Build Summary

Starfall Coronet is the worst helmet to ever be released. It turns meteor into a powerhouse visually, but kneecaps the skill by forcing it to be a cooldown. The helmet slot is prime real estate, having to forego Perdition or Harlequin crest. You need to invest so much into cooldown and perfect masterworks to get it to feel good, and even then it's terrible.

For that reason, this is a pure meteor build using the Perdition Helmet. Being able to spam meteors that deal 60% more damage outweighs anything that starfall coronet could provide. I hope this brings some much needed life to a skill that took the life of the dinosaurs. And to avoid any confusion, Meteor is classified as both a mastery and a core skill.

• Defensive tempers are really going to come down to whether you manage to get greater affix armor pants, GA armor eliminates the need to temper armor onto the amulet • Offensive tempers - my advice is to use Pyromancy Finesse tempers, and really anything you land on is fine. Mastery Damage, Pyromancy attack speed, pyromancy crit strike damage, and fire damage. They ALL help the build • For the amulet, Devouring Blaze and Cooldown are preferred. Any damage passive you can get that you can use in place of conjuration mastery is fine. Triple damage passive amulet is also great. Inner flames, glass cannon, elemental dominance, whatever

Build Notes

Gameplay Loop

1) We will be spamming Meteor, Lightning Spear, and Ice blades whenever we can

2) We utilize Ice armor defensively for a large barrier, and you can pretty much press it whenever it comes off cooldown in the endgame builds. It is typically an engage.

3) Teleport is used for mobility, and to dodge exploding pools

4) Flame shield is used to immune frame boss/shade attacks and exploding pools. You can also use it as an engage if Ice armor is down.

How It Works

Each season since Starfall Coronet got released, I try to make it work. I invest so much into cooldown reduction and am always disappointed with it's performance and spammability. With the introduction of the mythical unique helmet Perdition that provides 60%[x] damage, it's time to hang up the starfall, and try to make meteor work as a standalone on it's own using the base skill.

Meteor has access to some very good multipliers and has a high skill % value. It can deal decent damage given the right scaling. Direct damage fire has access to a few solid skill tree nodes and solid damage with the searing heat legendary node. Allowing meteor to cost mana again to cast has it's upsides, granting it access to use Starless Skies for a ton of attack speed, ranks to core, and crit chance.

A few other meteor enjoyers and myself have discussed, and we decided going forward with meteor this is the best course of action to take with the skill, until Starfall gets fundamental reworks. Don't be afraid to sacrifice some damage when you need to, in order to ensure you have the proper resources to spam meteor. In closing,

I opt to not take the meteorite rune in the endgame build, but feel free to give it a whirl and let me know how it performs via DM on discord. I am open to any and all suggestions on the build, I'm always here to listen. I take pride in trying to make off meta builds, and I put in a lot of effort into these skills, even if only a few people will use them. Best of luck in Vessel of Hatred!
