resistance values. There are various ways to help alleviate this problem:

    • - Use Yen's Blessing, it will provide with all the resistances you need and you can use Armor on the gems slot, Replace Xal runes with Kry.
    • The Soothing Spices Type II Incense provides 10% All Resistance and 150 Armor.
    • The Song of the Mountain Type I Incense provides 200 Armor.

What do I do when I lack Paragon levels?

You do not need all the Paragon Points, feel free to remove damage, mobility or resistances while you grind your levels. What you remove will depend on what your character is lacking.
